If you’re looking for a kids electric scooter, great. If you’re not, you should take a look at my list of best electric scooters for adults. I know what it’s like when you are trying to make a decision about which electric scooter is best for your needs, whether it’s for yourself or a gift. There are so many review articles on the web but, I felt that none of them really gave a full service and answered all of my questions when I was buying my first electric scooter. That’s why I have decided to share my first hand experiences and hundreds of hours of research to provide you with a comprehensive review of the Razor E100 leaving no stone unturned. So, now we’ve got that covered, let’s get into the nitty-gritty of reviewing the Razor E100.http://www.diamondsinthemaking.com/content/bose-speakers-companion-2-manual Who is it Best For Design Speed Mileage and Battery Performance Weight and Weight Load Foldability and Portability Features and Durability Safety Assembly Pricing and Value For Money Overview of the Razor Brand Review Summary Alternatives Razor E100 FAQs Who is it Best For Will the Razor E100 Be a Good Fit For You. As a Parents’ Choice Award winner, the Razor E100 electric scooter is ideal if you are looking for a kids electric scooter. It has been designed for ages 8 and up, and has been built with a kid-sized deck and frame. The Razor E100 is a great option for beginners that have not used an electric scooter before. It is incredible easy to use, safe to ride and will give your child endless hours of fun. As you would expect from an electric scooter that has been designed for kids, it is visually appealing and bright in color. In fact, the E100 is available in a range of colours including; black, blue, red, purple and sweet pea (pink), meaning you’ll be able to find the perfect color for your little one, whether they are a boy or girl. The Razor E100 has a top speed of 10 mph. 10 mph is generally on the slower side of the speed scale. Some electric scooters can reach up to 18 mph. However, considering the E100 is a kids electric scooter, a slower speed is preferable (depending on age). The top speed of 10 mph will let your child have fun, safely gliding around the block, but also give you reassurance that they can’t go too fast. The Razor E100 has a continuous run time of 40 mins. If you do that math, that equates to about 5-7 miles. This is, from experience, more than enough to satisfy and entertain your kid before they get bored and play with another one of their toys. Also, this environmentally-friendly electric scooter is powered by a super quiet 100W chain driven motor which will be applauded by your neighbors. Due to its kids-sized frame and deck, the Razor E100 is one of the lightest electric scooters in the Razor range. In total, it weighs 29 lb s.http://www.friendshiptransport.net/images/canon-pixma-ip6000d-service-manual.pdf Again, because the E100 has been designed for kids between 8 and 12 years of age, it can support riders up to 120 lbs. If are worried that the weight limit of 120 lbs is not enough, but you like the Razor brand then I would recommend the Razor E300 (it can support up to 220 lbs). Above I mentioned that the Razor E100 is one of the lightest electric scooters in the Razor range, weighing 29 lbs. With that in mind, the Razor E100 is easy enough to carry around. However, it does not have a folding mechanism. You can dismantle the handlebars from the scooter to make it smaller if you need to store the scooter in a trunk or want to save space in your house, which is great, but this will require an allen wrench. From experience, kids don’t need to have a scooter that they can fold and carry. Having a scooter that is light, can be easily folded and carried is more of a requirement for adult electric scooters, especially for commuters. As long as kids can have fun riding the electric scooter round the neighborhood, the need to be able to fold and carry it becomes redundant. Aside from the top speed of 10 mph, run time of 40 minutes and range of color options, the Razor E100 also has: An easy to use twist grip throttle 8 inch tires to ensure a smooth riding experience Hand operated brake on the handlebar for safety Kickstand Parent’s Choice Award winner Thanks to its robust design, the Razor E100 has been built to withstand the wear and tear that would expect on a kids electric scooter. Razor are well known for their quality products and from my personal experience, I would agree. If you want an electric scooter that is going to last for a long time then you can’t go wrong with the Razor E100. The Razor E100 has been equipped with a hand operated brake on the handlebars which can be easily pulled to bring the scooter to a safe stop. This may seem like something that you would automatically expect an electric scooter to have but, from my experience, some scooters actually have a rear brake at the back of the scooter deck that you have to press with your foot to activate, seems crazy, right. One thing that not many people know about the Razor E100 is that the scooter has been designed to cut power to the motor when the hand brake is applied. Overall, you be can confident that your kid will be safe while riding the E100. I mentioned assembly earlier in the review but to recap, yes it does. I didn’t think I’d have to assembly it’. Well, don’t get too carried away. You’ll be glad to know that it’s not like putting together a piece of IKEA flat pack furniture. Instead, all you need to do is slide the handlebars into the front post above the front wheel, and tighten the collar clamp with an allen wrench. You’ll be glad to know that the Razor E100 is the cheapest electric scooter on the market. After all, it won the award for Parent’s Choice. There are so many brands popping up selling electric scooters that it can seem overwhelming knowing which brands you can trust. Generally, there are 3 established brands which dominate the market, these are Razor, GoTrax and Swagtron. To