Very minor issue: Due to more features, the controller has more buttons than a typical controller. Therefore, buttons are smaller, easy to press the one I didn't mean to. It takes a bit more getting used to. I found after it plays another disk then I put back in the first disk, it resumes where I left,a very nice feature.We save most of our video files in MP4 format, but if you want to play from USB on this player you need to convert to AVI. Also note that it's not going to play from very large USB drives. The listing says it will play up to 16GB. I tried a 128 - nothing. I tried an 8 - good. I then tried a 32 and that worked, which was odd. I'd go with what it suggests and stick to 16 or less. I also think video from USB maxes at 720p, but I didn't notice much difference from that to my DVDs. Overall, this seems like a good deal on a player that works well and has lots of cool functions that go beyond just DVDs.It does that just fine. Only two minor issues: 1. The front panel controls on the actual unit are all but impossible to use. On any normal surface, the unit just slips away. Some friction feet on the bottom would solve that. 2. There is a relatively bright large blue light on the Disk slot that is always on. There is no mention of this that I could find in either the description or the manual. I tried a few home methods including tooth paste but the disk was too scratched. I just bought a coulple of games this Christmas (2019) and one of the disks was damaged by a visitor so my daughter was really upset. I ended up purchasing this item and after buffering the disk twice (4 rotations) we tried it and it worked straight away. My daughter was so happy. We then tried it on another damaged disk, one of her favorites. I did ffour rotations and tried it. The disk loaded fine but eventually it came up with a disk error. I ran the disk through 2 more times and it worked. My daughter is now soooo happy. She has a few more disks that I will try but for right now we are two out of two! Excellent!Please try again later. First, recognize that this is a manual operation, and it's not an expensive gadget, so there's a small learning curve. The handle has to be snapped in just right, or it will fall off while spinning the wheel. The disc has to be set in place just right, or you've created a fairly efficient disc-frisbeeing machine. The gear ratio is rather large, so grinding off enough of the disc coating takes some effort. It would help to have make sort of marker on the surface side of the disc so you can know how far around the disc you've managed to go (once the handle is on correctly). The fluid, which is really just distilled water with isopropyl alcohol added to prevent life from taking hold in the bottle, is easy enough to apply and sticks around long enough to complete two revolutions on the disc. Buffing is important. I had two CDs I'd burned a decade ago, with hundreds of photos on each (modest resolution). Scratching on the surface prevented a good third of the photos from being transferable to a brand-new computer. I repaired the first disc twice, and the scratches, and read problems, were cleared up entirely. The second disc took just the one repair cycle to be restored to full working order. Allen Jr. 4.0 out of 5 stars The instructions are very, very basic, perhaps a little too basic. It also seems to be a bit unwieldy to use and store. The crank handle descends lower than the bottom of the unit while in use, so you can't put it on a table to use but must hold it by the handle. On my unit, the crank handle kept popping off. Accidentally cranking backwards by even the tiniest amount ejects the disk and, since it must be held in the hand, the disk falls to the floor -- I suggest holding the unit in your hand over a table with the polishing cloth underneath so the disk falls onto a soft surface.It is very easy to crank backward a tiny amount when you stop cranking. All of that said, it does, in fact, do what it says it will do; once I got it figured out, it repaired the disk I specifically bought it to repair. Overall, the unit seems very solidly constructed.
