So kinda grew up with Farmalls. Now I want to re-mount it. But can't quiet figure out how to do it. You set the bucket on the ground so the legs touched the ground and with the bucket cylinder relieved the pressure on the 2 rear mounts. Loosened the set bolts and backed away. Sometimes you had to lift the back a little to get it over the front axle. The hoses were long enough to back away a ways, then unhook the hoses. Here is a picture, you can see the legs up on the side of the loader arms.James It looks like you can just drive right back in, hook up the hoses, wiggle it around a little, and be done. One of my neighbours has one painted original white on a 584. Super C NFE and fast hitchJawl is right on the money with the instructions. You might need to get someone with another loader to help support it while you adjust. It looks like you can just drive right back in, hook up the hoses, wiggle it around a little, and be done. Then I should be able to drive straight in. That will give me an idea of how long the legs should be then a trip to the steel shop.http://www.tortugafilms.com/adminfiles/employee-training-manual.xml Thanks again Then drive in to the loaderand have the legs rest on the sub frame of your 574? So kinda grew up with Farmalls. Now to buy some steel and make the jack stands as it should be. Really like this web site there is a lot of knowledge out there. AGCO dealers say it is another number but was wondering if someone here knows something. The original cylinders were stolen so rebuilding them is out. It looks just like the loader in picture, but that isn't my tractor. The tag says Farmhand 30 is on the upright (inside facing forward) of the left side. The loader is on a Ford Industrial 540 3 cylinder built between 1979-1981. It is a quick attach loader or one of the first of them. It appears to have the same belly mount as tractor in photo. I do not ever see anything about Farmhand 30, lots of 20 and 22, even 2 but no 30, Thanks again!!! I also have a Model 22 on my 5610-2 The cylinders are identical except for bore. If you need dimensions of cylinders, post back, and I'll do some measuring for you. HTH, Dave Edit: First 2 pictures are of the Model 30 (??) on my 3910. I can't verify that it's a model 30, as I've never found a name plate on it. This is a Model 22 on my 5610-2. The dimensions and geometry are identical on both loadersb, but the 22 is build a bit heavier, and has the larger bore lift cylinders.Except for that bevel right at the top. Whether you need a weld-on mounting plate for a new bucket or a bolt-on mounting plate for an attachment, MDS is the ultimate source. Angles, widths and spacing will vary. Please click on the part number of the model loader below to help you with a visual reference. What is shown in the pictures is what bolt-on mounts would look like on an MDS attachment requiring bolt-on mounts. Weld-on mounts would be the same only welded directly onto the back of a bucket shell. Weld-on part numbers are the same as bolt-on part numbers follow by a -4. Most, but not all bolt-on mount kits are two piece. It is very likely we have or can build it. Please note that all needs for Pin-To-Pin Loaders will require a schematic drawing. Any help is appreciated.Any AGCO dealer can get you the dimensions for a will fit cylinder. But you will need to do some fabrication on an aftermarket cylinder to match the pin mounts.I need the same one. 1A63706 The one my hydraulic place ordered won’t work, as the lower port needs to be on the side. Trying to find one usedTrying to find one used Click to expand. Do you know the Cross model number. I couldn’t find it on their site. It’s frustrating because the size is made by other manufacturers, it is the side port that seems to be unique. I’ve had no luck used either. Wondering if I may have to see if a big machine shop can repair mine. My local place said that would be pricey, if it could even be done. There is a slight ding in the barrel, and it has malformed the piston. I just got this tractor and used it once then the cylinder failed.Where are you located? We don’t have the specifications for the cylinder and have a 15 piece minimum order. You will need to find a local repair shop to either fix yours or build a new one. Thanks, Joe Crum Territory Mgr.However my hydraulic shop had their cylinder supplier look into it and they got the same response you did - have to order 15. I found a cylinder with a gland that rotates the port by Bailey that may work. However I talked to my hydraulic shop yesterday and instead of returning the cylinder they got me they want to machine a port onto the side. I have to take it back in, will let you know what happens. But that may be an option for you. The cross tube where the pin goes through on these basic replacement cylinders is too narrow on the end where it attaches to bucket. May have to shim with a bushing or washers if it is a problem. Hopefully other than