put this into perspective, Razor are the worldwide leaders in scooters. They have sold a staggering 34 million scooters (13 million of those were electric) and won multiple awards for their quality and innovation. So, can you trust them. I’ll let you decide. Considering that the Razor E100 is the cheapest electric scooter on the market, comes from an established and reputable brand, and will provide guaranteed fun for your child, I rate the the E100 extremely highly. I have reviewed a lot of scooters but the Razor E100 is by far the standout model for both boys and girls. If you want your child to step away from the screen, get out into the fresh air and have fun being a kid, then you can’t go wrong with the Razor E100. Razor E100 Award: Parents Choice The Razor E100 is the Parents Choice Award for kids electric scooters. Below I have listed 2 alternatives to the Razor E100 electric scooter. Both alternatives are good options for younger kids, teenagers and adults. They are all-round models. While Razor don’t often sell their own scooters on their own website, they do partner with online retailers. I’ve found that Overstock.com is often the best place for Razor scooters. They have a vast range of scooters and you can often find a good deal as they have regular sales. Also, Overstock.com have a dedicated customer service team that you can easily contact to answer any questions you may have. Does the Razor E100 Come With a Warranty. That goes for all Razor electric scooters. Can I Purchase Replacement Parts? Yes. Because Razor is a global brand, you can easily find replacement parts. Although, I doubt you’ll have to. Typically, the part that you may need to replace is the battery. But, with that being said, I think it’s highly unlikely that you’ll need to do this unless you absolutely run the scooter into the ground by riding it consistently every day of every week. Is There an Owners Manual? Yes. You should receive the owner’s manual with the scooter. But, if you don’t, you can find the Razor E100 owners manual here. How Do I Install the Razor E100 Battery. Installing the battery is extremely simple. All you have to do is: Using a Phillips screwdriver to remove the six screws holding the deck plate in place Again, use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws holding the battery strap Connect the battery wire connector to the control module Screw the battery strap and deck plate back into place Install complete Does the Razor E100 Need to be Serviced. Where Can I Do It? It’s up to you whether you want to service your scooter or not. There is no obligation to do so, it’s totally down to personal preference. If you decide that you would like service your Razor E100 to make sure it is in tip top condition, like you would with your car, then Razor have a network of service centers where you can do this. There are companies that offer such fun contraptions not only to adults, but to kids as well. One such company is Razor and one of its most successful electric scooters is called E100. Now, keep in mind that the E100 is made for children aged eight and above. With that in mind, its top speed is limited to 10 mph for obvious reasons, but it comes in a wide range of lively colors, which is good to see, considering that most e-scooters these days - the adult-focused ones, that is - display the same matte black coating. We also believe this is the perfect introduction a kid can get into the world of electric scooters before moving on to something that packs more performance. Now, it does come in a handful of lively colors, as we pointed above, with some of them being yellow, blue, or even pink. The handlebar is pretty basic, with the hand-operated brake occupying the left bar and the twist-grip throttle being positioned on the right-side bar. There are no suspensions and the rear tire is made of urethane, which means it’s solid. Of course, the price range being so low, it’s impossible to ask for more in terms of fancy wheels or suspension, but given that your kid will mostly ride the E100 around the park (where asphalt is theoretically smoother than elsewhere), the E100 can do without them. Otherwise, the e-motor will not engage. Oh, and the battery pack can be removed and swapped for a new one, but it’s best that you let an adult do that and not a kid. You know, safety reasons and all that. And no, the Razor E100 is not foldable, so you’ll have to find a way to safely store it. The E100 uses a 24V battery pack that combines two 12V batteries located beneath the deck. This setup, says the manufacturer, allows for a continuous riding time of 40 minutes, which should be more or less the equivalent of, let’s say, 6 or 7 miles at most.Back then, his father brought home a Trabant 601 Kombi and a few years later, a Wartburg 353. As time went on, he started seeing that in other cars as well, and his love for the automobile was born. Quibb 5.0 out of 5 stars Now, When I say ready to use, That doesnt mean stick them in and go.That is not how it works. In my case I was buying them for a razor scooter e100. I knew when I bought these batteries because I looked at the scooter it was not plug and play, If your buying these (Or any) batteries for the razor, they are not going to just plug in.It really eats at me when someone provides a product then gets blasted because the consumer didnt do there homework. If you know before hand what you need and what you have to do, these batteries are perfect, in fact, we have two scooters we bought at exactly the same time, one was never right from day one. Now, they are almost identical, even in speed, which they never were before.Would purchase again in a heartbeat. After opening the battery compartment, I took pictures of the original connection before disassembling it. The old wires needed to be removed and cut from the old battery so I can reuse it. It was glued heavily to the battery's terminals and was well insulated. I used electrical tape. Add more insualtion