Sometimes you are better (for cost of repair reasons) to buy a new roller. I would first personally, take the roller off, and take in to local shop and have them give you a price to replace or repair. That appears to me what has happened. Its also possible, some dirt and debre has got trapped in where there barrings are and it is sticky or just plan stuck. MikeMy vacuum did the same thing, just stopped running mid-stream. Remove the main filter cup. Look inside the cavity of the vacuum and you'll see a grey bar at the bottom of the cavity, pull this up and you'll find the first of two washable filters. Just rinse it under warm water squeezing as you rinse until the water runs clear. The roll the filter in a few paper towels or towel and unroll, reroll until completely dry - should only take a few minutes. Then, look in the same cavity except up top there is another filter which seems to be hidden. The back wall of the inside cavity will guide you to these filters as well. You will be amazed by the difference cleaning these will make in the suction power of your vacuum. Make certain that the roller rolls smoothly and easily. 6: Place the new belt around the roller, fitting it into the groove in the middle of the bar. Replace the bar in the machine. In most models, the bar should simply drop down into the U grooves that hold it. Give the belt half a twist (like the figure 8) and then loop the free end around the shaft of the motor. 7: Replace the bottom of the vacuum and push the retaining tabs back in place with your thumbs or screw in the two screws that hold the bottom on. The dirt chamber is inconvenient to empty because dust and hair gets trapped in it. I keep a pen near the garbage to use to get it out but it ALWAYS results in dust and dirt getting all over me. The filter needs to be cleared often and you have to scrape all the dust and dirt off with your hands as it doesn't come off easily. You could rinse it with water but it takes over 24 hours to dry, even outside on a warm day. The beater bar can't handle my only rug in the house. If you bump a piece of furniture with the business end of the vac, the beater bar turns off and the service light goes on. The beater bar also needs to be serviced periodically as hair will get trapped behind the bar and will cut off suction. The bar is next to impossible to get back on. It is beyond frustrating whenever I need to clean that part. The vac comes apart to expand versatility but it is VERY difficult to get it apart. I'm pressing the button and pulling and it's constantly stuck. Why??!!!!! Finally, even if everything's all cleared out, when I turn it off dirt will fall back out of the stick and onto the floor. I've had this vac since Christmas, about 5 months. I WANT to like it. It costs too much to not like it. I read reviews before I made my decision. I almost returned it immediately because I was nervous at first with how much maintenance it needed. But I figured I'd make it work. Well I hate it. This vacuum has MANY areas for improvement and I definitely would NOT recommend it!I dont recommend it as the primary vacuum unless you dont have pets. I have a lower back injury and, depending on the day, I may not feel up to schlepping our larger full size vacuum down a flight of stairs just to pick up some dog hair. I never planned to spend hours trying to pull clumps of fur mixed in with dust and other debris from the vacuum. Apparently, unbeknownst to me, the vacuum was filling up with clumps of fur. From the outside I couldn’t tell that was going on. It had to fill up to a certain point before it became obvious on the outside. The last time I used it I got an alert. I spent a couple of hours pulling fur out of the machine with tweezers and such. I thought I was done, I was mistaken. Today when I turned on the machine it gave me another alert. Don’t be misled by the name of the machine. It truly is not for cat fur. At this point I am very disappointed and I think I have another hour or so of pulling fur out from the bottom of the vacuum.The suction is decent, but not impressive. If I had kept the box I would return It!I have a short haired dog and was expecting better results than what I got. The vacuum is constantly needing to be cleared out through the lines from dust and fur otherwise there is no suction. I have had it for one month and have had to bend a hanger to stick up the lines to clear it out at least 3 times now. I have mostly tile and I don't feel like it cleans my area rugs very well either. I’m working on returning mine now.Considering the price, I tried overlooking the few flaws that it does have but, unfortunately, I was not able to. The first of which is that it's next to impossible to empty the cup without having to pull the dirt out with your hands and probably a butter knife. The only other problem I had (and this was the actual deal-breaker) was that whenever I attached the extension wand, I couldn't detach it. I found that to be extremely frustrating. I'm returning it.Returned it, but it's not fair to judge it based on a refurb defect. It was light for me but not for my wife. For cordless, it had great suction. Please try again later. kitana 5.0 out of 5 stars The convenience of cordless is such that I never, ever want to go back to wrangling with cords again. I have owned 2 Dyson stick vacs, and have always loved them. However, upon moving to a new place, I needed a new vacuum and with all the expense of moving, I decided to take a chance on this one. The first thing I noted was that it was a bit bigger and heftier than the stick vacs I'm used to. It was quite simple to unpackage and assemble, and I like that the battery is removable. This way if I ever want to replace it or have a spare - it's an easy swap. I can be charging one while using the other. Charging was pretty quick. Plugged in the battery, ran a couple errands and when I returned home, it was good to go. I really like that if you press the 'trigger' twice, the vacuum just stays on. With Dyson to have to keep your finger pressing on it, which isn't a great hardship, but can occasionally be awkward and I can see how it would bug someone with arthritis. This is nicer. The place we moved into had obviously had dogs (another allergy), and I cannot believe the places we have cleaned dog hair out of. Man that stuff gets everywhere. Going over every square inch of flooring - this vacuum was easy to maneuver, and I would say move a little more slowly and deliberately and it will just seem to suck up everything as it gets to it. If you rush you'll miss things. I thought the power, especially when it came to pet hair, was more than adequate. I don't have any rugs yet, so can't comment on how well it does on those. I appreciate the filter, and I really appreciate that there was only a little sneezing and no full blown allergy attack afterwards. We slept in comfort. I'll have to update this as I use it more, but to start off with - this vacuum compares