Tijdens het testen van het geheugen blijkt het plankje al iets achter te lopen, maar zodra men de onboard videokaart probeert ondekt men een ware ramp; een Quake3 timedemo duurt bijvoorbeeld bijna een half uur om af te spelen. Tot overmaat van ramp werd het ding ook nog eens onstabiel met een AGP kaart geinstalleerd. PCChips en ECS(zelfde mensen dus) zijn eigenlij tweakersmerken(dat systeem wat ik gebouwt heb draait overigens nu op 1GHz (7.5x133) niet slecht dusVerder wel dezelfde SiS chipset enzo. De SiS730 scoort als chipset in real-world gaming slechts enkele procentjes lager (3-4) dan de VIA chipsets op 133MHz, dus daar hoef je ook niet dramatisch over te doen.Ik heb nu ook een m810lmr, supergoedkoop en het draait prima, ook onder linux (behalve dan dat tuxracer het niet goed doet omdat de agp chipset niet ondersteund wordt). En jammer dat je de multiplier van de cpu niet kan veranderen, alleen de bussnelheid kan je instellen op 100 of 133 Mhz.Waarschijnlijk is de fabrikant meer te spreken over de RealTek-chip. Realtek wordt natuurlijk een stuk beter ondersteund in de OS'en. Je ziet het trouwens wel vaker, zoals een aparte audiochip terwijl ie al in de chipset zit ingebakken.Ik snap wel dat de onboard video niet supersnel is met zijn sis-chipset maar een Geforce 2MX er in en dan nog niet willen lopen vind ik zelf een zeer risicovolle zaak. Ook de performance tegen de MSI K7M133 is echt belachelijk laag. Als je kijkt wat de verschillen zijn tussen de 2 onboard videokaartjes en de 2 MX'en. Ik denk dat dit moederbord nog een eind moet gaan voor stabiliteit en zeker ook snelheid. Maar wat ik me wel afvraag is waarom er nou een AMR en CNR op zit??? Dat lijkt me weinig nut hebben want de kaartjes verkopen bijna niet en de uitvoeringen zijn voor beide wel te krijgen.Daarom zit dat slotje er dus op. Ik heb zo'n plankie, en zat er aan te denken om er een losse GF2MX kaart op te prikken om de videoperformance een beetje te boosten. Toch niet zo'n strak plan zo te lezen.Heb zelf diverse systemen gebouwd met dit bordje, alles liep als een speer. Dus ik denk dat die jongens van socketA de drivers niet goed hebben geinstalleerd (voor de oudere AGP-drivers die je naast de VGA-drivers moet installeren, moet je een nogal vreemde procedure volgen), en de instabiliteit is misschien een ongeschikte voeding ofzo.Aan de andere kant het is wel een SIS Ik heb er veschillende op sample gehad, en aan de hand daarvan een aantal series besteld. Een uitval van meer dan 10 in een levering is toch wel wat veel. Datalines veel te dicht, soms zelfs tegen aardelijnen of schroefgaatjes gelegd.Pc chips is en blijft superlowbudget, en dat merk je uiteindelijk toch ergens.Voor de rest is ie wel stabiel en redelijk snel. En er is zelfs een gemodde tweakbios voor zodat je de geheugensettings kunt veranderen.Tip: je kan je originele post ook aanpassen. Dit is opbouwend bedoeld.Dat si wel leuk om na te lezen voor de geinteresseerden onder ons. Sensation: SiS 735 Beats AMD 760 maar ik zie het nut er niet van in dat je ligt te flamen, want het gaat hier over een review.Het is gewoon heel erg jammer dat deze zo slecht presteert, SIS zou als het goed is met veelbelovende chipsets moeten komen binnenkort, en dan moetden ze eigenlijk wel vantevoren al een redelijk goede naam hebben opgebouwd. Het is natuurlijk jammer dat die Onboard VGA niet lekker loopt, en daarbij natuurlijk het probleem dat als er een andere inzit dat het bord dan instabiel word. Dit bord is ook eerder wat voor een OEM markt, als business PC gezien de grafische capaciteit. Als de AGP bezet is en dan een degelijke soundcard, dan kan je de internet verbinding via de kabel al niet meer goed sharen, want dan mis je dus een PCI slot helaas. Ik denk persoonlijk dat dit idd niet echt een goed doordacht bord is, wat sowieso de nodige BIOS updates nodig heeft voor stabiliteit, dus ik denk dat men het beste kan wachten met aanschaf van dit bord. Thx, sdlomi2 The solution was to pull pin 10 out of the cable (disengage a latch on the connector first) and cover it with heatshrink tubing (electrical tape is also OK but can come unravelled). Testing with a flash drive, it didn't even light up, and it seemed to disable the built in usb ports as well. Had to shut down the system for a couple of minutes to get them working again. She brings it back saying it won't boot. I suspect a CMOS battery so I replace it. But, I still can't get the thing to POST. The manual says short pins 1-2 to clear CMOS, but the mobo doesn't point out which pin is pin 1, and I read a couple other ports on other fora suggesting the documentation is wrong about either a) where pin 1 is or 2) which pins you short to clear the CMOS and which you short for normal operation. So, which pin is pin 1 on JP1 on the rev 1.0 K7SEM, and which pins do I short to clear the CMOS? (I've tried every combination of JP1 and JP3, but no dice). If this doesn't work, does this mean the mobo needs to be replaced? (I've already removed the mobo from the case to rule out case shorts, and I will also use a diff PSU, CPU, and mem card tonight to rule those out, but this is feeling like a CMOS issue to me).
