From you description I would suspect the WAN side of your extender is not talking to the router properly. The end point devices (my iPad and laptop) are connecting to the extenders wireless network well, but I don't think the extender is getting connected to my router correctly. But there was still no Internet on the end devices. What am I doing wrong. Do I need To make Any changes to the wireless or LAN connection settings on network connections in windows? The repeater itself will not ever talk to anything on the internet. Looked at the manual for this device and it does not have much in the way of troubleshooting tools. First make sure you have the DHCP disabled, it will cause you lots of headaches. There are only 2 options that even look promising. First one will display a list of clients. You should see your PC in the list on the repeater. This means at least the wireless on your PC is correct and is talking to the repeater like you think it is. The second one does a site survey and lets you pick the router to connect to. You should see your router in this list when you run it. It appears it will set some of the setting just by doing this selection. Unfortunately I suspect it is this setting connecting to your router where the problem is. There does not appear to be a simple way to see if the repeater is connecting to the router. If you are running WPA or WEP on your main router and the repeater is not using the right keys I do not see how you would know that. You may need to look on your router and see if you are getting errors or if it sees the repeater in the list of its wireless clients. This is very poor design when the device will not tell you if it is connected and if not what it thinks is wrong. I guess thats because one is a router and the other a repeater. If you can't figure it out, get rid of the EW and just find a cheap one at wireless repeater reviews there's some pretty good reviews on there. However if you do get one, I'd stick with just getting a Linksys extender. Keep the brands the same, because that means little trouble for setup. Please remember to be considerate of other members.
