From the United StatesAfter evaluating my mgp over 1100 highway miles I actually saw a decrease in mpg. The increase in power was negligible. I would not recommend buying this product. Please try again later. Please try again later. J. Young 5.0 out of 5 stars Prior to the tune, the Yukon was a little sluggish accelerating from a stop and MPGs were a little lack luster. I installed the 87 octane tune and immediately noticed a difference. I don't have any real statistics on performance but the acceleration seems a lot more responsive. I think some of this is due to the tune altering shifting parameters but that is just my speculation.http://gartenstadt-apotheke.com/userfiles/braun-4161-manual.xml Prior to the tune, my wife's weekly MPG average was about 12.5mpg on her short commute, all city, to work and back. On long trips, we would get around 14-15mpg. However, the speed limit was 70mph on most of the highway portions of the trip. Best fuel economy seems to be around 60-65mpg with an instant mpg around 18-19mpg which used to be around 17-18mpg. Certainly not a massive increase in MPGs but a noticeable amount. I figure at a.5 - 1mpg increase the tuner will have paid for itself in about a year. If you're looking to make your vehicle perform better, a tuner is the way to go. You will see an increase in MPGs if you can resist stomping on the accelerator at every chance otherwise you will see a decrease over stock tuning. Please try again later. Please try again later. I read endless reviews on his tunes, and have yet to find a single bad one. In fact, I have not even found any ho-hum ones. They are all rave reviews. The Predator tuner is no longer made, and has been replaced with the inTune and the Trinity. The inTune is a direct replacement for the Predator. Basically just a flash programmer and scanner in a more modern updated package. The Trinity is a full dashboard tuner and gauge monitor with all kinds of cool functions. But anyway, they all fully support custom tunes. For that he will make you a custom tune and do all the tweaking that is needed to get it right. Plus, if you change anything within a year, like headers, mufflers, intake, etc, he will make the needed adjustments to optimize your new mods for no extra charge. I think he can even handle cam changes if they aren't too crazy.https://www.davidpipe.com/images/bowflex-treadclimber-user-manual.pdf Once you have paid the man, you use the tuner to record a data log on your truck. Basically you get it up to temperature and find a nice flat road where you can keep it at a steady speed for 5-10 minute with the RPMs between 1800-2500 as much as possible. Record the log, and then email him the file, along with the original backup file and last-tune-written from the tuner. He will email you back your new tune, which you then load onto the tuner and then upload to your truck. Then you drive it like normal for about 150 miles. Then you will do another log and send to him. He will check things and make any tweaks needed, and send back. Repeat until it is dialed in. He can also make changes for the traction control, torque management, shift points, shift speed and pressure, and throttle lag. So, today I got my first revision back from him and installed. I must say, he is fast. I emailed him all the files, and he had the custom tune back to me in about 15-20 minutes. Does it work? First impressions: It should be noted that performance is supposed to get better and better over the first 150 miles, as the computer learns the new fuel trims and gets everything balanced out. This has been confirmed in all the reviews I have read as well. I IMMEDIATELY noticed that the delay in the throttle pedal was gone. Before, if I quickly floored it and released it nothing would happen. There was enough of a delay that I could release it before it did anything. Now, I can't blip it fast enough for it to not react. I would say it reacts about the same as my old carbed small block 400. From a dead stop, it has always felt like it was in second gear until about 3000 RPM. Then it would start to pull hard. Now, it jumps and pulls hard immediately. The RPM climb is steady. Before you could watch the tach slowly rise, and then about 2800-3000 it sped way up as the power came on. The shifts are firmer, and the shift points are higher. If it is floored, it now holds 1st all the way to 6000 RPM.http://bilagroup.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/162751e2947c06---brother-mfc-9320cw-manual-feed.pdf I also notice under normal driving, the up-shifts happen at a little higher MPH. If you are driving slow, like through a parking lot, or on a long driveway, it will stay in 1st. Whereas before it would almost immediately shift up to 2nd if there was no load, then when you gave it a little gas or a slight incline it would shift back down. Now it acts more like you would drive it if it was a manual. On a loose gravel road I floored it from a dead stop in 4Hi unlocked. I can assure you THAT has never happened before. However, I did not notice the usual bog that comes with that notice. It just kept pulling hard. I then drove the left front wheel up a bank to off-load the LR and RF wheels and make them spin to further test