Did you miss your activation email ? I like it a lot. It has a great trigger that is easily adjustable simply by turning a screw on the front grip frame. There is no plastic on this gun. The main tube is thick brass, sights are metal and easily adjustable, and the grip is walnut with a palm rest, and feels really good. It's very accurate with a Lothar-Walther barrel and very easy to cock with the long cocking lever. It's a SSP so no recoil, and very quiet. I think it's a great indoor target gun. At 6400 feet elevation I'm getting 310 fps with 7.9 wadcutters, so it should shoot about 370 fps at sea level. The heartbreaking thing about it is the cocking lever bearing. The round hole in the cocking lever is elongated into an oval. It still works just fine, but it's going to get worse. See the pictures I've attached. Be sure to click each picture to make it larger so you can clearly see what I'm talking about. How would one go about fixing something like this. I'm not a machinist. I'd love to put a better bearing in there, but not sure how to do it while making sure the pin part would stay in without falling out. I don't know where to buy something like this that would work. Perhaps the only option is to custom-make one. It can't extend beyond the thickness of the cocking arm because it needs to fit inside the slot in the main tube when the arm is closed. I suppose that slot could be opened up at that one spot so that a thicker bearing would clear it. Does anyone have an idea. Perhaps someone with machining skills and tools wants a challenge and would rather just buy the gun off me. I don't think it would be worth it for me to pay someone to fix it. How much is it worth. I'm open to any and all ideas here. Thanks! I called Daisy and although they do not have the cocking arm for the 777, they do have it for the cheaper 747 and 717, even though they no longer make any of these guns. The pivot pin has three dots on both ends. I'm wondering if that pin is two pieces and unscrews with a special tool, or if it is pressed on and possibly flared. After getting the replacement, I may experiment on the original cocking arm to see if I can fashion a heavier-duty and maybe larger diameter bearing. Having a lathe would be nice. Does the second lever (the silver one) look the same on your 747 as it does on my 777. On mine it is a milled from a solid piece of steel. I read the cheaper 717 and 747 use a stamped piece there. See picture of the part. Click the picture to see it full-size. Imagine what something similar would cost from a German, Swedish, or English airgun manufacturer. I can't say enough good things about this pistol. I also have a Beeman P3 that I love because it's accurate and has a great trigger. However, this Daisy is even more accurate, has an even better trigger, and is easier to cock. I also found it's easy to work on, and has only one O-ring on the pump piston and one on the bolt. I highly recommend this gun. Unfortunately it's no longer made, so you can only find it on the used market. At least parts are still available, and cheap. Too bad more manufacturers are not making single-stroke pneumatic airguns.Killed nations of grasshoppers with it. Hanging on to mine. I Have about a dozen now I think. I have 2 each of the 777, 747, 722, and about 6 717s. Many are like new in the original box but I got some on ebay that needed work and repaired and painted them myself. They are easy guns to work on. Actually for target shooting I prefer the 747 over the 777. I have noticed that the price has been going up a lot on all the 7xx recently. I prefer shooting them over my other more expensive FWB 65s and other precision target pistols. I would suggest if you plan on keeping your 777 long term that you stock up on seal kits and a valve kit or 2 now while Daisy still has them cheap because the parts are disappearing from them fast and no longer made. Also Veron Austin makes beautiful replacement grips for them in left and right handed in adition to ambi if anybody is looking for some. I have the original locking wooden briefcase I think it came with. It has my father-in-law's name engraved on a brass plate attached to this suitcase. Did Daisy do the engraving or is it something my father-in-law must have had done himself. See picture. Both of my 777s came in a regular foam and cardboard (top) box with oil, a sight tool, pellets, cleaning rod, manual, and other paperwork. I believe some included a scope mount also. I not sure but Daisy may have sold the case as an accessory. Anybody know? It's really a nice looking case and should add to the value, how much would depend if it is factory though. The prices seem to be going up lately on ebay for the Daisy 7xx series. I have found great deals on them on Arms List also. Therefore I assume it was included with the 777 or an accessory since it was the top-of-the-line pistol. It makes sense that the cheaper 747 and 717 would not include this case. I'm still wondering about the engraved brass plate however. Sounds like something my father-in-law would do. Or maybe someone at the Daisy museum. I wonder if it was offered as an upgraded offering for the 777 only. I bought it from the original owner who got it as a gift from the NRA for upgrading to life membership. He had all of the original paperwork but I can't remember what year it was. I contacted Daisy and the NRA to try to get more info but neither could help. I kept it for a few years and then sold it. Also can't remember the amount. I still have a 747 and a 777 and without a doubt, they are the most accurate and easy to work on pistols that I have ever had. Don This makes sense. My father-in-law was a NRA Benefactor Life Member, and was active in NRA events. He was always donating money to the NRA and at Friends of NRA meetings and fundraising events. I'll bet you that is where he picked up this pistol. I'll also bet they are the ones who engraved his name on the brass plaque on the case. I got this solely for 10-meter pellet target shooting