5 Out of 5 Written by Joy Morgan June 29, 2010 I have been looking for a heavy duty Shredder for the office and found this model seemed to be the right one. The refurb price is much better than new and for all intents and purpose, it is as good as new. Everyone at the office loves how it just quietly shreds everything you throw at it, no fuss. There usually is a button on the bottom of the shredder component, that will not allow the shredder to run UNLESS it is seated correctly.Then carefully inspect inside the paper input chute. There should be one or more small slots with spring contacts inside them. You may have jammed one or more of them permanently into the on position while clearing your paper jam. Especially if the jam was caused by and adhesive backed material in the shredder. If you see one of them jammed just manually clear it and try again. I doubt that the contacts have fused. That requires high currents. These sensors use very low current to make or break the contact.It is good, and necessary, preventive maintenance to clean the shredding mechanism regularly to remove trapped paper.This model was dis-continued quite awhile ago and i doubt that parts are available anymore. Also, there are 2 cutting cylinders in the machine and they are different lengths. Usually would replace entire cutting head unit instead of just 1 cylinder. But you can call fellowes at 800-955-0959 and see whats still available.Preferably an online vendor. Took apart, dusted, removed stuck paper and hit it with WD40.
