dynam 30a esc manualIf your new Dynam aircraft's motor and ESC are not behaving correctly, or are making stuttering noises, or is otherwise not spooling up smoothly, please see this video: Would you like to be taken to our european site instead where delivery costs to EU will be cheaper. I made a video for programming it. The video is for a Dynam Helicopter but the information I give is useful for anyone who has this ESC. I have this same ESC on another 450 helicopter. I had purchased the ESC from dealextreme. Dynam 40A ESC at Dealextreme Here's a link to the Dynam ESC manual: In the BRAKE settings, it should be wait for the 4 beeps (not 5). And each time you do it, it TOGGLES the setting Here's the vid: In desperation, I tried programming the Dynam 18A ESC by following the instructions and Lo.You select the item by moving the stick to throttle closed within 3secs of hearing the selector tone. You will then hear a four note musical tone and you are back in the 8 tone loop. 4. Exit programming Wait till you get the Exit tone (beep----beep----). Close the throttle within 3 secs. Maybe you can make an extended video which shows all of this?In hind sight, I think the main reason I think so many people struggle with programming the ESC with the original Dynam TX is the bind procedure and the throttle cut toggle switch. My kit also included additional troubleshooting paperwork alluding to this theory. We reserves the rights to entertain requests received thereafter. Connections: The speed controller can be connected to the motor by direct soldering or with high quality connectors. Always use new connectors, which should be soldered carefully to the cables and insulated with Heat shrink tubing. It is possible to extend the cables to the motor battery pack up to a maximum of 8 inches. Plug the 3 Pin connector into the receiver throttle channel. Switch Battery E lec t ron ic Spe Co ntr olle r ed Motor Receiver THR. Installing the Controller: Install the speed controller in the model so that it is isolated from vibration and shock, using Velcro or double sided foam tape. Allow space around it for cooling. Make sure that there is sufficient cooling of the motor and speed controller by ducting air through adequate cooling holes from the outside airflow. Main power packs should be connected at one attempt. 3 !Locate the controller to Avoid multiple touches of the connectors when installing a fresh motor battery pack.https://events.citeve.pt/chat-conversation/bose-radio-user-manual For Dynam Radios program the Servo Reverse function on the throttle channel. Set the throttle to closed or brake position !Switch on the speed controller. For speed controllers without BEC, switch on the power to receiver. !You must hear a 'beep'. Between switching on the switch and the 'beep' the throttle stick must not be moved. If you do not hear a 'beep', switch off the switch, disconnect the power connectors, wait for 5 seconds and repeat the procedure of connecting and switching on. !If you do not hear 'beep' again, check the following: 1). 4 Is 3 Pin connector plugged in throttle channel? 2).Is the throttle stick in closed position (OFF)? 3).Is the throttle channel in 'normal' position? !You will hear the 'beep' during the first switch-on of the controller only. When you switch-off the speed controller without disconnecting the motor battery pack, you will not hear the beep after next switch-on. !The position of 'full throttle' will be adjusted automatically !Warning: Once the Motor Battery Pack is connected, handle the model with extreme care. Ensure that you are well clear of the propeller at all times. Rotating propellers are extremely dangerous! ! Always Connect the motor battery pack just before flight and disconnect it immediately after landing the model. !Warning: Even when the switch is 'off' remember the Motor Battery pack may be connected, handle the model with extreme care and stay well clear of the Propeller! 5 Setting the Propeller Brake On or Off !The speed controller is supplied with the 'brake' activated. If you want to turn off the brake, do the following: 1).Switch on the transmitter and move the stick to full throttle. 2).Connect the main power pack and turn on the receiver switch (if used). 3).Wait 5 seconds. 4).After 5 seconds you will hear 5 single beeps. 5).Swiftly move the throttle stick to the closed position; you will hear two beeps. 6).The brake is now turned off. Setting the Timing Mode !https://jagatex.pl/images/canon-ixy-digital-camera-manual.pdfIt is possible to set two timing modes with these speed controllers. 1).soft timing-for 2,4,6, pole motors. Soft timing gives maximum efficiency. 2).Hard timing only for 6 and more pole motors. !Hard timing increases both the motor revolutions and the current (up to 20).If the temperature of the batteries, speed controller and motor are below 50 C degrees following the first flights it is possible to test the system using the hard timing mode. It depends on which occurs first. !Temperature overload protection is built into the speed controller, it turns off the motor when the temperature reaches100 C. !These speed controllers are equipped with protection functions that take care of correct start and operation of the motor across the whole range of RPM, Current and Voltage. 