And sometimes the shorter units have a short stride range. This unit is only 50 inches long, perfect for the area I'm using and the stride is around 21 inches. The ratings online for this company are mostly good. However, we all know that ratings by the public can be misleading sometimes. The unit arrived by special carrier and on time (make sure you arrange for the carrier to unload and help bring inside your home; otherwise they will leave it curbside, as stated in the paperwork, and you WILL need help carrying in the house. I opened the box outside and the carrier helped me take the base in the house; the rest of the parts you can carry yourself). I had requested the assembly package from AMAZON but no one ever called or showed up. However, to all of you that are mechanically inclined, I put this unit together in less than 2 hours by myself. It is not difficult, and there is a good support line. I have been working out with it for 2 weeks and absolutely thrilled with the operation of this unit. Happy to give it a 5 star and would buy again. FYI, the beautiful girl displayed with the unit did not arrive yet!!! MGBI called FedEx Ground and they said the unit is too heavy for Ground, it needs to have two labels to separate the weight, or it needs to be shipped freight. I then contact Body Solid rep again to ask for advise and he tells me that it needs to ship freight (ok, so why did they send me Ground return labels). So now I'm stuck with a broken unit and no means to take it with me to Texas as they informed me incorrectly to screw up the timing of everything. First there was an issue with the shipping as a representative from iFitnessDirect could not give me a straight answer with regards to the shipping date. This went on for a few days, and the item eventually arrived about a week late. Next, after spending about and hour and half getting it installed, immediately after plugging it in for the first time it powered up fine with a working display, however there was a loud, continuous clicking noise coming from the center drive. I left the power on for a few minutes and the clicking noise did not stop. I decided to unplug it to not cause anymore damage. Needless to say I went through a lot of effort to not even be able to use the machine. What a waste of time that I can never recover. I plan on returning this item in full and just joining a gym.
