This finding provides strong support for granting these cues some degree of linguistic status (at least in OGS). With Gigabit Turbo For example, suppose t hat two physical ports, 1 and 2, ar e trunked to form trunk group Trk1, and then Tr k1 is set as one Turbo Ring path, if port 1 gets disconn ected, the remaining trunked port, port 2, will share the traffic. If port 1 and port 2 are both disconnect ed, Turbo Ring will create the ba ck up path with in 300 ms. The Turbo Ring Concept The proprietar y Turbo Ring protocol was developed by M oxa to opti mize comm unication redundancy a nd achieve a faster recove ry time on t he network. Turbo Ring protocol i dentifies one s witch as the “m aster” of the network, and then automatically blocks pac kets from t raveling throug h any of the net work’s redu ndant loops. I n the event that one branch of t his ring get s disconnected from the rest of the ne twork, the Tu rbo Ring protocol automatically readjusts the ring (if possible) so th at the part of the network that wa s disconnected reestablishes contact with the rest of th e network. Initial Setup 1. Select any two ports as redundant ports. 2. Connect the redu ndant ports to fo rm the Tu r b o R i ng You do not need to set the Master to use Turb o Ring. Master is only needed to identify which segment acts as the backup path. The actual topo logy of the redundant ring, i.e., which segment will be blocked, is determined by the number of EDS-510A switches that make up the ring, and where the “Ring Master” is located.
