Great engine, especially for the price. My only problem is that the head is a little too large for my glow plug igniters to reach all the way to the glow plug, but was easily fixed by buying a longer driver. DuBro makes them. Other than that, it’s perfect. Plenty of power, performs as well if not better then more expensive engines. A great value. I definitely recommend. Review by Worc1 on 5 Aug 2010 review stating Torque out the wazoo. I just placed this engine in my 2007 Aftershock after trying an Axial 0.28. The break-in instructions were easy to follow and after about the 3rd tank the engine started to show it's color. On about tank 10 and some tuning the truck was doing wheelies when punched from half-throttle. It has a lot of torque throughout it's range. It seems to like to run a little rich which is fine by me. It grabbed the attention of the local track owner, he was able to clear a high triple and said he's be happy to race it against th truggies.enough said there! It's too early to see how long it will last but so far I am thrilled with Big Red (especially at it's price point). Using the Proper Fuel and Glow Plug Using the proper fuel and glow plug is critical in order to achieve maximum performance and reliability. Never use any type of model airplane glow fuel. We recommend DYN2814 as an excellent choice for a quality air cleaner. Carburetor Adjustments Your Mach.28 engine comes equipped with a precision slide-valve carburetor. Take a moment to review the pictures below to familiarize yourself with the various functions of the carb. Loosening the nut located on the side of the crankcase under the carburetor body will allow you to rotate the carburetor. Make certain to mount the throttle arm to the side required by your particular vehicle. Fuel Inlet (Adjustable) Leaner Faster Idle (clockwise) High-Speed Needle Valve Slower Idle (counterclockwise) Low-Speed Needle Valve Leaner Idle Stop Adjustment Although preset at the factory, some changes in the needle setting can occur during shipping and handling. Low-Speed Needle: 2 turns out (counterclockwise) from closed. When checking the adjustment of the low-speed needle, it is crucial that the throttle slide is closed completely when turning the needle and that you do not over-tighten the needle. When you feel resistance in the needle, immediately stop turning and begin turning the needles counterclockwise, counting the number of turns from “closed.” Starting Your Engine for the First Time The first start of your engine is the most critical time of the engine’s life, dictating how well it will perform.http://www.jnejendomsdrift.dk/userfiles/corel-painter-x-manual-espa-ol.xml After installing the engine in your model and inserting the glow plug, turn on your radio system and attach a glow igniter to the glow plug. When using a recoil starter, never pull the rope out to its full length, as doing so may cause damage and recoil starter failure. Quick, short pulls of the recoil starter are the best technique to use. Never extend the starter rope more than 12 inches. Should the pull-starter be extremely difficult to pull (will not extend out of the assembly), the engine may be flooded (hydro-locked). Excess fuel between the cylinder head and piston will not allow the piston to travel through its full range of compression, effectively “locking up” the engine. Should this occur, immediately remove the glow igniter from the plug. Using a quality glow plug wrench (DYN2510), remove the glow plug and turn the model upside down. Give the recoil starter a few short pulls to clear out the fuel, re-install the glow plug and start again. We recommend using an electric starter or starter box for the initial starts, even with a pull-start equipped engine. Never start an engine above 1 ?4 throttle! Immediate damage to your engine can and will occur. Consume the entire first two tanks of fuel in this manner. It generally takes about 5 or 6 tanks of fuel before you’d want to start tuning for “maximum” power. Do not skip this process of breaking in a new or rebuilt engine. Should you choose not to follow these procedures, you risk damaging your engine during the first tank of fuel. Your patience during these procedures will be rewarded by an engine that performs reliably and to its maximum power potential. First run attempts can be more frustrating than with other (less powerful) sport engines, so take your time—it will be worth the wait. Glow plug failure is a common occurrence when breaking in a new engine. To test your plug, let the engine idle at a properly adjusted low-speed needle setting with the glow igniter attached. If the engine loads up and the rpm’s decrease, it’s time to replace the glow plug. Setting the Needle Valves When tuning the needle valves for maximum performance, adjust them is small increments, 1 ?8 turn at a time. An engine should not be run too lean; doing so severely shortens the life of the engine. When an engine is set too lean, it will run very strong at first but will soon begin to sag and hesitate or stall when accelerating. The best way to tune an engine is by using an infrared temperature gauge, but you can also use water to check the head temperature. (Refer to “Tuning the High-Speed Needle” below.) Tuning the High-Speed Needle To obtain the correct high-speed needle setting, start the engine and drive your vehicle around for a minute or two, applying full throttle for periods of 5 seconds or more. Place a drop of water on the cylinder head. If the water sizzles away (evaporates immediately) the needle setting is too lean. If the water does not evaporate, chances are good that the needle setting is too rich. Check the temperature each time you change the needle mixture. Do not let the engine overheat, as this will damage the engine. Tuning the Low-Speed Needle The low-speed needle (also referred to as the idle mixture or idle needle) should be set after you’re satisfied with the high-speed needle setting. It just won't idle, and any blip of the throttle will stall instantly. I've tried returning to the default setting of 3.5 turns for the HSP and 2 turns for the LSP, with a 1mm idle gap, but this just doesn't work at all. Could I please have any suggestion on what to try, engine is sealed well with no leaks, plugs changed, throttle set well, new fuel (25), but still nothing. Either full speed or stalls on any throttle. Sounds rich but any leaning and it won't start at all, not ever. Could I please any any suggestions on what to do or possible try. What are the default settings. I have the manual that came with the engine, but using those settings just won't work, unless you set the throttle EPA to maximum it'll either scream or stall. My only goal was to reach the point when I come off full throttle, wait for the idle to die a bit, then step down further to an lumpy idle, but this just doesn't seem possible with an idle gap of 3 or 4mm. Any smaller it'll stall. On the road, it'll die heavily on full throttle then pick up and scream, but either dies badly on full throttle or stalls. