I am not a dish dealer; I bought these from a auction but according to dish, they have not ever been activated and good to go. Your manual is on a CD since I did not get one. Kruse 4.0 out of 5 stars It has worked nearly perfectly ever since. The DVR itself seems to work fine, the only complaint I have about it is the OTA Tuner that I had purchased for it (the OTA Tuner is NOT supplied with the Dish 722 model) from Amazon, is an inferior product compared with the OTA Tuner that came with my Dish model 622 DVR. The OTA Tuner takes longer to tune in the local digital channels (it does find them all during setup) and has trouble keeping a lock on the channel as the signal comes and goes. When the local channel does come in, it shows a signal strengh in the 80's and 90's depending on which channel. I am not sure whether this is due to the OTA Tuner or the 722k DVR. In any case, my review of the Dish 722k DVR is very positive and if you have a need for the OTA Tuner, please take this additional into consideration. NOTE: For the Dish 722k DVR, the OTA Tuner model to use, as I recall, is the OTA2 Tuner for a Dish DVR. I bought my through Amazon a while back, but I think they are still available for purchase. My new Panasonic TV benefits from being connected to a source that has a HDMI output, which the VIP 722K has. The VIP 722K has only been connected for a few days, but what a difference in picture quality, sound and feature benefits such as automatic aspect ratio adjustment.http://www.jbplant.co.uk/files/burner-maintenance-manual.xml Have not suffered some of the complaints indicated in older reviews. After connecting the DVR to your system and obtaining the satellite signal, the software will update and would assume that most glitches have been eliminated. When calling Dish to activate the receiver the representative mentioned the VIP 722K was one of Dish's most reliable receivers. Installation of the unit is straight forward, especially if you are upgrading from an older similarly configured model. After using this DVR for only a few days feel it was well worth the price to upgrade. Finally in April, the satellite was installed as we had to wait for a bit of warmer weather in interior Alaska. About two weeks ago I kept losing the satellite signal. We re-checked everything: cables, connections, clearance, angles, etc. I noted that the unit was making noises as if it were shorting out where the HDMI cable attached to the back of the receiver. So we tried another receiver (a much less expensive DISH receiver), and it worked. I have contacted the seller who said to contact DISH as the receiver is still under warranty. DISH refuses to replace the unit as it was purchased from a vendor, not directly from DISH. The seller has failed to respond to further e-mails, so I am stuck with an inoperative receiver and paying for service that I am not receiving. In reviewing the Return Policy for the seller they say to refer to Amazon who says to refer to the seller's policy - how clever, a circuitous route of babble. Obviously, Amazon hasn't been particularly helpful, either. UPDATE: Seller refuses to accept responsibility stating unit still under warranty so DISH should replace. DISH technical dept wants to go thru the testing system procedure - been there, done that. Accused of lying by DISH tech dept stating they had no record of my previous calls. Still have a faulty unit. Still giving DISH my money. Still have no TV.http://fscl.ru/content/3rw22-manual Amazon customer svc agreed to replace unit thru another seller no shipping cost, but I would first have to pay for the unit then get the reimbursement. Declined this offer. WORD OF WARNING: Best be sure before ordering any 'big ticket' items from Amazon. Am in the process of filinf complaints with the BBB.After doing some research on which DISH Network DVR to get (the 722, 722K, 922 or the Dish Hopper - DISH Network's newest DVR), identifying some model selection pitfalls and failing to get DISH to commit to providing me with the best option - the DISH 722K DVR (Not the 722 DVR and definitely not the 922), I decided to purchase one through Reider Electronics to get what DISH would not commit to. I am extremely satisfied with what I received from ReiderElectronics.I sent an email to East India Trading Company requesting to return the unit and they said they would not accept the unit unless Dish network does a diagnosis. The equipment does not go on so it is not possible for Dish Network to do a diagnosis. I would like to return the unit in exchange for a new one or my money back.It has all the bells and whistles one could want from a classic DVR. It supports two TVs, comes with two remotes (one of which is UHF, so you can control the receiver from a different room where TV2 is located). There is an optional add-on Over The Air (OTA) module for adding your local broadcast channels onto it. The OTA module is often overlooked for the functionality it adds. While you probably already receive your locals over the satellite feed, if you are watching a local channel it counts as one of your two simultaneous feeds you can be using with this receiver. If you have the OTA module, you can not only have two simultaneous feeds over the satellite signal, but also 2 simultaneous over-the-air feeds. That means you can be recording up to 4 things at once (2 shows via satellite, 2 shows via OTA).http://echoploda.com/images/brookstone-digital-picture-frame-manual.pdfIn order to navigate out of this carousel please use your heading shortcut key to navigate to the next or previous heading. DISH On Demand Enjoy movies and other programming any time without schedules, without waiting and without leaving your home. Page 16 Chapter 1 Why Connect to a Phone Line or Broadband Solar Interference Twice a year, the sun moves to a position behind the DISH Network satellites as they orbit the Earth. This event occurs during a few days at the beginning of the spring and the beginning of the autumn and lasts only a few minutes. During these brief periods, you will not be able to see programs on DISH Network. When the sun has moved from behind the satellites, the programs will reappear. Page 17 Introduction Tips satellite TV programming. Make sure you are using the correct remote for your TV-viewing location (see page 12 for details). Order Pay-Per-View with your remote control—Keep an active phone line connected to the receiver. Not only will you have Pay-Per-View at your fingertips, but you’ll also avoid unnecessary charges.www.dsnjl.com/userfiles/files/8403-phone-manual.pdf Changing the Address for Remote Control 2 Because UHF signals travel long distances and go through walls, a neighbor’s remote may control your receiver by mistake. To keep this from happening, you can change the remote address. The SAT mode button will flash the same number of times as the address number (for example, three flashes means address 3). Confirming Remote Control Operation 1 Make sure the remote has fresh batteries and is in SAT mode. Page 22 Chapter 10 Improving Receiver Control Adjusting the Remote Control Antenna Be sure to set the remote control antenna (back of the receiver) straight up so you can use the remote control from as far away as possible. Don't let the antenna touch anything. If your UHF Pro Remote Control 2 isn't working well from far away, you may be experiencing interference from objects near your receiver. Page 23 Remote Controls Improving Receiver Control Installing a UHF Attenuator Unwanted UHF signals may interfere with signals from the remote control to the receiver. To prevent such interference, you can install a 10 dB attenuator (available from many consumer electronics parts stores). Adding this attenuator will help keep out stray UHF signals, but it will also cut down how far away you can use the remote control. 1 Remove the remote control antenna from the REMOTE ANTENNA input on the receiver’s back panel. Page 24 Chapter 10 Controlling Other Components CONTROLLING OTHER COMPONENTS To use the remote to control other devices (such as a TV, DVD player, VCR, tuner, amplifier, or other DISH Network satellite receiver), you must first program it to control these devices. Also, you can display captions when you play back programs recorded on the receiver's DVR (Digital Video Recorder), even if you didn't have them turned on at the time the program was recorded. An external decoder is required to enjoy this feature. Refer to your decoder’s user’s guide. Note: Not all programs contain a Dolby Digital sound track. The receiver uses an optical port for outputting digital audio. The optical output can provide two audio data types: Dolby Digital and Linear PCM (only Dolby Digital can provide full 5.
