electro harmonix stereo polychorus pedal manualCarefully reading these instructions will ensure full use of the tremendous variety of superb effects, which have been engineered into this state-of-the-art device. In this mode you can sweep the TUNE knob manually for “custom” flanging. CHORUS- A sweeping echo for moving sounds such as “12 string guitar” and rotating speaker effects. DOUBLE TRACK- A short-delay echo for spacious “stage effects”. Plug the supplied AC adapter supplied into your Polychorus. Connect your instrument or microphone to the INPUT jack and your amplifier to the MAIN OUT jack (for an amazing stereo effect, connect a second amplifier to OUTPUT 2 simultaneously). Press the BYPASS FOOTSWITCH to engage the effect. The status LED located above the footswitch will light up. Press the footswitch again to switch back to bypass mode, the LED will shut off. FILTER MATRIX- Select FILTER MATRIX mode. The TUNE control will shift the effect from a high airy tone clockwise (CW) to a rich tone counterclockwise (CCW). While the RATE control has no effect in this mode, turning the TUNE control will produce a manual or “custom” flange. The FEEDBACK control determines how much of the processed signal is mixed in or “fed back” to the input. In FILTER MATRIX, turning FEEDBACK CW will “sharpen” or increase the intensity of the effect. CAUTION: In the extreme CW position the FEEDBACK control may cause oscillation, a squealing or roaring sound. This is normal, and may be stopped by backing off the FEEDBACK control. FLANGE - Turn the MODE switch to the FLANGE position. The RATE control determines how fast the comb filter sweeps up and down through its pitch range. Turned fully CW, the frequency is about ten cycles per second. Turned fully CCW, the sweep is slow, about one cycle every ten seconds. The pitch range of the sweep is set by the combined action of the WIDTH and TUNE knobs: The TUNE control sets the center frequency, and the WIDTH control determines how far the sweep goes.http://viveirosrego.com/images/dbs-volante-manual-for-sale.xml

Maximum TUNE range is obtained by setting the WIDTH knob fully CW. The FEEDBACK knob also operates as in FILTER MATRIX. CHORUS - When CHORUS mode is selected, the FEEDBACK knob determines the number of echoes: CCW for a single repeat, CW for more. The TUNE control will increase the delay time of the echo as it is turned CW. The WIDTH control maximizes the delay range of the TUNE control in its CW position, and emphasizes the modulating character of the CHORUS effect as it is turned more CW. The RATE control operates as in FLANGE. For a total spacious stereo effect, connect OUTPUT 2 to a second amplifier or a second channel on the same amplifier. The Stereo Polychorus draws 110 mA of current from 9 VDC. The polarity of the power jack is center negative. The maximum allowable power supply voltage is 12.0 VDC. When you have created these sounds, you will be ready to tailor your own special settings of the STEREO POLYCHORUS’s many possibilities. So many different sounds. Wacked-out space sounds is my thing and this pedal delivers. Just today I discovered a sound very similar to my Earthquaker Devices Rainbow Machine. And the massive variety of things this does makes it a no-brainer. Super subtle to massive beef, it is a centerpiece in my board.Their pedals are about the only ones that allow of extreme settings, even when they aren't musical. Their engineers let the player have full power over the sound. It is fantastic, because the effects range from classic to dramatic, and even unique. Unfortunatelly, I'm too far away for a return, or to ship it for factory repairs. Everything works great, except the When using the double track mode. With lenghtier delays, the sound is invaded by a a high pitched whistle, like the sound made by a camera flash charging. It is so annoying that is impossible to use the pedal at this settings, and they're not extreme or experimental: The pedal should work well in this range. I just don't know if my pedal is working as it should, or if it is defective. Anyway, i'm not completely happy with the product. This is exactly what I was looking for. Great tone, great pedal. Confirmed to work flawlessly on synthesizers!I hated it right out of the box, but it's growing on me. I have a new appreciation for the ease and flexibility of digital chorus. Plugged directly to my guitar, there's disastrous clipping when switched to my bridge humbucker at full signal, and there's still a slight clipping with my Schecter in split coil mode. Extending the delay past 12:00 causes an awful hiss that changes pitch according to the delay. Unless slapback is your goal, the slapback in chorus mode is obnoxious and kills all the attack from staccato picking. Still, it's not all bad. The modulated voice with the delay below 12:00 is pristine. It does great Leslie-style modulation when playing sustained chords or long notes, and it makes an amazing Red Barchetta harmonics tone.EH pedals need to bring their prices down a tad other than that an awesome pedal. I play bass through it and it works great. So really great for whatever instrument you want to run through it. Many knob configuration can also let you get some weird sounds out of it.I purchased mine on Amazon under another listing. Took me several days to figure out how to get a pleasing sound out of this pedal. I hated it right out of the box, but it's growing on me. It does great Leslie-style modulation when playing sustained chords or long notes, and it makes an amazing Red Barchetta harmonics tone.In order to navigate out of this carousel please use your heading shortcut key to navigate to the next or previous heading. It might be a bit of work to find a regular chorus sound, if that's what you're after, but it it possible. I like to use it (in Chorus mode) with both