dye dm7 manualPage Count: 11 The s tylized “dye” logo, the “Spher e” logo, the “DM7” logo, FUSE bolt and Hyper 2 2 are either r egister ed trademarks, trademarks, design trademarks, pat ents or pending patents of D YE Precision, Inc.The top button turns the marker on and off, while the bottom button turns the e ye on and off. T o turn the DM7 ON, press and hold the po wer button until the LED lights turn blue. The LED’ s in the grip will illuminate during the boot sequence. NO TE: If the ey e is not working properly, try replacing the battery. T o turn the gas on, turn the knob count er-clockwise. T o turn the gas off, turn the knob clockwise. All gas will v ent from the DM7 when the knob is turned off. Be sure all air has been v ented by discharging the mark er in a safe direction. If servicing the marker, remo val of the bolt will also allow an y trapped air to escape. LPR - The LPR is pr e-set from the f actory at appr oximately 7 5-80 psi and should need no adjustment out of the bo x. If fine tuning adjustment is desired or needed, you mus t be sure that you ar e adjusting the LPR correctly. See page 10 for detailed instructions. If the LPR is improperly adjust ed, you could dr amatically hinder the DM7’s perf ormance or pre vent the mark er from functioning at all. NO TE: Turning the adjustment scre w clockwise, or in, will lo wer the LPR’s output pressure. Turning the adjustment scre w counterclockwise, or out, will raise the LPR’s output pressure. Hopper - T o get the best performanc e out of your DM7, it is recommended that y ou use a motorized loader. Preferably one tha t forc e feeds the paint really, really fast. Feed Neck - T o secur e your loader into the adjustable f eed neck simply adjust the thumbscre w by turning it clockwise to loosen. Be car eful not to ov er-tighten the collar as it can cause the neck to br eak. This pressur e setting should have the mark er shooting at about 285fps.http://www.ltptech.vn/uploads/userfiles/converting-automatic-transmission-to-manual.xml

Y our paint-to-barrel fit will also ha ve a noticeable affect on y our velocity. Mak e sur e that the paintball fits into the barrel loosely but does not dr op through. Turning the adjus tment screw counterclockwise, or out, will raise the output pressure, increasing the velocity. NO TE: If the battery is too lo w, it ma y not be able to po wer the solenoid correctly. The blue light indicates boar d bootup. After the bootup sequence, the LED’ s will turn either RED (no ball) or GREEN (ball ready t o fire ). T o turn the DM7 off, pr ess and hold the pow er button until the LED’s turn off. NO TE: The DM7 automatically switches off aft er 10 minutes of non-use. Firing the DM7 As soon as the marker is turned on and the LED’ s turn from blue to either red or gr een, the DM7 is ready to fir e. If there is no ball and the LED’ s are RED, you need to hold the trigger for 1 sec ond to force the DM7 to fir e once. If ther e is a paintball inside the breech and the LED is green, just pr ess the trigger to fire the mark er. LED Light Indic ator The DM7 uses tw o super bright LED’s mounted on the circuit boar d inside the grip frame. These tw o lights are used t o pro vide information to the user about the DM7. They will alw ays sho w the same information and it does not matter which LED y ou look at. One is mounted behind the DM7 logo on the left side of the grip panels. The other one can be seen b y looking at the top left side of the grip frame while holding the DM7 in the position you w ould while playing a game.http://www.remontol.ru/media/converting-currencies-manually.xml When you turn on the mark er in normal operation mode with the pow er button, the light colors mean the following: Blue - Boot up Sequence Red - Breech is clear, no ball detected inside the DM7 ( ey e is on) Green - Ball in breech, r eady to fire (e ye on) Blinking Red - Ey e is turned off Blinking Green - Ey e failure, e ye is block ed or dirty (see DM7 Eye, page 13) Blinking Blue - Indicates a lo w battery, battery should be changed as soon as possible NO TE: The eye is alw ays activ ated when you turn the marker on. BL UE RED GREEN WWW.D YEMA TRIX. COM WWW.D YEMA TRIX. COM Board settings and configuration mode Ther e are fiv e settings you can alter on the DM7 boar d with the DIP switches inside the grip frame ( see figure 2): ABS Anti Bolt Stick. T rigger Sensitivity This setting adjusts the dela y between two trigger pulls. Dwell This is the time the solenoid is activ ated for. ROF Rate Of Fir e when the eye is deactiv ated. Firing Mode This is the firing mode the DM7 uses Ther e are tw o DIP switches mounted on the boar d of the DM7 (See figure 2). T he first one is used for the ABS setting and the second one is used to ac cess a configura tion mode used to change the other four settings. Anti Bolt Stick - When ABS is activated, the dw ell is increased after 15 sec onds of non-use for the next shot fir ed. This helps to pre vent bolt-stick, but ma y result in higher velocity for the first shot. If a more aggressiv e cleaning method is needed, lightly scrub the components with a soft, dry brush. Hea vy scrubbing will damage the board.T he LED will flash to indicate the pr evious setting. After that, y ou can set the new v alue with the trigger. For example, if you want to change the trigger sensitivity to 7 units: 2 Cycle through menus b y pulling and releasing the trigger until the LED show s GREEN (trigger sensitivity).http://schlammatlas.de/en/node/20817 3 Pull and hold the trigger until the LED starts to flash (factory def ault for trigger sensitivity setting is 5 units, so the LED will flash 5 times). 