I will try to upload pictures and may be explanatory video in the next coming days Update (December 23, 2015): attached are photos numbered 1-8 showing the process of turning this satellite dish to an FTA dish I do apologize that the quality of the pictures may not be all that good, but any one with little experience in the area of satellite dishes area would be able to use those pictures as a guide to what to do The signal booster is: Easy Fit Satellite Signal Amplifier Booster and this is the link: I hope all would find this review helpful and would enjoy their Free Sat experience I was a little worried since most of the reviews commented about how difficult the MP1 was to set un and lock on a satellite. I didn't have any of those problems, I had a few problems trying to get my DishNetWork 501 receiver to work with it, but no difficulty in locking onto a satellite after I switched to the 311 receiver. Sto, I left it outside of the RV for a few days to see if when I came back to watch some TV the satellite lock would still be good after wind, rain and direct sun. It worked perfectly. I moved it around, thinking that I just couldn't see the bubble. Turns out, the level no longer has any water in it. I can use an external level, it is just a good thing that this happened in the backyard instead of on a three week long road trip. Overall, I like it. Just a little disappointed that the level lost its mojo. Please try again later. From the United StatesThe challenge was. How? I had some old but good HD LNBs, so I took one that had long neck, striped it's plastic cover parts and I cut the funnel horn. For those who posted they couldn't get it to work; either didn't know what they were doing or had a defective transponder. The compass is usable but will only get you close. I also used a dish pointing app on my phone which likewise only gets you close. Level the base, get close to your azimuth, set your angle and then use the tv to view signal strength. You may have to adjust your angle different from your settings. I had to move the angle to about 47 TO get in the 90s. I left the 25 foot coaxial attached but did not use it. I used a 50 ft chord I currently use for tailgating and attached it to the other connection.. The dish comes with 2. I didnt try it but I assume you could hook up 2 boxes if you wanted or dvr. I didn't have to call direct tv. Worked right out of the box. THIS IS NOT A HD dish for direct tv. You will only get standard def. YOU WILL ALSO have to use an older box. The newer boxes may not work. Check compatibility This thing is way more portable to tote around than the dish ive been using for the last few years. That thing is currently sitting on the side of the road looking for a home. UPDATE: ive had this thing for 4 years now.and it has never let me down. I put it on the hood of my old tahoe when ni tailgate so i always have to level.http://www.bouwdata.net/evenement/3rd-gen-4runner-owners-manual I got tired of using my corn hole bags to level so i bought 3 inch bolts, wahers, and nots and made NEW adjustable legs.YOu simply cant beat this dish. It is highly portable, durable, and cheap. There are plenty of satellite pointer apps now to make set up a breeze. Please try again later. Please try again later. Sanseal 5.0 out of 5 stars The MP-1 unit arrived the night before our departure and I had no time test the unit before leaving. We are Dish Network subscribers and so I just grabbed the receiver box and remote control (don't forget the remote) from the spare bedroom and hit the road. As one of the lower priced portable dishes I must admit that my expectations were somewhat low. I'd read the reviews that highlighted problems with setting up the dish and finding satellites. Well those concerns vanished when, after following the very clear instructions, I found the satellite on the first try. This is very easy, especially if you've had any experience with a compass. I do recommend watching a YouTube instructional video before you leave, especially if you are travelling to an area where you have no internet access or cell phone coverage to ask for help. The bottom line here is don't be intimidated by the setup process. You will get the hang of it. And because the MP-1 is a manual unit with no motors or moving parts, I figure there is less risk of something going wrong with it.Please try again later. Jason Ensminger 4.0 out of 5 stars Forget the reviews that say they couldn't get it to work, they shouldn't be setting up a dish because they have no clue what they are doing.http://www.btrcontrols.com/images/brondi-fx10-manuale.pdf I would also highly recommend the dishpointer AR PRO app for the iPhone or iPad over a satellite finder because it costs less than many and mine was of no use at all. They only reason I gave 4 out of 5 stars is my travel trailer is 28 feet long and 25 feet of cable is a little short for some placements. There is room for more cable in the case and I think 35-40 feet would be better but you can replace that as needed. Please try again later. Please try again later. Brian-PHX 5.0 out of 5 stars Before leaving on a camping trip, I tried it out in my driveway and had it set up and running in less than five minutes. While camping, I was in a heavily forested area, was able to dial it in, although it did take longer than at home. The key fro me was to go off the sound meter on your televistion. Once dialed in, I had a great picture. There are not a lot of moving parts, so this should last a long time. Please try again later. Please try again later. Jeffrey Youmans 5.0 out of 5 stars I've been camping with the family for two consecutive weekends now and this dish and my directv receiver have given me entertainment during nap times, not to mention football after bedtime. If you don't use the 25' cable that comes with the dish, you'll need a satellite cable. Bottom line is that it's easy to setup and easy to use. Please try again later. Please try again later. Any longer than 50 feet may result in a loss of signal quality, and in some cases complete signal loss. If you try to connect through RV wiring and do not receive a strong enough signal, try using a shorter coax cable between the antenna and RV. If all else fails, try a direct connection. I will be replacing 2 DP311s with a single VIP222k. I have ordered a VIP222 from a Dish dealer who sells through Amazon. They tell me that if I buy the Protection plan, they will send out a tech to install my new hardware for free. But the VIP222k install may be more difficult. First, what will I need to send the signal down from the LNB to the receiver. It sounds like the DP-33 can be used with only one coax, but requires an additional component. The DP-34 uses 2 coax feeds going down to the receiver, I believe. Are the switches and diplexers one and the same. Finally, can I use my 8 year-old coax, or should I buy all new. Thanks in advance for your help. I did when I bought my 622 and a 1000.2 over 7 years ago. I had everything up and running before I called Diah and I was told they would have to sent someone out to install the equipment for me. When I adamantly told them the equipment is installed and fully functional I just need to activate it they finally relented. You only need one cable from the 1000.2 to the separator with 2 short cables for the receiver. My coax has been up for over 12 years now and still works fine.Which model separator did you use. It's always good to chat with someone who has had hands on! Usually more like 2 inches. The separator demdulates the signal so that you have one signal for Tuner 1 and one signal for Tuner 2. It has SEPARATOR and 123254 stamped on it. There is also a newer version called a triplexer that has a separator and a diplexer on the same block. If you are only using one coax you do not need any DP switches. Triplexer info The 222k does not Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4 I need same for my daughter. Thanks If you want to only add one more dish you use the input located on the LNB. If you add more than one additional dish you must deal with a compatible DP switch. Our experience in listening to our clients is they are of inferior quality, and many times do not function the same as an original OEM branded replacement remote control. Many clients come to us after their recent generic purchase has failed, or does not operate the way the original replacement did. Some report having to enter codes to program the remote to function properly. There are many clever ways these are marketed.Infra Red light cannot be seen with the naked eye. So not seeing this infra red light has no indication as to whether the remote is functioning properly or not. Good News! Infra red light be seen with a smart phone in the selfie mode. Just point it at the smart phone in selfie mode, and press buttons. You should see a flash of infra red light as the buttons are depressed on the remote control. This means the remote is functioning. If the infra red light stays on constantly, or never comes on, the remote is defective. See more in the troubleshooting link at the top of the page. However, if you need help, let us know.
