fargo dtc 300 manualThe ribbon supply roller is driven by a small motor connected via an O-ring belt. The printer rolls the ribbon back and forth to locate the start of each color panel on the ribbon during printing and ribbon detection. In my printer, the slack ribbon also gets chewed up in the print head.Update both by going to the Fargosupport.com and requesting the firmware, print driver and utility. After updating and installing the driver, calibrate the ribbon sensor in the Printing Preferences of the driver.Let's start with the simplest - cleaning. Use your cleaning kit to clean the rollers and print head. If the rollers are dirty, cards can slip and cause ribbons to break. Another is the TOF setting. If the print image is too close to the front edge, the ribbon will break. Check these 2 things and see if this helps.Upgrade the firmware and printer driver from Fargosupport.com. Then calibrate the ribbon sensor through the printer driver calibrate tab. OnlineIdTech The process of dismantling the printers is quite straightforward but is also quite inticate and I would only advise tackling this job if you are used to taking apart items such as laptop computers as much of the work is very similar. There is also a significant risk of altering the printhead set up when doing this work and so rendering the printer unusable - I was only forced into doing these repairs as we were working over a weekend and could not get an engineer out. At the end of the day it may be best to have the replacement carried out by a qualified dealer? Answer questions, earn points and help others. Once installed, it's easy to keep your HID Global FARGO printer always up-to-date with the latest enhancements! Skip to download. Electronics, Incorporated.