8 !Do Not connect the speed controller to just 'any' kind of power source. Take care to ensure the right polarity of NiCd or Ni MH power packs only. !Do not connect the motor battery to the wrong polarity, the speed controller will be severely damaged. !Controllers connected to the wrong battery polarity, WILL NOT be covered under the warranty. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness. Once the key is removed, the ESC will arm when it receives the low throttle command on the traditional throttle line.If the key is inserted while the motor is running, the ESC will go into the ARM LOCKOUT state stopping the motor from running and preventing the ESC from arming. If the key is placed in the socket or the arm lock socket loses power, the ESC will go into a locked state — even if it is running. ESC must receive low throttle signal to arm and run.It is not intended to replace safe practices or careful handling of your RC power system, vehicle, and transmitter.Edge Arm Lock is only operational if you have successfully configured the Edge ESC using Castle Link software.Edge Arm Lock requires that the AUX LINE of the Edge ESC receives a voltage between 1.8V and 8.4V to arm. Failure of the power source (0 volts) will cause the ESC to enter ARM LOCKED mode. Very easy to program the ESC at home or at the flying field. 4 Programmable Items MANUAL The series is tuned and optimized for the KDE Direct XF Multi-Rotor Brushless Motor Series, No additional throttle calibration is required for most Note: the new KDE Direct XF UAS Multi-Rotor Electronic Speed Controller (ESC) is optimized for multi-rotor applications The series is For maximum stability and Brushless Motor response capability. Unsourced material may be challenged and removed. It may also provide reversing of the motor and dynamic braking. Miniature electronic speed controls are used in electrically powered radio controlled models. Full-size electric vehicles also have systems to control the speed of their drive motors. A brushed motor can have its speed controlled by varying the voltage on its armature. (Industrially, motors with electromagnet field windings instead of permanent magnets can also have their speed controlled by adjusting the strength of the motor field current.) A brushless motor requires a different operating principle. The speed of the motor is varied by adjusting the timing of pulses of current delivered to the several windings of the motor. Brushless motors are popular with radio controlled airplane hobbyists because of their efficiency, power, longevity and light weight in comparison to traditional brushed motors.Computer-programmable speed controls generally have user-specified options which allow setting low voltage cut-off limits, timing, acceleration, braking and direction of rotation. Reversing the motor's direction may also be accomplished by switching any two of the three leads from the ESC to the motor. Many modern ESCs support nickel metal hydride, lithium ion polymer and lithium iron phosphate batteries with a range of input and cut-off voltages. The type of battery and number of cells connected is an important consideration when choosing a battery eliminator circuit (BEC), whether built into the controller or as a stand-alone unit. A higher number of cells connected will result in a reduced power rating and therefore a lower number of servos supported by an integrated BEC, if it uses a linear voltage regulator. A well designed BEC using a switching regulator should not have a similar limitation. In some cases it is possible to change the factory built-in firmware for an alternate, publicly available, open source firmware. This is done generally to adapt the ESC to a particular application. Some ESCs are factory built with the capability of user upgradable firmware. Others require soldering to connect a programmer. ESC are usually sold as black boxes with proprietary firmware. The energy draw is usually measured in kilowatts (the Nissan Leaf, for instance, uses an 160 kilowatt motor that produces up to 340 Nm torque ). Most mass-produced electric cars feature ESC's that capture energy when the car coasts or brakes, using the motor as a generator and slowing the car down. The captured energy is used to charge the batteries and thus extend the driving range of the car (this is known as regenerative braking ). In some vehicles, such as those produced by Tesla, this can be used to slow down so effectively that the car's conventional brakes are only needed at very low speeds (the motor braking effect diminishes as the speed is reduced). The car may only have one gear ratio, and the motor simply runs in the opposite direction to make the car go in reverse. Some