There's a whole other more technical way to record into your computer using MIDI technology. You will not be recording the actual drum sounds coming out of the DD65 but rather digital information from the MIDI output of the DD65. The information that is recorded in a MIDI track on your recording software will now play the various drum sounds (or any other sound; piano, flute, etc.) off your sound card or plugins in your computer. The big advantage is that now can edit the volume, panning, timing, etc.Add reverb on the snare only, if you want by cutting and pasting the snare data onto it's separate midi track. You will have to buy a midi interface device, (they're not expensive) and go into your computers USB port. Good luck and have fun! There's a whole other more technical way to record into your computer using MIDI technology. Good luck and have fun! We apologize for the confusion. The only difference I saw was the the MM offered the foot pedals and drum sticks. It does have a claves sound that does have a similar sound of steel pans. I hope you found this helpful. The KP65 bass kick pad has a volume control on the back of it. Also, if you do buy the KP65 bass kick pad you will need a regular bass drum pedal to use with it. But, it makes a huge difference in bass sound even just through the DD65 system only. Try the headphones to listen to see if the bass pedal is working. I hooked a Yamaha MS50DR Drum Monitor to the DD65 and it sounds pretty close to an acoustic drum set. I will say the button pedals that come with this kit aren't very good, but you should still hear the bass a little without customizing the DD65 with the accessories I mentioned. With adding the Yamaha KP65 Bass Drum Kick pad, the Yamaha MS50DR Drum Monitor for sound with this DD65, this kit sounds amazing!!! Remember if you do that you need to buy a single or double bass drum pedal to use for the KP65 bass kick. It will take a double bass pedal, that's what I use. Anyway, just some recommendations, I was not satisfied with the bass sound on the DD65 without adding the Drum Monitor. After that the DD65 Rocks!! You will really feel what you are playing. The DD65 is a Great kit. Hope that helps. The KP65 bass kick pad has a volume control on the back of it. Hope that helps. I use it to trigger drum software with a built-in mixer.
