From the United StatesConstruction-wise, both are well-made. For my home-studio purpose, I like the warmer sound of the PM0.5 more. Please try again later. Mr. L.K.V. 4.0 out of 5 stars After looking at reviews, and auditioning some various products, I decided to purchase a pair of these speakers. I run these speakers from an M-Audio 2496 Soundcard, through Monster I400MkII (4 meter) RCA Interconnects, into Neutrik RCA-XLR connectors. This provides a good quality analogue source output device, clean noise-free cable and locking terminals into the speakers. Playback software for general music is the excellent, low resource, clean, quality Billy Player from Sheep Friends. I do also use Foobar with ASIO drivers. For recording Cubase VST is employed. I have the on-speaker gain control set to 50-straight up (no numerical markings on the speakers, just dots), and drive output of the M-Audio card between -22dB and 0dB. Delivering pleasant from evening to more aggressive volumes close volumes. Bass does diminish some toward lower volumes, but I think this is more of an acoustic phenomenon than true output of these speakers. These speakers sound pretty good. The treble is a little clear for my personal preference of music listening, so I have remedied this with an ordinary tissue draped over the tweater. If these speakers had grills, this would certainly cause my review to be 5 stars. Bass is quite prominent, and defined. The mid frequencies are articulate and free from muddiness, and although a little clear for me, the treble is not shrill or brittle. Sound stage is precise, and defined. No drifting is experienced when moving around within the listening area. Obviously, these are two driver unit speakers, and I am yet to hear a pair of this type of loudspeaker (in HiFi or Pro Audio) to contain all the full spectrum of bass low end. I would like to audition the Fostex PM0.5 Subwoofer, and see how much that compliments the sound of these impressive speakers. To note from my setup of using RCA into XLR connectors. This has reduced the volume slightly, as to be expected as with feeding a high input with a straight line level signal. I was using cheap cables terminating in RCA and TRS, which delivered more volume, due to the use of the TRS centre input on the speakers. I could have done this again using RCA-TRS adaptors for the Monster interconnects (Monster had no affordable RCA-TRS cables available in UK), but I preferred the use of the locking connectors, coupled with Monster blade terminals, for durability. I really am impressed with these speakers. For the ?250 I paid for them, they certainly delivered what I was expecting. We have a second set in the home for direct connection of a Line6 POD and practice at low volumes without the PC - very useful way to go. I would love to hear the Subwoofer, but would probably be another couple of hundred pounds poorer! Please try again later. Please try again later. Micah Ellison 4.0 out of 5 stars With these monitors, it's very easy for my ears to pick out specific parts of a busy song and analyze and compare effects. They are rather huge, however. The individual rear power switch is a little annoying too: you may want to buy a small power strip to toggle these on and off. Whatever the case, I feel I got my money's worth. The rear audio input jacks look pretty durable and the speakers use standard three-prong power cables instead of built in ones. Besides the size, the only major inconvenience of these speakers is that they have no grills. Please try again later. Please try again later. The bi-amplified design sends 18W to both the low and high frequency channels, for a combined power output of 36W, which provides tight, punchy sound with low distortion. The speakers are magnetically shielded for safe use near video monitors, making them ideal for multimedia applications.