electric cars with DC motors also have this feature, using an electrical switch to reverse the direction of the motor, but others run the motor in the same direction all the time and use a traditional manual or automatic transmission to reverse direction (usually this is easier, since the vehicle used for the conversion already has the transmission, and the electric motor is simply installed in place of the original engine).Electric bicycle controllers generally use brake application sensors, pedal rotation sensors and provide potentiometer-adjustable motor speed, closed-loop speed control for precise speed regulation, protection logic for over-voltage, over-current, and thermal protection. Sometimes pedal torque sensors are used to enable motor assist proportional to applied torque and sometimes support is provided for regenerative braking but infrequent braking and the low mass of bicycles limits recovered energy.Pulse usually relates to a magnet and sensor which measures the rotational velocity of the crank. The regulator may be linear or switched mode. ESCs, in a broader sense, are PWM controllers for electric motors. The ESC generally accepts a nominal 50 Hz PWM servo input signal whose pulse width varies from 1 ms to 2 ms. When supplied with a 1 ms width pulse at 50 Hz, the ESC responds by turning off the motor attached to its output. A 1.5 ms pulse-width input signal drives the motor at approximately half-speed. When presented with 2.0 ms input signal, the motor runs at full speed.Controls designed specifically for racing and even some sport controls have the added advantage of dynamic braking capability. The ESC forces the motor to act as a generator by placing an electrical load across the armature. This in turn makes the armature harder to turn, thus slowing or stopping the model. Some controllers add the benefit of regenerative braking. It is also used in quadcopters. If the power coming from the battery is insufficient to continue running the electric motor the ESC will reduce or cut off power to the motor while allowing continued use of ailerons, rudder and elevator function. This allows the pilot to retain control of the airplane to glide or fly on low power to safety. The watertight structure is significantly different from that of non-marine type ESCs, with a more packed air trapping enclosure. Thus arises the need to cool the motor and ESC effectively to prevent rapid failure. Most marine-grade ESCs are cooled by circulated water run by the motor, or negative propeller vacuum near the drive shaft output. Like car ESCs, boat ESCs have braking and reverse capability. These craft depend entirely on the variable speed of the motors driving the propellers.A variety of ESC protocols beyond PWM are utilized for modern-day multirotors, including, Oneshot42, Oneshot125, Multishot, and DShot. DShot is a digital protocol that offers a certain advantages over classical analog control, such as higher resolution, CRC checksums, and a lack of oscillator drift (removing the need for calibration). This is however not the case for model trains with digital steering systems allowing multiple trains to run on the same track with different speed at the same time.Retrieved 2010-11-06. Small, powerful, and a perfect match for 3010B Charger. Powerful enough for fast charging most sport small and medium size packs, and enough to charge the big 10s 5000s at 1c. Not shown in the image is that peak values for amps and watts are displayed as well. Handy for computing max current draw and full throttle. Also has a built in servo tester so you can hook it up to an ESC and drive it directly from a dial on the side. Very handy device. I just used it in-line with my discharger to confirm that batteries were being drained to storage voltage at a safe rate. Ease of use is unmatched. Setup of these receivers, even the micro tx was extremely easy. You update the tx and all the nano receivers will update themselves. For the cost of this kit theres not reason to hold out anymore. They will dent, they will bend, they will notch, but they will not chip, so you can keep flying till you get home. Powerful charger that's still small for what it can do. I can now charge my 10s packs at 5 amps on a 12v source. Which is what I wanted. This thing is sweet!!! Really enjoy the smaller size with the awesome flight characteristics. It's very small, has incredible range and has rx battery monitoring without an additional external sensor. Safety comes first with LiPo packs and it’s covered with fuses.I was so happy with the ability to charge up to 6 packs with my Revolectrix Powerlab 6 charger, I had to order the four port charger for my packs with Deans T-plugs. I have a good buddy who has the attitude that parallet boards are unsafe. The boards are fused, rugged, well-engineered and exactly what I was looking for after doing lots and lots of reading on the Internet. One final thought - I love how I can check the packs after flying and put them into storage charge with