4 When the LED stops flashing, pull and r elease the trigger seven times in a f ast pace. The ne w value is set after y ou haven't touched the trigger f or one second. The LED will cycle thr ough all colors to indicate tha t the new v alue is saved. All other c onfigurations are changed the same w ay. Battery Standard 9V batt eries will last for about 40,000 shots. Please be a ware that ther e are substantial differenc es in performance betw een different brands of ba tteries. Use of high quality alkaline or lithium ion batt eries is rec ommended for maximum battery lif e. If you plan not to use y our marker for a long period of time (a month), it is rec ommended that you r emov e the battery from the marker. An intermittent blinking blue light indicates a lo w battery. A low batt ery can cause malfunctions to the marker. In this case, the battery should be changed as soon as possible. When the battery v oltage starts to go too lo w, y ou will notice your v elocity starts to decr ease and the board can turn off. For tournament use, it is rec ommended to change the battery for each tournament. When changing y our battery, tak e special car e to ensure the wiring harness is not pinched under the batt ery (see figur e 1). Changing the battery T he ba tt ery is housed on the right side of the grip fr ame. T o access the batt ery, remov e the three scre ws holding the right side grip panel down. Carefully lift the battery out of the frame. Inserting the battery back wards does not damage the board but it will not function. NO TE: If the marker will not function with the e ye on, there is a good chance the battery needs to be changed. Configuration Mode - The follo wing settings can only be modified in configuration mode. T o activat e the configur ation mode, turn your marker off and set DIP s witch 2 to the ON position.http://groupepse-cabinet-recouvrement-affacturage-assurancecredit.com/images/canon-ir-3100-service-manual-pdf.pdf Next, turn y our marker on. The LED's cy cle through all colors for one sec ond to indicate tha t you hav e entered the configur ation mode. T o cycle through diff erent settings, pull and r elease the trigger. Configura tion mode has 4 settings that can be changed. Green - T rigger Sensitivity V alues 1 - 20 (factory default 5) T rigger sensitivity is the amount of time that the trigger has to be released befor e the next trigger pull is allow ed. In some situations with too lo w of a value, the DM7 can regis ter more trigger pulls than wha t was actually pulled. This can cause the DM7 to shoot full auto, even in semi-aut omatic mode. T o fix this, set trigger sensitivity setting higher. Red - Dwell V alues 1 - 30 (factory def ault 18) Dwell is the amount of time that the solenoid will be activ ated. This is the optimal dwell setting t o be used. The values do not corr espond directly to a certain Balls Per Second (BPS) v alue. Y ou will need to use the table below to locat e your desired maximum ROF setting. The fact ory setting is 20 (30bps). Default is semiautomatic. In the semiaut omatic mode, one trigger pull shoots out one paintball. Y ou must first set DIP switch 2 to the off position. 6 7 FIGURE 1 A high-pressure supply of air is rout ed to the back of the bolt into the supply chamber. This air sour ce is responsible for propelling the ball. Lo w-pressur e air is supplied from the LPR to the solenoid. From the solenoid, the air is rout ed through tw o small holes to the section of the bolt referr ed to as the cylinder. When the DM7 is aired up, air is tr ansferred b y the solenoid to the front of the cylinder. This air pushes agains t the bolt sail and the bolt is held in the back position. When the bolt is held back, the 014 o-ring in the top hat seals around the bolt and c ontains the air in the supply chamber. When the marker is fir ed, the microswitch is pr essed, telling the solenoid to swit ch the flow of air from the front of the cylinder to the r ear of the cylinder. Air that enters the rear of the cylinder will push on the bolt sail, mo ving the bolt forwar d. The air in the fr ont of the cylinder is vented. As the bolt mov es forward, the taper ed stem passes thr ough the top hat. Once the bolt stem can no longer seal against the 014 o-ring, the air contained in the supply chamber is r eleased. The air passes through the v enturi ports in the bolt and out the front of the bolt t o propel the ball. When the bolt is in the f orwar d position, the inside bolt stem o-ring pr events the flo w of air