Effective August 31, 2007, MANQAP operates pursuant to a Service Purchase Agreement (SPA) between Manitoba Health and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Pursuant to the SPA, MANQAP accredits the public laboratory and diagnostic imaging facilities in the province of Manitoba specified on a schedule to the SPA. Each year, comprehensive inspections are conducted at specified facilities, as agreed between Manitoba Health and MANQAP. The intent is that all public facilities included within the scope of the SPA will be inspected on a five year cycle. The facilities inspected include laboratories, diagnostic imaging and transfusion medicine sites.
