The unit of measur e for water pressur e. Also used for air pressur e, hydraulic pressur e, etc. The unit of measure for the flow rate of water thr ough the pressur e washer. CU: Cleaning Units. GPM multiplied by PSI. Bypass Mode: In Bypass Mode, the pump is recir culating water because the trigger of the spray gun is not pulled. If unit is left in bypass mode for more than two (2) minutes, the water temperature will rise to a danger ous level and could damage internal components of the pump. Any damage to pump due to these causes will not be covered under warranty. DO NOT allow your unit to operate in bypass mode for more than two minutes at any time. Overheating of pump can cause damage to pump. Thermal Relief V alve: In an effort to prevent extr eme damage, pumps are equipped with a thermal relief valve. This valve will open when the temperatur e inside the pump rises too high. This valve will then release a gush of water in an effort to lower the temperatur e inside the pump. Immediately after this occurs, the valve will close. The thermal relief valve is part of the pump and is not visible to the user. Chemical Injection System: Mixes cleaners or cleaning solvents with the pressurized water to impr ove cleaning effectiveness. W ater Supply: All pressur e washers must have a source of water. The minimum requir ements for a water supply are 20 PSI and 5 gallons per minute. PRESSURE WASHER OPERA TING FEA TURES PRESSURE ADJUSTMENTS The pressur e setting is preset at the factory to achieve optimum pr essure and cleaning. If you need to lower the pressur e, it can be accomplished by these methods. 1. Back away from the surface to be cleaned. The further away you ar e, the less the pressur e will be on the surface to be cleaned. 2. Rotate the nozzle at the end of the multi-adjustable spray wand to widen the fan spray. The wider fan spray will minimize the pressur e on the surface to be cleaned. DO NOT attempt to increase pump pr essure. A higher pressur e setting than the factory set pressur e may damage pump. The high pressur e setting is for cleaning and rinsing, the low pressur e setting is for applying chemicals or cleaning solutions to surfaces. When using the high pressur e setting, DO NOT allow the jet- like spray to come in contact with unprotected skin, eyes, or with any pets or animals. DO NOT direct discharge stream towar d persons. For high pressur e operation, pull back the nozzle of the multi-adjustable spray wand as shown. The nozzle at the end of the multi-adjustable spray wand can be rotated to change the high pressur e spray pattern from a narrow jet to a 40.Markings have been placed on the nozzle to help you select the spray pattern. For low pressur e operation, extend the nozzle of the multi-adjustable spray wand as shown. 40? fan spray narrow jet str eam NOTE: Use only soaps and chemicals designed for pressur e washer use. See How T o Use Wand paragraph in this section. 4. After use of chemicals, place chemical hose into container of clean water and draw clean water through chemical injection system to rinse system thor oughly. If chemicals remain in the pump it could be damaged. Pumps damaged due to chemicals will not be covered under warranty. NOTE: Chemicals and soapS will not siphon when wand is in the high pressur e setting. READ AND UNDERST AND ALL W ARNINGS BEFORE ST ARTING UNIT When using the high pr essur e setting, DO NOT allow the high pressur e spray to come in contact with unprotected skin, eyes, or with any pets or animals.