from continuously flo wing through the marker when the bolt is forw ard. This helps the mark er shoot much more efficiently. Note: L ow or err atic velocity may be due t o a low battery not supplying ample electrical current t o the solenoid. In this c ase, change the battery. Unscre w the bolt from the rear of the mark er. It only takes one and one half re volutions to unscr ew the bolt so that it can be pulled out. After the bolt has been cleaned and gr eased and is ready to be inserted into the body, be sure all bolt slee ve components ar e screw ed together snugly. Slowly push the bolt int o the body. T ake care not t o cut or nick the o-rings as they pass the threads. This will cr eate ex cessive friction and dr ag on the bolt, ultimately resulting in br eaking the bolt. The first sev en o-rings listed below should be generously gr eased during maintenance. The function of the LPR is to lo wer the air pressur e supplied to the marker by the in-line, before it reaches the solenoid. This pr essure is used to mo ve the bolt forwar d and back. The f actory setting is 7 5 PSI. Y ou can fine tune your DM7 t o its minimum cycle pressur e. This will reduce the amount of for ce of the bolt hitting the ball (reducing ball br eaks) and help with efficiency. T oo low of pressur e will cause the bolt to not cycle, move sluggishly or not at all. If y ou experience dramatic shoot do wn during rapid fire, the LPR may be adjust ed too low. T oo high of pressure will cause the mark er not to shoot as smoothly, potentially increase ball br eakage and cause undue wear and fatigue on the bolt components. It is important to k eep the seat and piston face clean of all dirt and debris. Clean the seat and pis ton face and grease the r etainer o-ring every six months or 60,000 shots. The LPR has fiv e components and six seals 1 Piston lar ge o-ring (012 BN70) 6 Piston small o-ring (006 UR90) 2 Piston 7 Main seal (mounted in the seal retainer) 3 Piston spring 8 Seal retainer o-ring (010 BN7 0) 4 Body 9 Seal retainer (functions as an adjustment screw also ) 5 Body o-rings (4pcs, 013 BN70) The only user-serviceable part in the LPR is the seal r etainer. This seal needs to be changed in the unlikely case the LPR is cr eeping up. The LPR pr essure can be set quit e accurately e ven without an LPR tes t tool. Scre wing the adjustment scre w (seal retainer) all the w ay in will set the LPR pressur e to appro ximately 25 psi. Now turning out the adjusting scr ew 180 degrees will incr ease the pressure b y approximat ely 5 psi. For example, turning the screw 5 complet e turns out will set the pressur e to appro ximately 75 psi. T urning the adjus tment scre w clock wise, or in, will lo wer the LPR’s output pr essure. T o turn the gas off, turn the knob so that is is facing side ways. If y ou had gas inside the marker, it will bleed out. T o turn the gas on, turn the knob so that it faces v ertically. Cold, wet w eather will shorten the effective lif e of the gr ease. Be sure all air has been v ented by dischar ging the marker in a safe dir ection. If servicing the mark er, remov al of the bolt will also allow an y trapped air to escape. The seat housing scr ew is located up inside the bottom of the r eg. By turning the housing counter clockwise, y ou will increase the output pr essure of the regulat or to the marker. By turning the housing clockwise, y ou will decrease the output pres sure of the regulator. This will allo w your marker and air sy stem to stabiliz e at their new operating pr essure. Cold, w et weather will shorten the effectiv e life of the grease. ANTI CHOP EYES The Anti Chop Ey e (ACE) sy stem will pre vent the DM7 from chopping paint b y not allowing the marker t o fire until a ball is fully seated in fr ont of the bolt. The ey es use a beam across the br eech. On one side there is a transmitt er, and on the opposite side a r eceiv er. In order for the mark er to fire with the ey es turned on, the signal between the two e yes must be br oken. A fter ev ery shot, before the next ball dr ops in the breech, the ey e transmitter and rec eiver mus t see each other. If there is a malfunction, the LED's on the board will start blinking gr een. This means that the rec eiver and the emitter do not see each other. If this is the case, there ar e normally two reasons, either there is dirt, paint or gr ease blocking the beam, or the battery is so low there is not enough po wer to cr eate a strong enough beam. NO TE: If the battery is low, the marker ma y act as if the eyes are dirty or not fire a t all. In this case, replace the batt ery. Figure 2 Shim Stack 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 7 9 8 1 0 1 1 13 1 4 12 ANTI CHOP EYES - Maintenance and Changing 12 13 FIGURE 1 FIGURE 2 FIGURE 1 SELF CLEANING EYE FEA TURE The DM7 is equipped with a self cleaning e ye feature. There is a clear polycarbona te piece mount ed inside the breach of the gun c ov ering the ey es (see figure 1). When the bolt tip o-ring passes through the acrylic piec e, it sw eeps off any dirt, grease or paint that could be blocking