DaveOften the thermostat gets a small hole somewhere in the long tube, which then lets all the gas escape, making the stat useless. I have stuck a straw in to unblock it but there isn't a blockage. I mop it all up but it soon builds up again. Where does this drainage hole drain away to? After it has defrosted empty the tray at the back by simply unscrewing the tray and removing the little black rubber tube. To test that it has totally defrosted pour coke down the drain inside the fridge with the tray back in, this should filter into the tray. Clean the tray again and insert black rubber tube and tighten screws again, job done. I had the same problem but it was all sorted within 16 hours as it defrosts quickly. Have used a Login to post Did you pour water down this drain, and furthermore did you check that the water you poured into the drain flowed into the condensate pan on the outside of the fridge. Unless you have a problem with an ice maker leaking water, it sounds very much like you do have a blocked drainage hole, otherwise known as a defrost drain.The best and safest way to clear out this drain is to blow it out with compressed air, after you remove any and all ice at the beginning of the drainage system, in other words, the hole located underneath the evaporator coil.You will need to unload the food and remove the shelves from the freezer. Take the back panel off from inside the freezer and you will see a hole just below the coils. Flush it with hot water using a turkey baster or small hose. See the link below for more details. Defrost Drain Make sure that the pipe leading from the drainage port to the reservoir (drainage port is located inside inside of the fridge at the back) is sitting inside the collection reservoir and not hanging over the side causing the puddle. At the back of it you will see a pipe coming out from the bottom of the cooling fins and will go down and the end of it will be sitting inside a shallow plastic collection unit - not covered but open. Itusually is sitting on top of the condenser unit. (this is a large sealed metal structure whic has pipes coming out of it and is the largest item in that area at the back bottom end of appliance).