admirably with more expensive ones, and I'm very happy with this purchase.First the good things - it is quiet, powerful enough, good battery life, and is small and easy to maneuver. The bad - when using it without the powered head on to provide support against the floor the weight distribution with the pistol grip design tires your hand out quickly as you are constantly straining to hold the tip up. The dog hair collects in the dirt cup well enough but tends to travel up the side and becomes trapped around the filter housing, making it difficult to empty completely without fishing your fingers up there to pull it all out. The crevice tool has small holes in the top, which the dog hair gets caught up on as it passes by so again you have to reach in and pull the hair out. The powered head is very difficult to remove, probably because of the electrical connection since the others are not. The powered head is also not good at picking dog hair off even very short pile carpet, and the hair gets caught up around the roller worse than my corded vacuums. Lastly, the wall mounting bracket is useless, it requires that the powered head be on the vacuum and is both clumsy to remove the vacuum from and not very secure at holding it anyway.I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it actually is. I have two Hoover Linx cordless vacuums. I love them. I bought the first one in 2012. And after we moved into a two-story house in 2014, I bought another Linx for the second level. I have two dogs and two little kids. For me, cordless vacuums are necessary. They are quick and convenient. I can grab one and quickly vacuum my rugs, hardwood, and even my couches. They pick up both crumbs and dog hair. Of course I still have a traditional corded vacuum: The Incomparable Workhorse that is the Hoover Widepath Tempo (and it's inexpensive!) I can't go a day without vacuuming. My house simply gets too dirty. We use our cordless vacuums multiple times everyday. For immediate messes like crumbs or kids' crafting disasters, but also at the end of the day for overall vacuuming. All cordless vacuums are light to medium duty. They aren't going to give you the same results as a corded vacuum. But the Hoover Linx AND now my new Hoover FUSION are great for daily upkeep. I alternate between cordless and corded. I use the cordless vacuums daily and then lug out my beloved Tempo every other day or so. The Hoover FUSION is slightly better at cleaning than my Linx vacuums. I was surprised and oddly offended that this vacuum was better than my exalted Linx babies. The Linx is designed more like a traditional corded vacuum; the motor and dirt reservoir are down low, near the brush head. I think this is why it works so well. When the majority of the weight is lower, the brush head pushes deeper into the rug fibers. This weight distribution also helps maintain suction on both carpet and hard floors. With the Electrolux I tried, there was basically no weight on the brush head. It skid over the rug, but didn't really dig into the fibers. I had to go over the rug several times to get anything up. So, when I saw the FUSION, I immediately thought it was going to be a dud like the Electrolux. I was wrong. The FUSION is great. Additionally, the FUSION comes with some awesome attachments, whereas the Linx is simply an upright vacuum. The upholstery tool is my favorite attachment thus far. I'll be using the crevice and upholstery tools in my car frequently. Why only 4 Stars?? ---the FUSION doesn't get the 5 stars that I gave the Linx. The FUSION is messy and more cumbersome to empty than the Linx. This is a big problem. I still prefer the Linx for this reason. It provides the suction and cyclonic action. Everything gets sucked around it. That's great except for when you go to empty the reservoir, all that stuff is trapped. Sure, some of the collected dirt freely dumps out into the trash can, but there is always a bunch wrapped around the separator. Shaking it loose doesn't work. And you definitely can't pull it out because your fingers won't fit in between the wall of the reservoir and the separator. Inconvenient and messy. The Linx has the same issue of stuff getting wrapped around the separator thing. While this issue does NOT happen very often with the Linx, when it does, it is super easy to remedy. The separator on the Linx can be removed through the same door you empty from. The debris is easily dislodged. 3) FUSION is not freestanding with the Reach Wand and Powered Nozzle attached. It's top heavy. You can't stop for a second and leave it in an upright position to go run after your kid. You have to lay it down or put it behind the hook thing that it came with. Collecting electronic Canadian Tire Money eCTM can be collected when you purchase Eligible Merchandise (see below) at participating Canadian Tire stores or on-line at canadiantire.ca (or such other web site as may be designated by Canadian Tire from time to time).To collect eCTM you must present a Triangle Rewards Card (or use a Cardless Method described below). You can also collect eCTM on that portion of a purchase charged to a Program Credit Card. The Program Credit Card must be linked to a Triangle Rewards Account at the time the purchase is made in order to collect eCTM.The amount of eCTM collected on fuel purchases depends on the number of litres purchased. A minimum fuel purchase may be required before eCTM can be collected. The rate of collection may vary from time to time and by location and by type of tender used for payment so check at your local Canadian Tire gas bar.You can also collect eCTM on purchases that you make at other merchants that are charged to a Program Credit Card.The rate at which eCTM can be collected may vary from time to time and by location and is subject to change by Canadian Tire without notice. In addition, you may collect eCTM at a different rate if you pay with a Program Credit Card than you would if you use a Triangle Rewards Card (or Cardless Method ). Purchases made in a foreign currency with a Program Credit Card are first converted into Canadian currency (as set out in the cardmember agreement) prior to calculating the amount of eCTM that you have collected.If you use a Triangle Rewards Card or Cardless Method, it must be swiped or scanned or your phone number provided, as the case may be, before you make your purchase. When shopping online at canadiantire.ca (or other website as designated by Canadian Tire), you must enter your Triangle Rewards Account number at check out to collect eCTM. Members are also eligible to collect bonus eCTM, or to collect eCTM at a promotional rate offered from time to time on the purchase of select items, upon the occurrence of certain events or as part of a promotion or offer, but unless otherwise indicated, bonus eCTM or eCTM awarded at a promotional rate is awarded only once for a transaction. You cannot use a Triangle Rewards Card (or Cardless Method) together with a Program Credit Card.
