Before Using the Inverter 8.9 Important Safety Instructions: Keep the jump starter well ventilated in order to properly disperse heat generated 1. while it is in use. Make sure there are several inches of clearance around the top and sides, and do not block the vents on the back of the jump starter. Make sure the jump starter is not close to any potential source of ?ammable fumes, 2. gases or clothing. Do not use the inverter near an open engine compartment where fumes or gases 8. may accumulate. Do not modify the AC receptacles in any way. 9. Using the Inverter 8.10 It is important to know the continuous wattage of the device you plan to use with the inverter. Th e j ump s tar ter mu st be us ed wi th dev ic es dra win g 400 wa tt s o r l ess. If the wa tt age is n ot marked on the device, use only devices that draw less than 4 Amps of AC current.https://creationstationdance.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/16280ae9cc514e---bt-freestyle-6100-user-manual.pdf Devices like TVs, fans or electric motors require additional power to start (commonly known as the “starting” or “peak power”). The jump starter can supply a momentary surge in wattage; however, even devices rated less than the maximum 400 watts can exceed the inverter ’s surge capability and cause an automatic overload shutdown. Do not use the inverter with a product that draws a higher wattage than the inverter can provide, as this may cause damage to the inverter and the product. Make sure the device you are using is compatible with a modi?ed sine wave inverter. Always run a test to establish whether the inverter will operate a particular piece of equipment or device. In the event of a power overload, the inverter is designed to automatically shut down. This safety feature prevents damaging the inverter while testing devices and equipment within the 400-watt range. The surge load of each device should not exceed the inverter’s Continuous Operation wattage rate. If you are using the power inverter to operate a battery charger, monitor the temperature of the battery charger for about 10 minutes. If the battery charger becomes abnormally warm, disconnect it from the inverter immediately. Y ou can use an extension cord from the inverter to the device without signi?cantly decreasing the power being generated by the inverter. For best operating results, the extension cord should be no longer than 50 feet. This inverter uses a nonsinusoidal waveform. Therefore, we do not recommend you use it to power the following devices: Switch Mode Power Supplies 1. Linear Power Supplies 2. Class 2 T ransformers 3. Line Filter Capacitors 4. Shaded Pole Motors 5. Fan Motors 6. Microwave Ovens 7. Fluorescent and High Intensity Lamps (with a Ballast) 8. T ransformerless Battery Chargers 9. Doing so may cause the device to run warmer or overheat. If this procedure is not successful, it is likely that the inverter does not have the required capacity to operate the device intended.http://www.a-fairys-choice.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/16280aeb756fca---bt-freestyle-manual-710.pdf Charge the jump starter as soon as possible after each use. 7. Risk of electric shock. Incorrect operation of your inverter may result in damage and personal injury. Times are based on the internal battery being new, fully charged and operated at room temperature. NOTE: The maximum continuous load is 400 watts. Do not use the inverter with a product that draws more than 400 watts, as this may cause damage to the inverter and the product. MA IN TEN AN CE IN STRU CTI ON S 9. After use and before performing maintenance, unplug and disconnect the jump starter 9.1 (see sections 3 and 4). Use a dry cloth to wipe all battery corrosion and other dirt or oil from the battery clips, 9.2 cords and the jump starter case. Ensure that all of the jump starter components are in place and in good working 9.3 condition, for example, the plastic boots on the battery clips. Servicing does not require opening the unit, as there are no user-serviceable parts. 9.4 All other servicing should be performed by quali?ed service personal. 9.5 MOV ING A ND S TOR AGE INST RUCT IO NS 10. Store the jump starter in an upright position. 10.1 Store inside, in a cool, dry place. 10.2 Do not store the clips on the handle, clipped together, on or around metal, or clipped to 10.3 cables. The clips on the jump starter are live and will produce arcing or sparking if they come in contact with each other. T o prevent accidental arcing, always keep the clips on the storage holders when not using them to jump start a vehicle. Failure to do so could result in personal injury or property damage. The internal battery will gradually self-discharge (lose power) over time, especially in warm environments. Leaving the battery in a discharged state may result in permanent battery damage. T o ensure satisfactory performance and avoid permanent damage, charge the internal battery every month. Duane Cone 5.0 out of 5 stars I'll break down what I've used it for and what I like. USB ports: charge well in about the same time as plugging into a wall outlet. Car outlets: both work normal if you operate within the proper power draw. AC outlets: very handy. They work as they should. I've used them for speakers, fans, lights, etc. Air compressor: worked well for airing small toys and balls. Have not used it on a car tire yet. It come with a couple if attachment including a needle so you don't have to worry about keeping up with them separately. Jumper cables: WORK HORSE. The day after I got this my car broke down (turns out I needed a new alternator). I used this pack to jump off the car 6 times on one charge AND ended up hooking