They provide steering and velocity control to the vehicle. Several experimental tests have been carried out under different environmental conditions to evaluate the proposed techniques. Our approach is based on image processing, road and navigable area identification, template matching classification for navigation control, and trajectory selection based on GPS way-points. The vehicle follows a trajectory defined by GPS points avoiding obstacles using a single monocular camera. The images obtained from the camera are classified into navigable and non-navigable regions of the environment using neural networks that control the steering and velocity of the vehicle. As an output, it generates the steering control and speed for the Intelligent Robotic Car for Autonomous Navigation (CaRINA). One of the issues in this work is the impossibility of validating network training without actually testing it with the real robot. This paper focus in the road identification problem, which is an important capability to autonomous vehicle drive. Our approach is based on image processing, template matching classification, and finite state machines processing. Also the system is not able to predict future states. Our approach is based on image processing, template matching, finite state machine, and template memory. The system proposed allows image segmentation using neural networks in order to identify navigable and non-navigable regions. It also uses supervised learning techniques which work with different levels of memory of the templates. Recently, the particle filter has been widely used to solve lane detection and tracking problems, due to its simplicity, robustness, and efficiency. The key part of the particle filter is the measurement model, which describes how well a generated hypothesis (a particle) fits current visual cues in the image. Previous methods often simply combine multiple visual cues in a likelihood function without considering the uncertainties of local visual cues and the accurate probability relationship between visual cues and the lane model. In contrast, this paper derives a new measurement model by utilizing multiple kernel density to precisely estimate this probability relationship. The uncertainties of local visual cues are considered and modeled by Gaussian kernels. Specifically, we use a linear-parabolic model to describe the shape of lane boundaries on a top-view image and a partitioned particle filter (PPF), integrating it with our novel measurement model to estimate lane shapes in consecutive frames.
