Edit: Also, with these symptoms, i think the amplifier part is working good. Could that possibly be it? And, the hum is still there even without any cables connected. I ruled out the possibility of io-s board being the culprit, by running it with the board disconnected. Now what remains are the main board and another one with the display. The main board has a lot of components, so it is a lot difficult to even identify what could be wrong. But, can weak capacitors cause this hum sound?? I'm really doubting some capacitors gone weak, but there are no bulging ones or that with leaking electrolytes. And as i mentioned it runs fine with dvds or cds playing, the amplifier part of the main board is good. So i think i just need to test the rest of the components. But what could be the best way to test capacitors?? Is it just touching with multimeter in continuity mode and see some values change for an instant, or is there a better way? So I just took it to a local service centre and they are now checking it out.
