I couldn't find any at a reasonable price. I ran across this RAM, and figured I would give it one last chance to live before going out on the curb for the scrappers. The RAM came right up, and caused this machine to come to life. It's now back in full service. Thanks for saving my OptiPlex 755!I loaded in an old Dell 755 SSF and found out windows 7 32 bit sees the 8GB but downgrades it to 2.99GB usable. Microsoft always trying to get their piece. I happened to have windows 7 64 bit disc from an old dead computer and installed it on a new partition and wallah 8 usable Gigs. Big improvement over the 4 I had and even with the minor hassle I am glad I did it. Remember with windows 7, 64 bit is required on this model dell and potentially others so check first.The memory was supposed to be easy to install. I was afraid to press it down hard enough to click into place. So I made it hard.My computer actually runs normally now, without lag. I am very pleased. This did exactly what I needed.Turns out having more ram just lets chrome use more. Oh well, it wasn't an expensive upgrade.Two I could never get to work. When I put the memory in it whistled like it was going to overload the motherboard. I am NOT happy and will not buy like this again. I will spend the extra money and go directly to Dell.Internet Browsing is much faster I know that so far and all the annoying waits are gone. More work to be done to upgrade my entire network.Installed easily on the first try. Made a big performance difference. Thank you!
