It should make good power, and it did just okay with a Holley 4150 I had on it. This Edelbrock carb made my motor come alive, it’s like a totally different car. Easy to install, and the tune right of the box worked so good I wouldn’t dare mess with it. Runs flawlessly with way more power and smoother than my Holley it replaced. The only adjustment I made was to tweak the idle screw just a little. I changed that only twice with minor adjustments to get it how I wanted it. You can not go wrong in buying this carb for probably any mildly built motor under 400 ci. It is not very often anymore I am this impressed with a product. You can not go wrong with this user friendly, made in The USA product. Thank you Edelbrock!It may have lost a little HP but it runs better and the fuel economy is also slightly better. The one issue that I had was that I needed a riser on the manifold to clear things like the EGR valve, which also needed an extension to clear the carb. The other issue is that with all of this lifting the carb the stock air filter housing will not fit on it anymore with a stock hood. I had to replace it with edelbrock air filter that does fit under the hood. This was all fine until I moved to California and now my car doesn't even pass the visual smog inspection. The air cleaner can't be open to the elements. Anyway if you can work around all of those issues and your don't have a carb that can be rebuilt this is a good carb. You may want to check the serial on your current carb. It may be worth some money and might be better for your car to just get it refurbished.Despite Edelbrock's reputation, I actually thought this was probably going to be a bit of a downgrade in terms of power and performance. Man, was I glad I was wrong. This carburetor isn't just as powerful, but the fact that it is more practical than the Street Demon makes it amazing. My Street Demon was clocked for a 150HP NO dump and was aggressively dialed to burn rich. After installing the Edelbrock, I'm just glad I can burn 87 without having to worry about breaking something. This product has been no less than absolutely satisfactory and I would recommend it to anyone doing a restore for a 350 small block chevy engine. After retiring it from a bit of fun and racing, I'm glad I chose this product to gravitate it to a more practical driving machine without losing any of the power I've spent countless hours putting into the car.Retail Box was absolutely destroyed but was inside of a cardboard box that was fine. All the parts were present and the carb looked good so I purchased it. If you have a chance to purchase through the warehouse deals I would recommend it. Bolted this bad boy up and was driving in a half hour. Nice throttle response and as always, it was super easy to dial the carb in.Replaced the Demon 750 on my moderately built 390 FE on a '68 F250 with this. The Edelbrock is so much simpler to tune and gas mileage greatly increased. Couldn't be easier to install. Great machining and smooth operation. Starts right up and has great driveability.Engine started with no adjustments at all. Got a good deal from Amazon because the box had an oil stain on it.If you have the original intake manifold you will need the Edelbrock adapter and air filter. Use a regular screw to hold the filter in place. The gap between the hood and the filter is minimal. Ideally, you want to install an Edelbrock intake manifold before installing this carb but that is more expensive.After adding a longer bolt for the throttle linkage and plugging 1 vacuum line, it works perfectly and is a huge improvement over the 25-year-old original. In the end, it saved the time it would take to rebuild the old and was cheaper than what it would have been for an exact replacement.Get this one. I have my grandmother’s Impala which is still relatively new and I turned it into a hot rod with a lunati cam performance header performance 650 carb, streetfire distributor, headers, header cutouts, and twin Flowmaster 40s. I want to get the most out of this carburetor and I don’t understand the tuning chart. When and why would I ever move from point number one. Even if you never reply I want you to know you are very much appreciated Because the carb company can’t possibly tune for each engine, they design the system slightly rich hoping it will run fine. Engines will run fine slightly rich in the air-fuel ratio. But by trying a slightly different mixture combo, you might find the engine will respond with better throttle response and perhaps a little better power. Simple one-step-at-a-time experiments will show you which way to go. I have the edelbrock 1906 AVS2 carb. It came with the orange spring installed. Perhaps I will try the pink one. I’ve never messed with the idle circuit on an Edelbrock so I don’t ahve any experience there. “Power” could be defined as the point where the primary power valve spring pushes the metering rod upward. Of course, that would include when the secondaries open too.Your thoughts? Thank you, Jay If so, then either the base gasket or something else in or near teh mounting base is holding the secondaries open.This will hold the needle open and quickly flood the engine. The needle and seat need to be removed and cleaned. I woul also suggest adding a new fuel filter to prevent this from occuring again. Car runs great but throttle response could be better.
