You will want to consider the Brush Box part 603754-01 and the Motor and Pinion part 396505-22SV for your model to fix the weak power and smoking. The replacement Side Handle is part 646594-00, but unfortunately, the Clamshell Set is discontinued and is no longer available. We have no known replacement information in our system. We recommend you contact DeWALT directly to see if they have recently released a new substitute. Please feel free to get back in touch with us to place an order if they provide a substitution part number. Thank you. We hope this helps. Good luck with your repair. As far as the voltage from the switch, you should get 18-20 static voltage when the trigger is pulled full open.Hope that helps.Good luck. Tinker A number of time I've seen them knocked out and setting in side ways with a little bit of the brush riding on the commutator and making just enough contact to allows the tool to run.If this is the case just slide it back in the socket.Hope that helps.Good luck. Tinker Some times you can run the drill in reverse while rotating the selector ring in to drill mode. Some times if you switch from 1 to 2 to 3 gear and run the tool it will free up the pin. Also by loosing the front screws about 1 turn of the way out and lightly turning the ring it will free the pin.But be very careful not to loosen the four front screws too much as the rear transmission plate will pop out and not allow you to tighten the screws without taking the transmission completely out.Just keep trying and in a good many of the cases it will just start working again.Hope this helps.Good luck. Tinker I'm pretty sure that my chuck is stripped badly. I was able to remove a stuck drill bit, but i am unable to open the chuck enough to access the left handed screw. The chuck will close all the way but will only barely open.http://www.zulassungsdienst4you.de/bilder/boss-bx-600-manual.xml

If I could open it enough to even get a bit extention in there I could salvage the tool or remove the chuck. Any ideas? Thanks again for the info, Ducky. It won't go to drill or hammer. Is there an easy fix? Still need to look into why this is so. Seems like something is to blame for this. Guess i'll check with the guys at ereplacement The first 4 digits is the year the tool was made the second will be the week and i think the last where it was made. The transmissions have a three year warranty so if your tool fall within the three years you can get a replacement transmission under warranty.