Rate and Range set at 9'o'clock, Delay and Feedback off. And the noise possibilities on this pedal are awesome. In any of the 4 modes you can go into self-oscillation by turning the feedback knob all the way up, and get weird noises by moving the other parameters around after that. Over the years, I've seen more confusion, and misinformation on this pedal, than just about any other piece of gear I've read about before. I've owned all three versions of the EHX polychorus, and I feel like I should point out that the unit in the photo here is not the vintage model. It's the big box reissue. Before reviewing the vintage model, I feel that I should point out that the vintage and reissue models, although very similar in appearance, are two completely different circuits, use different BBD's, and sound very different from each other. The vintage model uses two SAD1024A BBD IC's, and the reissue, MN3008 and MN3009 BBD's. Also, the Echoflanger (1977-1979), Polyflange (1979-1980), and vintage Polychorus (1981-closing of EHX) are all exactly the same circuit, marketed with different names. The blend switch turns off the dry portion of the signal when in the off position, for vibrato effects, but with a very slight, but noticeable reduction in volume. As I mentioned before, I have owned all three versions of this pedal, but now only have my original vintage model. Double track mode features a nice short analog slapback delay, that breaks apart in typical analog fashion at higher feedback settings. Don't expect this to replace your delay pedal, even at max delay time, it's probably not much more than 100ms or so. Chorus sounds from this pedal are incredible. Very warm and organic, just how analog should be. Lots of tweakability given that many other chorus pedals don't have controls to adjust delay time, or add in any regeneration. The the width and delay controls are interactive with each other, and can make for a sweep much wider than most traditional chorus and flanger pedals. Flange mode can do anything from subtle to full on jet plane swoosh. The filter matrix mode can be useful for sweeping your frequency around manually and finding a sweet spot to cut through a mix, or at certain settings, coaxing some banjo-esque tones of out your favorite electric guitar. The reissue, while also BBD based, just wasn't as warm and natural sounding as the original to my ears. However, its maximum delay times are a bit longer than the vintage unit, and because of that, when modulated, the ups and downs of the sweep can be VERY extreme, reaching probably a good 4 to 5 steps above and below the original note played. If you're looking for some never before heard, weird avant-garde noise rock worthy sounds, the reissue might be the way to go for you. Oh, that actually reminds me, everyone trying to replicate the Radio Friendly Unit Shifter sound from Nirvana, you're going to want the vintage model (this is where that blend switch shines). While the reissue can make lots of crazy sounds, it can't make that one without the original note droning out over the modulated sound that you hear on the album. Very strong construction. Might be Kurt Cobain's secret weapon, but I've moved it off of my board in favor of others pedals. I still use it in the recording process on occasion. Playing a solo? Flange with wide berth at a ridiculous rate. Rhythm chords? Double Track, with zero feedback. End of the show? Crank every knob to 11 and watch your audience members run out with their ears in their hands. Or set it to Filter Matrix and let it rip through the mix like a saber made of light. It has four selectable modes: Chorus, Flange, Double Track, and Filter Matrix. From the first two modes, you get a lush analog stereo chorus and rich chiming flange, respectively. The Double Track mode gives you a short slapback echo effect, while the Filter Matrix mode lets you disengage the sweep flange adjustment so you can control the flange tones manually. This mini-sized pedal is travel-friendly, lightweight, and leaves lots of room on your pedalboard. It can complement any guitar sound or effect by producing several thirds, fifths and octave notes to control the effects. CNZ Audio designed this chorus effect pedal to be simple even for beginners. Thanks to its incredible effects and tone, advanced users can tweak the controls to make a beautiful tone sound even better. This guitar effects pedal offers up rich, clean, and shimmering chorus tones that can easily be sculpted to your exact tastes via its independent Effect Level, EQ, Rate, and Depth controls. From lush, spacious ambient tones to dizzying psychedelic swirls, you can get whatever chorus tone you’re looking for and more with the Boss CH-1 Super Chorus guitar effects pedal. It’s already a scaled down version of the CE-1, but budget guitar effects brand Ammoon went ahead and made it even smaller, in the form of the CE-Nano Chorus. Like the CE-2, the CE-Nano’s dramatic analog ambiance and dreamy modulated tone are powered by a bucket brigade device. The CE-Nano also features Rate and Depth knobs for tone sculpting. Versatile, reliable, and quiet as a whisper, the CP-13 is the perfect chorus pedal for guitarists working with a shoestring budget. Its two-knob Depth and Rate controls let you create surprisingly versatile chorus effects that fatten up and enhance your guitar’s sound. The Caline Cp-13 Super Chorus comes with a true bypass feature. The parameters Depth and Level are set by two little black knobs, and a larger one is for the rate of the chorus effect. The Tutti Love comes in a mini and durable aluminium-alloy enclosure. It is described as a classic style chorus pedal, so perhaps not very suitable for producing an exaggerated effect. Other features include true bypass for transparent tone and LED indicator that displays the working state.
