Position T -nuts with cross facing down and hole facing so as to r eceive bolt. Place T -nuts into holes and secur e using two bolts (Figure 1). The design is gorgeous. It appealed to me because a lot of the bassinets out there look kind of frilly and not particularly suitable for a baby boy. The wood frame seems sturdy and I like the neutral colors of the design. Also convenient is the shelf beneath the bassinet itself - it's great for storing diapers, clothes, and extras. The bed is roomy and our baby seems quite comfortable napping in there. One major drawback is that the size of the mattress is too large to fit most standard bassinet sheets you would buy in the store. Luckily I have a creative mother who has made us some sheets for it. The music isn't super great, but I wasn't really in this for the music anyway. Our solution to bad music is just not to use it, but if you are looking for soothing music to go with your bassinet this is probably not the one for you. Just be warned that this is not the case!! If you want to rock the bassinet you must do it yourself. My baby did not like the rocking motion at all and we never used it. We had to purchase another mattress pad to put over the less than one inch, lightweight pad it comes with. We also used the 'snuggle nest' with it which gave her additional padding. When we took the snuggle nest out, the make-shift pad did not really fit snugly and we had to use changing pad covers - which our baby did not find too comfortable. So, we stopped using it. The bassinett does not roll very well on carpet and as a result the wood frame is now wobbly. I did not push it more than 20 or 30 times on the carpet. It's fairly extensive to put together. My husband used to work in a furniture store in college, is an engineer and it took him a few hours. So, let me tell you, it was assembled perfectly. So, keep looking around - although the choices in this category are somewhat limited. I never tried to sleep her in the pack and play, and it seems other people have but wish I had tried. Papaver 3.0 out of 5 stars We have used it for almost 4 months (our son is moving into his crib this weekend). This bassinet definately looks nice and is sturdy and was easy to assemble. The music it plays is annoying and too loud even on the lowest volume, although my son seemed to find it entertaining, but it only once ever put him to sleep. The locks that keep it from rocking are stiff and very loud, so if we have it locked, we can't unlock it to start rocking him when he fusses without startling him awake. But, if we leave it unlocked, it swings very easily and bangs the wall when we try to lay him in it if we don't set him exactly in the middle, then he gets rolled against one side of the bassinet with his face smooshed into the side. Also, it does not have an automatic rocking function, which I really needed at 3am when he fussed unless he was rocking, and my arm was very tired from rocking the bassinet endlessly. If I did it over again, I would get a bassinet that is sturdy and has a motorized rocking feature, and not put such a premium on aesthetic appearance. Also, once the bassinet was assembled, I found parts unsafe. The screws that hold the bassinet in place would loosen almost to the point of falling out when rocked. If you over-tighten, the bassinet won't rock. And, the wheels.If you move the unit, make sure the wheels are still locked in place before you put baby in it. Plus, I knew I was having a boy, so the other options weren't very attractive to me because they were very frilly and kind of girly looking. My son has slept in this bassinet since we brought him home. He loves it! I am actually trying to get him to nap in his crib to get him ready to transition, and he doesn't like that at all, he wants to be in his bassinet. The music is terrible (the only reason for the 4 star rating) but I have to say - my son likes it. And honestly I have gotten used to it, so no big deal. The shelf at the bottom was literally a life saver early on.