my trusty Revolectrix Powerlab 6 in much less time than doing each pack singly. I have had nothing but positive interactions with Progressive RC. If you are in the northwest, this is the quickest way to get your gear. Forum questions or problems Test Posting Forum It is like power is put to the bird all at once before you can control it. Is their a solution to stop this and get a more softer and controled start up. Also the blades start to tilt prior to getting any power to the motor. Thanks for any suggestions. The Dynam works great if it is set-up properly. The programming card is the easiest way to achieve proper set-up. I have the same ESC and I set it manually with no problems. Make sure that for an out-runner motor, the timing is set to Hard, and with a heli, you always want the brake to be off. It should sound like this if you have it set correctly: Be Beep (when you first plug in the power meaning brake off). Then Be Beep,Be Beep,Be Beep,Be Beep,Be Beep(5 double beeps meaning that it is set in hard timing). Follow the instruction that came with the esc and you should be okay. Peace, Z P.S. which radio do you use?Y Bro-inlaw uses the stock TXI just got my new Dynam ESC and i dont know how to install it. I have three red wires. Which one goes to which color.I bought a programmer as well hope it works!I just got my new Dynam ESC and i dont know how to install it. ZI never heard of setting it like that, I just set it for hard timing and soft start, brake off. Elaborate.I never heard of setting it like that, I just set it for hard timing and soft start, brake off. I did notice it has a setting for throttle or something on the card (something on the throttle curve) but no card right now and its not mentioned on the paper instructions. Elaborate.Hehe You know that little throttle problem you had with you King when it took off and smacked the flower pot. That is pretty much from having a falsely set throttle start point with the trim in the middle. I have the same radio as you and the same thing kept happening to me. I would land and my heli would throttle up and take off at the ESC's mercy. I got lucky and only smashed a few sets of woodies.Even with the new radio you still have to lower the trim all the way down to set the correct throttle points. REBIND every time you change even the most minute adjustment in the settings!!! I think this train of thought is common to leave it in the center cause our beloved Dumbdawg was crashing his heli with unsuspecting throttle as well. When asked, he said his trim was.Yep, in the center. I can really only say from this point that my heli has not throttled itself up since the day I put the trim all the way down and left it there. Peace, ZActually I was going to blame the ESC next. I do know about rebinding after every little move, found that out setting the gyro, had to keep resetting the creep over and over.So this thing needs setting up not like the stock esc. So all we need it hard timing, soft start and no brake. Then set the throttle stick for full up and down potsiton. I am sure the Dynam does not (they claim it is built in) as its a low end and very basic ESC. I have a card to set one up and as there are only about 5 settings for it so the card is overkill. Fact is even the instructions miss a step in the setup of it. Yes soft start, hard timing and brake off your throttle on it is preset to linear and so is your battery type and low voltage setting. That was one of its better features besides a very soft startup and 3 timing modes. It is made for or by RC Exceed and comes with either a 5 volt bec or a 6 volt bec. I belive the 5 volt bec is also rated at 2 amps and the 6 volt one at 3 amps. I have used them for years in my planes and they run a little warmer then some but never really had one fail. That was one of its better features besides a very soft startup and 3 timing modes. I have used them for years in my planes and they run a little warmer then some but never really had one fail.I am thinking about buying the Hobbywing 30A though as well.28 bucks.I know i said this before but the Dynam 30A was not at fault when it fried. My Hyperion motor had a wire arc welding to the inner part of the motor can causing catastrophic failures.I almost lost that new ESC flier gave me when I superheated it to probably 200 degrees?? It was fricken HOT as hell, lets put it that way. Can't wait for my motors. Another point that I would like to make is that I have read so many darn articles and threads now just on where the trim is supposed to be for throttle and it's about 50-50.I have pretty much come to the conclusion that it does not matter where it is, as long as you program the ESC AFTER you set the trim where you want it and then leave it alone.Mine did work better however, in the down position!!! Sorry about being a broken record, I have Deja Vue every time I sit down to write here now. I might need a break!! haha Peace pilots, ZUse of this site indicates your consent to the Terms of Use.
