Temos tambem tentado racionalizar a quantidade de apresentacoes nao legislativas e relatorios durante as sessoes plenarias regulares e, em vez disso, criamos uma vibrante sessao plenaria no domingo a noite que e uma “Celebracao da Missao e do Ministerio da Igeja Metodista Unida”, que esta aberta aos delegados, observadores e Metodistas Unidos locais. Alem disso, poderosas experiencias de culto proporcionarao oportunidades de oracao, confissao e louvor. A Comissao esta extremamente satisfeita que a Dra. Marcia McFee tenha concordado aceitar ser Directora Musical e do Culto e, nessa qualidade, conduz uma talentosa equipa de artistas e musicos fieis de toda a conexao Metodista Unida. Provavelmente havera muitas experiencias significativas de culto, incluindo uma em que delegados serao convidados a participar de um comovente Acto de Arrependimento, para com os danos causados aos povos indigenas. Criar Oportunidades para Conversacoes Santas Acreditamos que temos de continuar a fornecer meios para os delegados falarem uns com os outros, de formas nao sobrecarregadas pelos processos e procedimentos legislativos, a Comissao criou tres oportunidades para os delegados da Conferencia Geral participarem em conversacoes santas. “Conferenciacao” Santa e uma tradicao que decorre dos ensinamentos de John Wesley e implica um compromisso de escutar cuidadosamente, falar e discernir o movimento do Espirito de Deus em e atraves da reuniao do corpo de crentes.
