During an EMR outage, providers and staff members have the ability to address everyday tasks, such as checking provider s schedule, reviewing patient s medical summary, writing prescriptions, and documenting office visits as notes. Nimbus can be accessed through any device with standard web browsing capabilities. No installation is required on the device for using Nimbus. When using this service, patient information can be viewed and updated for days. Data is backed up on Nimbus when the EMR is down, and it is backed up in ecw when the EMR is functioning properly. Providers can enter basic information related to the encounter in Nimbus. A web encounter is created in ecw for a Nimbus encounter. Nimbus Activation Nimbus can be activated from the Product Activation window in eclinicalworks. To activate Nimbus from eclinicalworks application: 1. From the Admin band in the left navigation pane, click Product Activation. The Product Activation window opens. For security reasons, users with weak passwords will be unable to access eclinicalworks Nimbus. Users can change their password from the eclinicalworks EMR by clicking File, and then clicking Change Password. 6. Click OK to continue. A confirmation message displays. If a practice experiences outage in their EMR, they can log into Nimbus using any standard web browser. To access eclinicalworks Nimbus: 1. Once the Nimbus encounters are synced with EMR, they are no longer available to modify in the eclinicalworks Nimbus. If the EMR is functioning properly, new Nimbus encounter form is displayed. The encounter information displays: 3. To change the name of the appointment facility, start typing the name in the Facility field. A list of facilities display. 4. Note: By default, the name of the appointment facility displays in the Facility field. To change the name of the facility, follow steps 2 and 3. The Reason field displays the reason for appointment from the schedule. 5. Enter additional notes related to the encounter, such as physical examination, etc.When the user starts typing an ICD Code or name into the respective fields, a list of assessments matching the entry displays. When the user starts typing a CPT Code or name into the respective fields, a list of procedures matching the entry displays. The user can then select a procedure from the list. The Assigned To field displays the list of providers or staff members configured as user s favorites in ecw. Accessing Nimbus Encounters in eclinicalworks Newly created Nimbus encounters are available in eclinicalworks when the EMR is functioning properly. Note: If the Remind Me box is selected when creating the encounter in Nimbus, the Nimbus encounter is flagged as high priority in eclinicalworks. Ordering Prescriptions from Nimbus Medications can be prescribed from Nimbus. These medications are not sent directly through e- Prescription to the pharmacy. They are first sent to ecw and when the EMR is functioning properly, the prescriptions are then synced with the system and sent out to the pharmacy. Medications can be e-prescribed or faxed from Nimbus. Note: Current Medications list is only available for patients who are on the appointment schedule for the next three days. A list of pharmacy names display. Note: The patient s pharmacy is displayed by default but users can change the name of the pharmacy using steps 2a - 2c. e. Select a pharmacy name. (Optional) To prescribe a medication from the patient s current medication list, select the medication from the displayed list. 4. To select a medication from the drug database, click Add Medication. A list of medications display. b. To allow substitute, click Yes. c. (Optional) Add comments. d. Select the appropriate dosage from the list. e. Click Save to add the medication. 5. Note: Ordered prescriptions are saved in Nimbus when the EMR is down, and are available in ecw when the EMR is functioning properly. Note: If an already created Nimbus Rx order is not synced with EMR due to the downtime of EMR, the current Nimbus Rx order is opened in an editable format. Once the Nimbus Rx orders are synced with EMR, they are no longer available to modify in the eclinicalworks Nimbus. If the EMR is functioning properly, new Nimbus Order Rx form is displayed. Accessing Nimbus Rx Orders in eclinicalworks Newly created Nimbus Rx orders are available in eclinicalworks when the EMR is functioning properly. These orders are available in the following windows: Nimbus e-prescriptions are available in the eprescriptions window accessed through E jelly bean. Nimbus faxed prescriptions are available in the Fax Outbox window accessed from Document band. Note: When the EMR and Fax server are functioning properly, these prescriptions are automatically faxed. Nimbus Rx orders are added to the patient s current medications list. Nimbus Rx orders are saved as locked web encounters. Access these locked encounters from the Patient Hub, Encounters window. Schedule Tasks Tasks can be scheduled to run regularly so that information is synchronized between ecw application and ecw Nimbus.For more information on configuring and running synchronization tasks, refer to the eclinicalmobile Users Guide. EMR Message on Nimbus If the EMR has resumed functioning properly, a message is displayed in green on Nimbus saying EMR is running fine now, along with the date and time: Copyright eclinicalworks, September eclinicalworks Nimbus Users Guide (Beta Version) 23 24 If the EMR is still experiencing an outage, a message is displayed in red saying EMR is down, along with the date and time: Administration An administrator can view logs of users that have accessed Nimbus as well as users that are locked out of EMR. To view logs and locked accounts in Nimbus: 1. Log in to Nimbus as the administrator with the ecw username and password. The Appointment Schedule displays. 2. Click Administrator. The Administrator view displays: 3. Click Logs to view Logs. 4. To grant access to locked users: a. Click Locked Accounts.