the traction control. (I had requested it be off) There did not seem to be any braking action being given to the spinning wheels. He explained that the system is still on, i.e. the notice on the dash when it senses spinning, but he has turned off all torque management, and the functions that is does to control spinning. So it thinks it is working, but it is actually just telling itself to do nothing. So far, I am very impressed, and really like the way it drives! Thanks for sharing. After reviewing a recent data log, it is all dialed in and optimized. I have done more testing on the traction control, and it is indeed off. It will spin tires as fast as you want it to. I can't wait to get it in deep snow again. My current tank is almost empty, so on my next one I will be seeing what, if any, effect has been had on my MPG. I track every tank with an app called FuelLog. This tank is running about 10. With as much heavy foot driving as I've been doing on this tank, that is higher than I would have expected, so I have hopes I might gain 1-2. I'll try hard to be good and drive normal through the next tank and see what happens. I was expecting more like 9. Now we'll see what the next tank does with normal easy driving.Or can you use the intune tuner?domainersuite.com/ckfinder/userfiles/files/bk20precision20732a20manual.pdfThe Trinity gives you the dash display, race timer functions, and all that fancy stuff. As far as just the tuning side of it, they both do the same.Still very happy with it!I have only driven to work and home which is a five minutes for the last couple of days. Tomorrow I have a 45 minute drive and I will get to see how the tune really works outThe firm transmission tune took all the jerkyness I had in my transmission completely out. And the Rpms were running about 500 to 1000 lower than before. I also I slighty see a improve in gas but I'm trying to wait till I have ran through a full tank of gas to see where I'm sitting on mpg. When you're ready for the next step, just get ahold of Lew. You'll be surprised all over again! In brief, here is a list of what a programmer can do for you and your Duramax. When run with nitrous, the Extreme program is reported to boost total power to more than 500 ponies at the rear wheels. Run the Extreme program with a stock Allison, and you'll sooner or later get an education in tranny codes. I'd like to see a few quality photos of actual display screen sequences that provide a visual tie-in with the written instructions. However, Bully Dog includes an exhaustive list of Diagnostic Trouble Codes (though in very small print). The versions listed below are their high-end units, and which generate the most juice. While not the least expensive, component quality, the padded hard case, complete and in-color instructions and general attention to detail are what'll get your attention first. The included hard case is a nice touch (how are you supposed to carry these things without them?), as are the nicely done and in-color instruction sheet. PPE also includes a complete diagnostic trouble code list (in large easily-read print). Check the Pacific Performance web site for some amazing videos and even more information concerning Duramax diesel performance. U7180) is the only unit we've test-driven to date.http://chicagohalo.com/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/162751e3548a8e---brother-mfc-9160-manual.pdf As advertised, it provided a user friendly and smooth power increase. The LLY Predator (part no. U7193) however, can be moved from vehicle to vehicle as long as you restore the truck's original programming before using it on another truck. This is how all programmers should operate (why doesn't their LB7 version do this?). The PC Interface Kit allows you to connect your Predator to your PC to: Version updates are available to download from the DiabloSport's download page.DiabloSport recommended weight limitations based on manufacturer suggested limits for the vehicle. As with Bully Dog, Quadzilla's instruction sheet is a bit skimpy. I'd like to see a little more information. Inadvertant activation of OnStar, either by yourself or the OnStar center can interfere with the programming. An OnStar activation can produce an error in the new program upload, which could result in either a dealer visit to have them reprogram your ECM to correct the error or in a worst case scenario could require ECM replacement. Once connected to the vehicle, the Predators internal computer recognizes the vehicles PCM and automatically picks the proper tuning files designed specifically for that PCM. The transmission parameters are remapped to improve the shift characteristics such as shift firmness and shift points. Unlike other 'tuners', Diablo Sport's programming is performed in very small increments throughout the entire RPM range, for a smoother, wider and a more predictable power delivery.https://www.costaverde.it/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/162751e3ecdf12---brother-mfc-9180-user-manual.pdf Diablo Sport engineers spend many hours on the dyno, street and track to ensure the tunes provided with the Predator are the best they can be.Factory Tune: Designed for users who wants to adjust parameters