Anyways so back to this model saw all the negatives and did my torture tests figured I can return before the 30 days to walmart concerned about the paint peeling interior too early to see any signs but seems similar to my old one even the plastic ring that broke on my old one but still kept rotating suprised the design hasn't changed a bit. So the reheating and rice cooking ok this time wiping excess moisture seems like this 1100 watt definitely more power then the 900 watt I used to have and was satisfied with it then. Now the browning part was a bit peculiar to me because on the old one I would take mw glass and plastic ring out thinking oven mode at 400 degrees might melt it having 2 elements, now this one has a top browner element only which I like for ease of not taking the plastic off but will probably not brown anything for more then 25 mins at a time. I tried toasting some slices for 7 mins and it rotates while doing so compared to my old was stationary to my suprised toasted well and evenly the top of slices which would be great say for a toasty top crust pie or searing top of steak or salmon of what I usually use for. So far so good on my first week and will update and keep posting on my actual cooking keeping fingers crossed and rating 5 stars for now. Reviewed in the United States on April 29, 2015 This thing worked very well for about 18 months - It cooked food quickly and evenly and featured attractive styling. I will say, though, that I never tried to use the grill feature because it sounded gimmicky. What I will say is that it made a mean slice of leftover pizza. Then, one day, like many other reviewers, I went to clean it and the paint started peeling off of the bottom (under the rotating tray). I was just using a scrubber sponge and Formula 409 so there's no excuse for this besides cheap paint. Now that there was suddenly exposed metal, it would start to spark when I tried to use it. I started researching how to repair the unit, and then I found stories of these microwaves starting on their own, overheating, and having numerous other problems. Mine went to the city dump. Stay far, far, away from this model because it is literally a danger to your home. Please try again later. RexOpg 5.0 out of 5 stars So this new one is a lot simpler in design for easy clean up but basically the same like mw glass and rotating wheel bottom for the mw part but my samsung had heating elements on the bottom also. Tyler 1.0 out of 5 stars It worked fine for the first 2ys or so, but then started sparking inside. Sounded like tin foil crackling. There is also no way to clean the top AT ALL. It's just next to impossible and you can't remove the griller to clean. It also started chipping paint on the bottom front. After that I noticed this week ALL the paint on the inside has bubbled up and chipping??? NEVER had this problem with even cheaper microwaves. That's gotta be DANGEROUS. Probably will give us cancer now. And yes it turns on all on it's own. Shame on Emerson for still making this DANGEROUS product. If only I could have given it zero stars.Just a couple years later and we have to invest in another. Unacceptable! Please try again later. Please try again later. It has proven to be nice and powerful, comparing it to a Sharp and G.E. I used so often I wore them out. I looked high and low for a unit that also had a heating unit, which this does. It does not cook like an oven with a traditional temp. But, so many items are better with a browned top or crust, it just cant be beat. It takes longer with the heater as the food would never cook and brown in such a fast time as most microwaves, so you must experiment with times. But I have made single pie crusts in 15 minutes with the filling cooked outside of the crust like blueberry and individual macaronni and cheese single servings in 20 minutes etc. They taste like they were cooked in the regular oven for a change. Think of a toaster oven and microwave combined so your closer to what it can do. The boost of microwave power is just a plus. It takes experimentation as the cookbook is poor, as was the Sharp's and G.E.'s. too. Please try again later. Please try again later. JRATT 5.0 out of 5 stars Once you get used to the keypad functions it is easy to operate. Nurse Tana 5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to clean. I've never really understood the grill feature but it's a great product! Please try again later. Please try again later. JUNE DOWNEY 5.0 out of 5 stars Always works. I used my microwave at least 4 times a day. Easier than starting the oven especially in the summer. I see someone said you can not increase or decrease the time.Oh yes you can. It is called push the keypad for how long you want it to cook.i.e. 3.42 and it will defrost, brown, cook for that amount of time. Had another brand for 6 years. It died and could not get it repaired. It is more cost efficient to buy a new Emerson every 3 years. Please try again later. Please try again later. The real problem is- The wheels, under the microwave glass 'tray' have worn away the lining and now I have an ugly rusty circle on the bottom of the inside mircrowave area. This can't be safe, I am going to have to throw it out and buy another. I have never seen this happen before on any other microwave I have owned. The replacement will definitely NOT be an Emerson. I have subsequently gone on other sites to read reviews, and apparently others have had this problem too. I wish I had read the reviews first! Please try again later. Please try again later. V. H. 1.0 out of 5 stars When it did work properly the beeps are loud and annoying. The grill thing only gets in the way for cleaning. Maybe you just got a brand spanking new microwave and, of course, it works totally different from your old one. Or maybe you set your microwave when you first got it, then somehow misplaced the owner's manual. Now, your power just went out and you can't, for the life of you, remember how to reset the clock. And everyone knows the twice-a-year panic of daylight saving time when you suddenly need to remember how to set the clock on every appliance in your home. Thankfully, with a Emerson 1000w microwave, setting the clock is pretty straightforward, so you can spend your time figuring out how the heck to make your oven clock stop blinking. There are several versions of the Emerson 1000w microwave, but setting the clock is the same no matter what model you own. If you aren't seeing anything on the display, double check that it's plugged in (don't laugh, it happens).Sally writes about home renovations for blogs and websites, including Zoe Magazine, Realty Times and Hire My Mom.
