But I hate syncing and do not want to use it, for numerous reasons. In previous iTunes versions, I could select items and manually move them to my iPod. Since all items are greyed out, is that that no longer possible. If so, why is there still an option for manual syncing. And why should such a useful service be denied us. Another complaint: If I check the box saying that I want to sync TV shows (only), the scary message appears saying that everything on my iPod will be deleted - movies, podcasts, everything - even though that is not what I asked for. It is misleading to have a separate box for syncing TV shows when it deletes everything else as well. This is an error that Apple should have fixed. It should make clear that this happens during syncing. Pardon the ranting but it is perplexing that iTunes 12 is considered an upgrade. Like many others, I am perplexed and frustrated by Apple's decision to further complicate iTunes. Also, why it still threatens to delete all existing content on the iPod when is it only supposed to sync one type of content remains inexplicable. Please forgive the additional rants. They are certainly not directed at you. I appreciate your clear explanation and advice. Cathy How would a certified nutbag like me go about such insanity?