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Steven If I pinch the fuel line it dies so instantly you don't even think you squeezed that much?Keep the glow driver connected until the engine warms up. Two, what glow plugs are you using. What fuel? Is the fuel fresh? I suspext this; either the needle settings are too rich (very likely as most factory settings are), needle too lean (rarely the case’with new engines. Use long reach medium heat plugs. If the engine quits with the glow driver connected, it’s pretty damn rich. The engine will quit if the idle is way too rich (crankcase loading) or too lean (starvation). The sound is usually pretty typical. Also, your idle gap is too large for regular running. Mike 4.0 out of 5 stars For the time being I'd like to warn anyone who buys this engine to check the factory needle settings before trying to run it. No wonder why it didn't want to start or idle. Update: The break in is complete and I've run about ten tanks of fuel through this engine so far. It starts easy and has been holding its tune with no problems. I don't have any higher end engines to directly compare it to but I'm very happy with the power this engine puts out. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a low dollar engine to go budget racing or bashing.Installed and messed with for 4 hours straight to try to get to it to start. Took it out, put the old tired motor back in and it fired right up.I have ran about three gallons after break in and it runs strong. It is the only area featuring an enemy formation containing six enemies ( Battery Cap x6) whose four laser attack builds Limits quickly, and contains the enemy Valron, who can be manipulated and whose Gravity-based Dive Kick attack quickly fills a character's Limit gauge.Once the party has acquired the submarine, the Unknowns in the sunken Gelnika can be battled to rapidly fill up Limit gauges.A sufficiently-leveled Restore Materia containing the Regen, or at high enough levels, the Fury Ring to keep the party in Berserk, can make gaining kills quick and easy.This is a quicker way to get other characters to use their Limit Breaks to learn new ones, and is a net gain of one Limit Break when her team mates' Limit Levels are set to 2. It is even better if they are set to 3, as her Level 2 gauge fills faster. If Aeris's full Limit gauge is withheld, the player can wait for the other two characters to use their Limit commands before Aeris uses hers so there is no wasted build-up.Damage is halved when characters are in the back row; characters can be moved from the front to the back row during combat with the button command Change. The Manipulate Materia can be used to apply known and measured amounts of damage to characters from hard-hitting enemies with little risk. Players can use the Hyper item, normally intended to cure Sadness, to exploit the Fury status to gain Limit Breaks quicker.To calculate the increase from an attack, the system multiplies the damage by 300, divides the result by the character's maximum HP, rounds down to the nearest integer, multiplies the result by 256, then multiplies by 2 if the character is in Fury or 0.5 if the character is in Sadness, and finally divided by a Limit constant that depends on the individual character and which Limit Level he or she using, and rounded down again.Tifa has the lowest constant on Level 1 at 120, and on Level 4, she has the highest of 566.This also applies for Cloud and Tifa on their second Limit, while Red XIII and Yuffie lie just beneath having to lose 99.6 of their HP. At this level Cait Sith only has to lose 59.8. If the player has the Fury status, under no Limit Level would they have to lose more than their maximum HP.I don't know whether those items really exist. Cloud Each character other than Cait Sith has a Limit Break manual, which teaches their Level 4 Limit Break. These items give no indication in-game whom they belong to, nor what their use is for, although the way they are obtained can be a strong indication. If the player attempts to use a wrong manual on a character, they will comment on it not being the right one.This means if the second Limit Break of a Limit Level is not learned, the player will have to go back and learn it.Driving it into the Costa del Sol buildings allows passage aboard the cargo ship to Junon. Cloud Most inflict damage to one or all enemies based on the same stats as an ordinary attack, albeit multiplied. Others use different variables to calculate the damage, and a number of them also inflict statuses to either enemy or party.Vincent's four Limit Breaks each can use two abilities, giving him eight different abilities. Cait Sith's first Limit Break is one ability, and his second one has eight results. Cait Sith can summon one of sixteen summons, and use one of seven abilities in Toy Box, technically giving him a total of 29 abilities. So while Cait Sith and Vincent both have the fewest Limit commands, they have the most Limit Breaks. Also, since Tifa doesn't select a Limit to use, it could be said that she doesn't have any sub-commands, just the main Limit command.Through use of the GameShark, Sephiroth's and Young Cloud's Limit Break will display Vincent's and Cait Sith's respectively, however, it is not possible to use them. Every time the player enters a battle with one of these characters in their party, their Limit gauge will be empty.Thus, if the character's damage is high enough, using a Limit Break that deals more hits may do more damage, even if it is a lower level limit.His ultimate Limit Break, Omnislash, is among the most powerful moves in the game. Aeris's ultimate Limit Break requires a bit of work to find and teach, but fully heals the party and makes them invincible.His later Limit Breaks hit multiple enemies, and his ultimate Limit Break, Cosmo Memory, hits all enemies for almost eight times damage, allowing it to easily do 9,999 damage at a relatively low level.This Modifier cannot exceed 100.She learns her Limit Breaks slightly quicker than other party members.