the e yes. Normally it is enough to just fir e the DM7 to clean anything blocking the e yes. If this does not clear the blockage use a sw ab to clean the inside of the breach. Simply insert the Allen wrench int o the hole in the ey e cov er to access the r etaining screw ( see figure 2). As you back the scr ew out, the plate will be pushed up. A void scra tching e ye guard. Use a soft rag and q-tips t o clean off any built up paint or grease. When assembling the e ye guard s yst em, work backw ards from disassemble. The Eye guar d is key ed into the breach and can only go in one wa y. CHANGING BALL DETENTS T he ball detent s ystem is also located under the e ye co vers. The ball det ent system needs little or no maint enance. Ther e is a spring behind each detent, which holds the detent f orward. This spring pr essure should be easily ov ercome with v ery little force, such as a paintball mo ving past. If you ar e experiencing double feeding or chopping, check the condition of y our ball detents with your finger to mak e sure they ar e not stuck in the up or down position and that they mo ve in and out of the br eech freely. If ex cessiv e brok en paint or dirt has jammed your ball detents, remo ve the ey e plates (being careful not t o lose the detent springs) and pull the detents out for a thor ough cleaning (see figur e 2). Reinstall the detents, springs and e ye co vers after y ou have sufficiently cleaned the det ents and breech. The tw o scre ws on the side of the frame adjust the tr avel of the trigger. The one located behind the trigger is used t o change the tension of the trigger spring. Screwing it in will shorten the trigger’s length of pull. By turning this scre w you can adjust how f ar the trigger will trav el after it reaches the firing point. Note: If this scre w is adjusted too far, the trigger will not be allo wed to tra vel far enough to depress the switch and fire the mark er. INTEGRA TED L OCKING DOVET AIL FEA TURE The Ultr aLite frame comes equipped with an integr ated locking dov etail. There is a locking scr ew located on the bottom right side of the Ultr aLite frame. T o unlock a part attached to the dov etail of the frame, turn the locking scre w counter clockwise one full turn and slide part off the rail.If that does not help, change the seal retainer inside the LPR body. Refer to page 10 of the manual for disassembly instructions. Replace an y o-rings that seem damaged, sw ollen or in otherwise bad shape. T ry turning the LPR pressure a bit higher. If the pressure seems inconsistent, y ou can have an authorized DM7 cent er check the LPR pressure. List of t ech c enters can be f ound at www. dyematrix.com. - Dwell set too lo w: if you set the dwell too lo w, the dump chamber will not empty c ompletely and will cause err atic velocities. Refer to board settings page f or information on setting the dwell. TRIGGER BOUNCE - If you ar e having ex cessive trigger bounc e when firing the gun, make sure y ou have an uncut spring behind the trigger. A djus t the trigger so that the firing point of the trigger pull is located about halfwa y through the trav el of the pull. Raise the trigger sensitivity v alue. MARKER WILL NO T FIRE - A low battery ma y cause malfunctions to the marker. Hold the trigger for 1 second and the marker should fir e. If it does not fire after holding the trigger, or if the LED is green and it will not fire: - Make sure dw ell setting is at stock value. - Mak e sur e the trigger is adjus t ed pr operly and is actuating the microswit ch. - Mak e sur e ther e are no broken solenoid wir es. - Sticking bolt: pull out bolt and re-grease o-rings. MARKER SHOO TING SLO W WHEN EYE IS ON AND BLINKING GREEN - The ey es are not working correctly. Clean the eyes. Y ou'll know that they ar e clean if the L ED turns red when there is nothing inside the br eech of the DM7. - Make sure the e ye wires are not br oken or pinched. - The battery ma y be low. In this case, the battery should be changed as soon as possible. MARKER ISN'T WORKING THOUGH EYES ARE CLEAN AND ALL WIRES ARE CONNECTED; MARKER DOES WORK IF EYES ARE TURNED OFF - Change the battery. The voltage in the batt ery is too low for the ey e to function correctly. MARKER WILL NO T TURN ON OR OFF; CONTINUOUSL Y CYCLES THROUGH BOO T -UP; EYES WILL NO T TURN ON OR OFF - The button pad ma y need replacement.Replace if needed. ERRA TIC VEL OCITY OR SHOOT DO WN - Piston or shim stack ma y be binding due to exces sive dirt or lack of lubricant. - Seat ma y be dirty or damaged. Clean and grease r egulator. Inspect and replace damaged parts as needed. - Make sure shim s tack is stacked properly. Inspect o-rings. Replace if any visible nicks or cuts ar e found. AIR LEAK FROM BOTT OM OF ADJUSTMENT SCREW - T his is a safety bleed-off t o help pr e v ent ov er-pressurizing. Supply air back to the regulator. The leak should stop. If the leak persis ts, r eplac e the r egula t or seat. Make sure ther e are no nicks or scratches on the raised ring a t the bott om of the sea t-r etaining ca vity. W ARRANTY D YE Precision, Inc.
