Regards PaulA trick to getting 4 corners square is to cut the mating edges on the opposite side if that makes sense. ie. cut one edge with the saw at 45 degrees right, cut the matching edge with the saw at 45 degrees left. This might give you better results. You might want to do a few different cuts. 90 degree, 45 degree as well as compound cuts (saw tilted). To find the actual errors. I wouldn't give up so easy on getting a refund or repair if it doesn't cut near enough to accurate. For 45 degrees you use one side of the blade and cut and check 2 pieces on a square ( oh, and make sure your square is square, very few are), you can also use a diagonal drawn on a large square to help align your blade. If it helps very few saws are accurate out the box and you need to set them, with Ryobis you need to check everytime. I used a Ryobi for a long time, get rid of the 40 tooth they supply with the machine and get a good blade, 60-80 teeth is what you need. Once you change the blade they work well just so long as you know how to set them up.Sorry to disappoint you but if you want to make accurate angle cuts my recommendation is to make your self a bench hook mitre box and use a back saw.Or make a chute board and use a hand plane to tune your angles. If you are going to be making a lot of picture frames it may be worth getting a guillotine frame cutter. For super accurate angles I use a chute board and my No 6 or No7 Stanley plane. I would try returning the saw and get my money back and put it toward some thing else. Kev.Hold the best side firmly against the fence, cut one side off. Turn to hold the fresh cut against the fence, cut another side off. Repeat until all sides are freshly cut. Check that the fourth and first sides are square. If it's not square, align the CMS as described in the user manual. It states two things are important in a CMS: 1. A good carbide-tipped blade. I would add suitable for what you want to cut. 2.