that they fit - remains to be seen. However my hydraulic shop had their cylinder supplier look into it and they got the same response you did - have to order 15. At least you have a cylinder to work with, the loader on my tractor has no bucket cylinder at all. Even just the dimensions would be a big help to get one built. The port at the bottom, near where it attaches to the bucket, needs to be on the side or you’ll bust it off doing dirt work. Also as I mentioned that bottom cross tube will be too narrow. It may be fine, or may need to be shimmed if not. Check on Bailey’s site for the model with the rotating port that matches above stats. It may work for you. I was going to try it but now my hydraulic place wants to cut a new port on the cylinder they ordered me. This is the first FAO aquaculture manual on this genus, covering everything from its basic biology and aquaculture production, through to stock packaging and being ready to go to market. Information on mud crab biology, hatchery and nursery technology, grow-out systems, disease control, processing and packaging has been collated in this manual to provide a holistic approach to mud crab aquaculture production. Compared with other types of aquaculture, mud crab culture still has a large number of variants, including: the use of seedstock collected from the wild, as well as produced from a hatchery; farming systems that range from very extensive to intensive, monoculture to polyculture; and farm sites that vary from mangrove forests to well-constructed aquaculture ponds or fattening cages. As such, there is no one way to farm mud crabs, but techniques, technologies and principles have been developed that can be adapted to meet the specific needs of farmers and governments wishing to develop mud crab aquaculture businesses. Each of the four species of Scylla has subtly different biology, which equates to variations in optimal aquaculture production techniques. Where known and documented, variants have been identified, where not, farmers, researchers and extension officers alike may have to adapt results from other species to their mud crab species of choice and local climatic variables. Compared with many other species that are the subject of industrial scale aquaculture, mud crabs can still be considered to be at an early stage of development, as the use of formulated feeds for them is still in its infancy and little work has yet been undertaken to improve stock performance through breeding programmes. This manual is an introduction to all aspects of mud crab aquaculture. The mention of specific companies or products of manufacturers, whether or not these have been patented, does not imply that these have been endorsed or recommended by FAO in preference to others of a similar nature that are not mentioned. The views expressed in this information product are those of the author(s) and do not necessarily reflect the views of FAO. ISBN 978-92-5-106990-5 All rights reserved. FAO encourages reproduction and dissemination of material in this information product. Non-commercial uses will be authorized free of charge, upon request. Reproduction for resale or other commercial purposes, including educational purposes, may incur fees. This manual attempts to showcase the current wisdom on mud crab farming from key nations in the Asia-Pacific region where research and development, significant industry development and extension of technology have occurred in recent years. The development of this manual reflects contributions from all major organizations and research teams involved in mud crab culture development. Attendance at numerous workshops and conferences on crab fisheries and aquaculture over the past couple of decades has provided inspiration and insight into the need for a manual such as this, one that brings together the whole process of mud crab farming from broodstock to high-quality product leaving the farm. The support, patience and enthusiasm of Alessandro Lovatelli, FAO Aquaculture Officer, was critical to the completion of this publication. They are among the most valuable crab species in the world, with the bulk of their commercial production sent live to market. Compared with many other species that are the subject of industrial scale aquaculture, mud crabs can still be considered to be at an early stage of development, as the use of formulated feeds for them is still in its infancy and little work has yet been undertaken to improve stock performance through breeding programmes. Autotomy The spontaneous casting off a limb or other body part by an animal when injured or to facilitate escape when under attack. Berried Or bearing eggs. In larger crustaceans (e.g. lobsters, crabs), a term, which is used to describe those females with large egg masses attached under the abdomen during the period of incubation. Biosecurity Procedures to protect animals or humans against disease or harmful biological agents. Brackish