it directly to the battery to get the car home. Yes I know that is not technically what you should use it for, but you gotta do what you gotta do. After all that I got home and the pack was still on 47 of battery. Personally I am very impressed with this pack. I bought it as an alternative for a generator to power electronics at tailgate parties. My Beats by dre Beatbox portable speaker uses about 1 of battery per hour. Running a standard box fan uses about 25 of battery per hour. Lights-- depending on the kind-- vary greatly. I used a college dorm style 5 bulb lamp that used about 30 of battery per hour. A normal lamp uses about 10 per hour. A strand of Christmas lights use minimal battery. This is my experience with the pack. I tried to provide as much detail as I could for someone who is looking to use this the same way that I did. The work light on the top is not too powerful but will help in a bad situation. The thing takes a long time to charge when plugged into a wall outlet. Plan on overnight and don't worry about it. I hope this helps!!I have used it over 50 times and it functions just like it did on day 1! The internal battery has a long life: I have only charged it twice. It has jumped cars, vans, and box trucks with ease and aired up over 25 tires. Wish I could buy one for every vehicle in my fleet. I will be purchasing one for my personal vehicle.I charged it for at least 36 hours upon receipt per Instructions but did not use it immediately. I decided to test it today before the return window expires. I'm glad I did! I tested the inverter by plugging in the 110V outlet a small 0.85A electric fan. The fan ran normally for 30 minutes then it stopped. It did not work. The product seems to be working but the electric fan won't switch on. I unplugged the electric fan from the inverter and plugged it directly to the wall outlet. The fan was dead. Thinking I just had a bad electric fan that decided to mimic a dead possum at the exact time I was testing the unit, I tried another electric fan, this time a smaller one at only 0.45A. That one died too in about 1 hour. Blown fuse?! I don't know but BUYER BEWARE!!! I contacted Amazon for a return but turns out this product CANNOT BE RETURNED because it contains Hazardous Material. However, Amazon gave me a FULL REFUND which was nice except that I now have 2 dead electric fans and a DieHard to discard in an appropriate dumpsite. Then I used it to power my electric jack to lower my 4Runner. Then I used the compressor to pump up all 4 tires, which were extremely low (each tire needed an extra 10-12 psi). After all this, the box still had 92 battery capacity. Very impressive! It’s a nice size and it’s terribly heavy. Everyone should own one of these. It can also be very useful if you have an extended electricity outage - power lamps, a radio, charge your phone, etc.The battery was bone dry as I had not started it in 2-3 months (or more?). I tried jumping it with my other SUV but no luck. I looked online for a jumper and found several but this one got good reviews. There were a couple of others that got good reviews (Dewalt and couple others). But this one also had other functions besides a jump starter, like an inverter for 2 AC outlets and a tire compressor too. So I went for it. I got it in 2 days from Amazon. Out of the box it already showed 100. I still plugged it in to charge it and in less than an hour the light was pulsing indicating a full charge. I hooked it up to my FX and it started clean. So I am very glad I got it. UPDATE: One week later. Used the DieHard for 2 more jumps to my FX (without recharging) and it still worked on first try. Now I have plugged it back in for recharging. Still shows 100 but I left it to charge anyway. Glad I have this unit!Just tried to return it but it says they don’t do returns because it needs special shipping.I have used to jump start vehicles, put air in tires, charge my phone in power outages and plugged in my laptop and lamps. In a roadside emergency it has flashing light capability. When my daughter travelled cross-country I made sure she has one in her vehicle. I don’t leave home without mine in the trunk.Scratches on unit and loosely packed inside the box where some packing material was missing. Battery was already charged to 100. Am not able to return due to the COVID shutdowns. As far as I can tell, the unit works well, but I have no idea how it was maintained or handled by the previous order. This is definitely not a product I would ever want to buy used. Not a great first impression. It automatically shows the PSI on the digital readout, and it'll automatically stop the air compressor when it reaches the PSI you've set. Somehow it's quieter than the small 12v air compressor I used to have. Also, this is really handy to have during a power outage, thanks to the two household outlets. It has a 400 watt modified sine wave inverter, so you won't be able to power a microwave, but I was able to power a fan and a lamp and still had 80 capacity, the capacity referring to the wattage available, not how long the battery will last.Good idea to have it charge by just plugging in a normal extension cord, no special charger required since the electronics for it is inside. I like that. My previous portable power source needed special charger and the two items often became separated. Easy to use.Jump car, fill tire air, lots of charging ports. My plug to charge broke after the first few uses. I pushed a bit too hard with a tight extension cord and it broke. As you can't return this as it contains batteries, I opened up and glued the piece back. Seems ok for now, though I am extra careful. Other than the broken plug, I am happy so far.