using the factory tune.Average power gains are in 10-20 RWHP range in the cars and 20-30 RWHP in the truck line. Less for the 87 octane tunes. The Predators additional power makes itself noticeable immediately with an increase in power that starts in the low RPMs and builds into a frenzy at the high RPMs. A Predator equipped vehicle will notice significant improvements in drivability. The additional power and improved shift patterns created by the Predator tune will yield quicker acceleration and better mileage, whether it is in town or out on the highway. The power increase in the lower RPMs will yield a better throttle response.Be the first to write a review. It may not display this or other websites correctly. You should upgrade or use an alternative browser. Please take a moment to sign up. This programmer will even read codes. Extremely simple to use. Nothing beats this unit. Does it all. Could not be happier. I went with the 87 Octane tune and even gained 1 MPG out of the engine. I have the Flexfuel 85 Octane Engine. You can feel the timing curve having changed with a more crisp and precise pedal response. Verisign.www.docutek-inc.com/upload/files/bk20precision2060120manual.pdf So there's more expensive options, those extra features, they may include Wi-Fi connectivity, they may include larger screens or touch screens, and just more in-depth software rather than this. But what this is going to give you is getting the job done, and I definitely think that you can do that with this tuner on a budget. So install is gonna be a very easy one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, and I always recommend to download the latest version of the software onto your tuner before you go ahead and plug it into your Wrangler. So speaking of that install and all of those little details, let's go ahead and show you that now.So to kick off this install, I would recommend that you update your software to the latest version. You can do that through your computer. This is compatible with Linux, OS X, Mac, and Windows, and then we can go ahead and plug this into our OBD2. That's gonna be your port right in the footwell underneath of your steering wheel, and then it's going to light up your screen here. Now after that, it's going to prompt you to a couple of different options. You do have your TUNE, you also have your SCAN, and then you'll have your information device settings. So overall, this is going to give you the max amount of horsepower and torque with preloaded tunes and dyno-tested performance. This is also going to act as a calibrator to adjust for your tire size. It's going to also act as a diagnostic tool to scan, read and clear trouble codes, so you always know what's going on with your Wrangler. Not to mention, this is 50 states smog legal. So once we're prompted up to our first screen, it's gonna be TUNE. So we're gonna go ahead and select that. We do have to turn on our ignition. So once our ignition is on, we can go ahead and press OK. This is just gonna load this application to the vehicle. So after you have loaded the software, we can go ahead and tune.So after you've stored your stock information on the device, it'll bring you up to Select Tuning. So you can go ahead up to the Diablo tuning. You can also go to Diablo 91 Tune, Tow Performance, an 87 tune, an Economy tune, as well as a Crawl Tune. And we can go ahead and exit that, turn our ignition off. Okay, now we can turn our ignition on. It will prompt you in order to do this a couple of times, depending on what you're looking to do. Right now, this is clearing our DTCs system, which will be your trouble codes. So if we were to have a code, we can go into our SCAN option, we can read and clear the trouble code. We can also go into Gauges and Datalog, so it's gonna gather some information from our Wrangler and we will be able to go back and look at that information. So you can select up to eight PIDs within the following PID groups, so let's go ahead and confirm that. We can look at Engine Miscellaneous, we have Fuel Trim and Fuel Pressure, Time and Distance, our O2 sensors, Miscellaneous Non-Engine options. We have our EGR as well as our Evap system that we can monitor. We have Catalyst Temp, Throttle Detail. And then if you choose any of those, you can press down to start the processing and start to read that information into the tuner. So we're going to go ahead and exit that because we don't need any of that information right now, and then we can go ahead and check out battery voltage and that is our battery voltage right now as we sit. So after we have completed that, we can just go back. We don't have any trouble codes, so we don't necessarily need to read or clear them. And then we can go into our information settings. So this is all of your device information. You can go into Vehicle Info. We're not going to show that for the video, and then we can go into device information. So this lists the part number as well as all of the information that you may need if you need to contact DiabloSport regarding this tuner. So underneath TUNE, we can tune the vehicle, but we also have Quick Options. So these are going to be adjusting for tire size and a couple of other features I will