for safety. Then the scooter would operate for only about 10 minutes even with a overnight charge and the charger indicator showing green. Upon testing i found one battery would not charge. Contacted AAA Security via email and they notified me that i would have to send battery back at my expense to be tested. If battery proves to be defective they will ship a new one free of cost, if not i would have to eat the cost. Contemplated for a couple of weeks and decided to send it to them because i was sure battery was bad. AAA notified me that the battery was defective and sent a replacement. Great to know this company will stand by their word on the 1 year warranty.I was given a E125 scooter but didn't know it wasn't in working condition. I figured it was the battery. I ordered this product and received it in a timely manner. Something to note: If you do not know how to solder then do not order this product. I have this knowledge and it worked great for me. Granted, it's not difficult to solder, there are reviews from people that do not know this and complain about the batteries. I've has this for three months now and they still work great!I found these for a good price. It takes some soldering to remove the old batteries from the wires and again to install these batteries to the new wires. There's no plug-n-play here. Not the fault of these batteries but the manufacturer of the scooter. After installation, they charged quickly and the scooters are back in full use again. I think these batteries may charge a little faster and last a little longer than the original ones that came with the scooters. Time will tell if they will last but so far I'm very happy with the purchase.Thats not the fault of the amazon vendor though, From the factory on the razor scooter the wiring is solderd directly to the battery,, But its easy. (Would be a good project to learn to solder on) Honestly though for the price, thats fine. If you want plug and play, you are going to pay more, simple as that, because they would have to include wiring too. Once you do that, click on the device symbol for the E10, it will say it is a SPDIF Interface properties on the box. Change Sample Rates on Supported Formats Tab to 96.0 kHz and on the Advanced tab choose the output at 2 Channel, 24bit 96000HZ.The punch, power and control is remarkably close in performance to the headphone output of the ?800 Benchmark DAC in my main system. The difference is the E10 goes everywhere my Macbook does. It's beautifully made (seriously, it's as well put together as stuff from Ray Samuels Audio) and at ?60 is frankly ridiculously good value for money. You can buy one of these with total confidence and I guarantee that if you're using computer sourced music, you WILL get a big improvement. Given that a half decent dedicated converter will cost about ?100, the E10 is almost too good to be true. Highly, highly recommended.Using it is pretty foolproof, just plug in the cables you need to use and it works. I'm connecting it to a W7 64bit Dell Latitude, and it appears in my list of audio devices as a type of SPDIF interface. I've been feeding it with flac's via VLC, having selected the appropriate output interface. The sound sounds good to me. I don't count myself an audiophile, but it's certainly oodles better than the crappy output from the laptop, which is the whole point of the thing. I've got a Xonar DX in my main box, and it's fair to say that it's a match for that - different, but not worse. I expected not to like the bass boost, bass isn't really my thing, but it seems to do a decent job - it doesn't dull or distort the rest of the sound unduly, it just hits the bass. However, there's one crucial warning. This thing can suffer from EMI. That's Electromagnetic Interference, not the record label:). I was very annoyed with the thing for a short while, when I thought that after initially seeming to be great, it had started generating serious distortion, affecting both phones out and line out. After further testing, it seems highly probable that it was EMI rather than distortion introduced by the device. I can state with confidence that DECT phones interfere with it, as I have two on my desk here and the sound is lousy if they are in range, but that wasn't the source in my office, so there are other possible sources too. Fortunately I have eliminated the wireless mouse and wireless headphones as candidates. I don't know about WiFi though, I've not tested properly to eliminate that. Build quality was, I thought, not really so great. Yes, it was solid, yes everything worked. But the SPDIF RCA was at a 15 degree angle, the phones socket and bass boost switch were slightly misaligned, and the blue LED seemed to be illuminating the volume pot more by accident than design. Is it worth the price ? Yes. Provided you watch out for the EMI, it does what it says on the tin - makes your laptop sound good. The setup process is very simple and aided nicely by a helpful leaflet - just plug the included USB cable from the box to your computer, tweak your audio output device settings a little and then you're ready to go. For my cheap and functional little netbook, the headphone output was absolutely awful with my Grado headphones - through the FiiO E10, the difference is like night and day. Superb clarity, with the vocals and drums of my demo tracks distinctively ringing through. Running the gauntlet of my stock test tracks (including 128kbps MP3, 320kbps MP3 and lossless FLAC files) provides me with nothing but a pleasing experience - Blondie's Debbie Harry sounds nasal but not agonising, Metallica and Pantera sound uncompromisingly heavy, Faith No More are as hugely operatic and powerful as they are supposed be (with Bill Gould's bass punching through remarkably), and Lady GaGa sounds fantastically overproduced. No complaints. Detailed, balanced sound with no noise or hissing whatsoever, and my experience with vastly more expensive equipment (alas, not my own equipment!
