This is fairly easy to do so be gentle as you apply the wires and test their hold on the board. If you haven’t watched the installation guide on YouTube or Voultar’s installation guide ( ) you definitely should, regardless of which kit you’re getting. Once you’ve soldered everything and made sure it’s working, you can reassemble it and it works amazingly well. I’ve tried numerous cables and power sources and had the same result so I’m pretty sure it’s down to the TV. All in all, the kit is fantastic and games play perfectly. If you want to play games on your GBA on a large screen, this is a must-get mod. Installation was easy for someone like me who’s got an intermediate experience with a soldering iron. Novices might have a harder time with installation due to the GBA’s solder pads being very weak and prone to damage. Just go slow, and be delicate with the wires and don’t apply too much heat. I actually didn’t use the supplied wiring, since the package I got had all black wires, I prefer multi-colored wiring for certain signals to delineate from. I ended up purchasing a separate GBA shell and buttons (all black for a sleek look), and it all installed nicely. Including multiple scanlines, changing button mappings, and a few others. The video output of 720p is totally adequate for modern displays, especially if you’re running on a 4K TV like I am.Installation is super easy and instructions are clear. AV options and quality are second to none. The only thing that should be improved is the SNES controller connector that is included with the kit. It’s very hard to plug the controller all the way (using my main, original, SNES controller that works perfectly on original SNES hardware) and the grip on the pins is way too strong. This is not a clearance issue, I made sure to solder the connector straight, and in a way that nothing interferes with the connection.
