Do not use detergents or chemicals other tha n those noted above. Do not use benzene or thinners. Do not use chemical sprays. Use a soft cloth or lens paper only. Repla ce the la mp when: J The image becomes darker a nd hues become wea ker after a la mp ha s been for a long period of time. J The projector la mp LED indicator turns into a mber. Refer to section titled “LED Indicator Messages” (p.30) for further details. J The lamp becomes high temperature after turning off the projector with the power button. If you touch the lamp, you may scald your finger. When you replace the lamp, wait for at least 45 minutes for the lamp to cool down. J Do not touch the la mp gla ss at a ny time. The lamp may explode due to improper ha ndling, including the touching of the lamp gla ss. J La mp lifetime may differ from lamp to la mp a nd according to the environment of use. There is no guara ntee of the same lifetime for e ac h lamp. Some lamps may fail or terminate their lifetime in a shorter period of time tha n other similar la mps. J A la mp may explode a s a result of vibration, shock or degra dation as a result of hours of use a s its lifetime draws to an end. Ris k of explosion may differ according to the environment or conditions in which the projector a n d la mp are being used. J Fa ster on-off-cycles will damage the la mp a nd reduce la mp life. Wait at least for 5 minutes to turn off the projector after powering on. J Do not operate the lamp in proximity to paper, cloth, or other combustible material nor cover it with such materials. Otherwise it could cause a fire. J Do not operate the la mp in a n atmosphere containing a n inflam ma ble substa nce, such as thinner. Otherwise it could cause a fire or explosion. J Thoroughly ventilate the area or the room when operating the lamp in a n oxygen atmosphere (in the air). If ozone is inhaled, it could cause hea dache s, nausea, dizziness, etc. J The inorga nic mercury is involved in the lamp. If the la mp bursts, the mercury inside the lamp will go out of the projector. Leave the area immedi ately if the la mp shatters while being operated a nd ventilate the area for at least 30 minutes in order to avoid the inhalation of mercury fumes. Otherwise it could be harmful to user’s health. Allow the projector to cool for at lea st 45 minutes. 2. Pla ce a protective sheet (cloth) beneath the projector. Turn the projector over so you can a ccess the la mp cover. 3. Loosen the screws on the la mp cover and open it. 4. Loosen the screws on the bottom of the la mp a ssembly. 5. Gra sp the la mp handle a nd pull the la mp a ssembly directly out of the projector. 6. Re pla ce with the new la mp. 7. T ighten the screws on the bottom of la mp a ssembly. 8.
