The fact that some people don't know how to use a proper browser and enter some data given inside of the book to download resource files (which are not required to use the book nor understand any of it and consist of a few audio clips) shouldn't take this outstanding text down to 4 stars let alone 1. I'd tell those people to find any book written on how to produce electronic dance music that is anywhere near as comprehensive as this is with or without resource files and they will have nothing to say. Indeed, if they can't get these files (which are a breeze to download), then they lack the basic PC skills to use a DAW or softsynth and they shouldn't be considering this subject to begin with. It's shocking that they were able to purchase it on Amazon at all. So, ignore them. Het bevat eigenlijk alles wat je wilt weten over wat er komt kijken bij het maken van electronische dance music. (dat is een algemene term voor genres zoals 'trance' e.d.) Ik denk dat het boek daarom met name interessant is voor mensen die zelf electronische dance music maken of willen gaan maken in bijv.Ik heb al enorm veel nieuwe ideen opgedaan uit het boek, omdat het boek ook veel voorbeelden geeft en ook wel gericht is op de praktijk. Toch denk ik dat dit boek ook voor gevorderden veel te bieden heeft. Er zijn namelijk ook erg diepgaande stukken over ritme bijv.Dat geeft niet, die stukken herlees ik wel zodra ik zelf een gevorderde ben. Naast praktisch, is het boek ook algemeen. Daarmee bedoel ik dat het ook algemene informatie geeft over bijv.Een negatief puntje is wel dat er soms wat tekstuele fouten zijn. Dus bijv. zinnen die niet helemaal lopen zoals het zou moeten. Conclusie: ik denk dat dit boek een brede doelgroep heeft en zeker een aanrader is voor iedereen die electronic dance music wil maken. Ik denk dat het wel handig is iets van muziek theorie af te weten en ervaring te hebben met een digital audio workstation. Dit kan echter ook beginners ervaring zijn. Niet alleen het programmeren van synthesizers, maar ook het gebruik van randapparatuur, hoe maak ik een goede opname, en zelfs en beetje muziek theorie. Daarnaast is een groot deel van het boek gewijd aan verschillende stijlen electronische muziek. Hier worden tips gegeven hoe de specifieke sound van het genre tot stand komt. Het enige nadeel van dit boek is wellicht dat, juist omdat er zo veel onderwerpen aan bod komen, niets echt heel diepgaand wordt behandeld.