water W ater with a salinity intermediate between seawater and freshwater, usually showing wide salinity fluctuations. Brackish water is commonly found in estuaries. Broodstock Mud crabs of both sexes maintained for controlled breeding purposes. Burrowing Making a hole or tunnel. Cannibalism Intraspecific predation. Eating flesh of its own species. Carapace The protective shell of crabs also known as exoskeleton. Cellular systems Culture systems constructed of individual cells. Chela The pincer-like claw of a crab or other crustacean. Conditioning T rain or condition something to behave in a particular way or to improve its condition, e.g. nutrition. Copulation Or mating. Pairing animals for breeding purposes. Crablets Juvenile, post-larval mud crabs that have yet to obtain sexual maturity, subadults. Dactyl The claw or terminal joint of a leg of a crustacean. Empty crab A crab that has recently moulted (see moult), with high water content and low meat yield. Fattening Intensive feeding to raise the farmed animal to market size. Feed conversion ratio (FCR) The ratio of the gain in the wet body weight of the animal to the amount of feed fed. Haemolymph The invertebrate equivalent of blood in the circulatory system. Hatching The breaking of eggs and release of larvae. Incubation The process of incubating eggs, i.e. the period during which embryos develop inside the eggs. In mud crabs the eggs are incubated between spawning as a large egg mass, also known as “sponge”, attached under the abdomen of females. Intertidal The area between high and low tides; also known as the foreshore and seashore and sometimes referred to as the littoral zone. Intermoult The period between the moulting of crabs or description of a stage of the moult cycle. Larvae Or the plantonic immature phase of mud crabs. An organism from the beginning of exogenous feeding to metamorphosis into juvenile. At the larval stage the animal differs greatly in appearance and behaviour from a juvenile or an adult. Maggots A non-technical term to describe the larvae of flies. Mangroves A tidal salt marsh (intertidal) community dominated by trees and shrubs, particularly of the genus Rhizophora, many of which produce adventitious aerial roots. Develops in tropical and subtropical areas, in predominantly muddy or sandy substrates, and along protected coastlines. Megalopa The final larval stage of mud crabs, prior to their settlement to the benthic phase of their life cycle. Metamorphosis The process of changing shape or structure in the transition of one developmental stage into another or from an immature form to a mature form in two or more stages. Microalgae Microscopic algae typically found in fresh and marine waters. Monoculture A single species grown on its own. Moult Common name for the exuvium, i.e. the shed of the old exoskeleton to make way for a new layer. To moult: process of shedding the exoskeleton. Ovary The female reproductive organ of mud crabs. Ozone treatment Ozone used as an oxidizing agent to sterilize water. Pathogens A bacterium, virus or other microscopic organism that can cause disease in its animal or plant host. Pens Simple structures to contain mud crab stock for grow-out. Phototactic Demonstrates a positive movement toward light. Polyculture The rearing of two or more non-competitive species in the same culture unit. Prophylaxis Action taken to prevent disease by specific means or against a specific disease. Quarantine A state, place or period of isolation in which animals have arrived from elsewhere as they may have been exposed to disease. Salinity An expression for the concentration of soluble mineral salts and chlorides in water; usually expressed as parts per thousand (ppt). Scylla The scientific genus that mud crab species belong to. Silviculture The growing and cultivation of trees. Spawning migration A migration of female crabs from their usual habitat to another habitat for the purpose of spawning and hatching their eggs. Sponge The egg mass of female crabs held externally under their abdomens. Subtidal The shallow marine or tidal flat environment that is below the mean low water level of spring tides. UV (Ultraviolet sterilization) Ultraviolet radiation utilized to sterilize water. W ater crab or water bag A crab that has recently moulted and typically has a high water content but low meat yield. Zoea The early larval stage of mud crabs. Zooplankton Plankton consisting of small animals and the immature stages of larger animals. The species are S. serrata (Forskal, 1775), S. olivacea (Herbst, 1796), S. tranquebarica (Fabricius, 1798), and S. paramamosain (Estampador, 1949). That study has been followed up by other work using sequential analysis of mitochondrial 12S rRNA from mud crabs from Japan, Madagascar and Thailand, and further DNA and RNA analysis that demonstrated that larval, as well as juvenile mud crabs could be confidently described using the revised taxonomic nomenclature.