go through in a minute. So if you do have a Rubicon, you can hook this up to lock your axles. You can also adjust your Engine Idle. This is gonna be helpful if you're out on the trail and you're looking to adjust that. You have your Tire Size as well as your Gear Ratio. That's going to adjust for obviously your tire size and your gear ratio, but that's gonna help out with your speedometer and go ahead and adjust that. You have a TC Low Ratio. That's gonna be your transfer case. You also have a Lamp Delay, your running lights, your accessory delay, and Lane Change as well as Lamp Flash. So you can adjust all of those in your tuner as well. So this is a little bit more basic than a lot of the other tuners. That's okay. This is still gonna get the job done. This is still gonna give you a tune, and it's still going to tell you whatever is wrong with your Wrangler, and I do actually like how this is handheld. It's pretty basic, and it gets the job done.So that's gonna wrap it up for my review and install on the DiabloSport Predator 2 tuner, fitting all 2007 to 2014 JK Wranglers. Please check out 2019-2020 Silverado Tuners for an updated selection. And today we're gonna be taking a closer look at the Diablosport Predator 2 Tuner fitting all '99 to '16 5.3-liter powered Silverado 1500s. Now, this is gonna be a great tuner option for you if you're looking to get some good gains out of your 5.3 motor as well as get some good tools that a tuner like this one can offer that any Silverado owner should be able to put to use. So, what do we have going on here with the Predator. Well, first thing's first, let's talk about numbers. That's what you guys wanna hear, that's what I wanna talk about. So, let's dive right into it. Now, here is how we ran our test. We put the regular stock tires back on, we have 87 in the tank for both the baseline and the after run. For a baseline, we put down 282 horsepower and 308 foot-pounds of torque at the wheels. That's not bad. A little bit low if you're accommodating for a 15 drivetrain loss. But for our after, we put down 294 horsepower and 322 foot-pounds of torque at the wheels. That's good for a 12-horsepower peak gain but the curve numbers are where it really gets good. At around 4,250 RPM, we put down 33 horsepower and 27 foot-pounds of torque. Pretty good numbers. The stock graph does dip a little bit right there in the middle of the RPM range. The Predator seems to deal with that, really flattens out the graph getting you those big peak gains, right in that daily driver RPM. This is something you're definitely going to feel after it's been uploaded to your Silverado really respectable. Well done Diablosport. Now, we did run the 87. So, if you did fill up the truck with 93, had a good fresh tank in there, I bet the numbers would be even better. There are some other options as well. You get 93 and 87 obviously, there are performance and towing versions for both of those tunes. And if you did just want to otherwise keep it stock, they even offer you that with the flexibility of adjusting some of those stock parameters like rev limiters, speed limiters, different gearing, different tire sizes to fix your speedometer, stuff like that. This is capable of taking care of all of that. Some other features about the Predator here. Simple five-button interface really, really simple to deal with. I'm gonna show you guys exactly what it's gonna look like in just a second. Full-color 2.8-inch display, really nice. This is also capable of data logging. So, if you do need to fine tune for any reason, send it off to a tuner, you could offload the files using the USB cord that comes in the kit to your PC. That cable is also going to be used to update this thing. Again, that does come included in the kit. This guy is also data log capable. So, if you do need a diagnostic tool, this is going to allow you to read and clear those DCTs, diagnostic trouble codes as they call them, better known as check engine light. Not too bad. Decent gains from the preloaded tunes. Again, the tools on here are great. You should be able to put them to use, no problem, at least a few things anyways. The install is going to be really, really easy as well. You don't need to pop the hood, you don't need to get your hands dirty. Easy one out of three wrenches. This hardwire here plugs right into the OBD2 port. Should take you about 15 minutes to get your truck completely re-flashed. So, without any further ado, let me show you how to upload a tune and what this thing can do features wise. So, all we're gonna have to do to get up and running with this thing, you can see it has a hardwire in here on the bottom of the device. Other end is for the OBD2 port that's below the steering wheel to the left right in the pedal well that is going to plug right into place. Now, as soon as our device is plugged into the OBD2 port, it's going to power on and the first menu we're gonna be greeted with is tune. If we scroll through here, there's also scan and info. We're gonna dive into all three. But first and most pertinent, we're gonna start with tune. So, scroll that, press okay to select it then turn the ignition to on. Don't start the engine here and then you can press okay again.