indoors to get familiar with shooting before venturing into a real semiautomatic handgun for use at a range. This pistol is very accurate and my inadquacies as a shooter are the only thing with wrong with my shots. Again, my vision and stability are not what they used to be, so I'm not olympic material!:) I originally bought a Crosman 1377 because I had one when I was younger and loved it. It was consistent, but I was not able to sight it due to bottoming out the elevation and no windage adjustments, and requiring at least 3 pumps was very tiring, time-wasting, and annoying, so back it went. With lots of money and time I'm sure it would have been a great pistol, I just don't have time or interest in tinkering with it. Enter the Avanti 747. It is fully adjustable and is spot on. It is single pump, which makes it very easy to handle, maximizes shooting time, and has no CO2 costs associated with it. It is also very quiet and will not disturb anyone. I am a bit disappointed and concerned about the plastic breach and cocking mechanism, as it seems to slightly jam and the space to insert the pellet is quite tight. It takes some finesse to operate it smoothly consistenly - so I hope it does not prematurely wear out in that area. The locking pin safety is great and very easy to operate with the pointing finger when lining up to shoot. The trigger is very smooth and predictable and minimizes any jerking. The pump is relatively easy and comfortable once you get the routine down (I'm quite fit and have no problems at all, but a child or petite woman might struggle a bit). I can crank out a shot about every 10 seconds. This gun is easy to shoot, has fully adjustable sights, is quite accurate, and seems well balanced in the hand- and it is lots of fun to shoot. I shoot indoors and use 10-meter targets taped to a large box stuffed with 10 layers of towels to catch the pellets - after penetrating the box, it won't even penetrate the first layer of towels. As a backstop, I use 6 layers of cardboard, and at point blank range it barely penetrates the 2nd layer of cardboard. So, this is not a powerful pellet gun by any means, but it is indeed quite accurate and perfect for 10-meter shooting. I use Crosman match pellets, but will experiment with others when I get some time, but these seem to be quite accurate and consistent. So don't expect to hunt anything with this pellet gun, as that is not its purpose at all. I live in a family-oriented suburb with lots of kids, so no way I can shoot outdoors, so this gun is pefect for my indoor shooting needs. Highly recommend this pellet gun for its intended purpuse of 10-meter indoor target shooting. If that is your purpose there is no way you can go wrong with the 747. Always practice gun safety rules without compromise. Enjoy! Reviewed in the United States on February 22, 2014 First time I used my new Daisy 747 Avant, I could hear air hissing out after cocking the lever. I sent it back to daisy under warranty, they fixed it, and it shot well for a while. After not using it for a few months, it leaked again. When this 747 isn't leaking, it shoots beautifully. The sights are plastic, and a little dark, but they are large and properly adjustable. The trigger is adjustable, down to nearly nothing, smooth too. The pistol has practically no vibration on firing and generates very little noise. The shot grouping is very impressive, really tight. This is a far better shooting pistol than my Tempest. Please try again later. From the United StatesI'm 47 and was an expert marksman in the Army nearly 30 years ago and always had guns (.22, shotgun,.38 revolver) as a kid. Just now getting back into shooting. Always practice gun safety rules without compromise. Enjoy! Please try again later. Please try again later. Wafin 5.0 out of 5 stars I do wish it would come with left hand grips by default but I'll have to order replacements. RBGrips do make a wooden one if need be. I prefer the single pump air guns now and I do like how easy this is to cock. I pinched myself a few times but once you figure out how to cock the gun, you'll know where not to put your fingers. Trigger is fully adjustable and is nice and wide so it's easy to put the pad of your finger on it. Very crisp action. Sites are easy to adjust but do wish they were metal instead of plastic. The pistol is a bit front heavy so single handed shooting is a bit more of a challenge but it is doable. I prefer to use two hands at any rate. Wish the bolt was not plastic but metal with a bit easier grip but I've grown used to it and now it doesn't really bother me. I doesn't stick out like my crosman 1377 or 2240 so it does provide a sleeker look to the gun. Just wish it was metal. The only other issue I'm having with this gun is that there is a connection near the front of the pistol where the pump handle connects to and this joint has a pivoting screw that drops a bit when priming the pistol. It has rubbed away a grove on the outside of the pistol since it drops lower then it should but it doesn't feel like it will fall out. It just settles down a bit below the priming handle and has rubbed a bit away from from the barrel that holds the air pump handle, not the actual shooting barrel. Sorry if I'm confusing you but this is a very good pistol and I do use it indoors and have very little concern about disrupting neighbors. It is very quiet but it can be heard through simple wooden doors but through walls it's just a slight muffle. Fine for homes and apartments. At work, like some people have the benefits, it's a bit harder to conceal during your lunch time practice sessions. Please try again later. Please try again later. Amazon Customer 5.0 out of 5 stars Maybe a little more power, but only if accuracy doesn't suffer. This pistol is a tack driver. But sometimes the pellet doesn't cut a clean hole. Thus a few more fops would be nice. Cocks easily, loading is easy, and the sights are standard adjustable knoch and post. I haven't even touched the trigger, only zeroed the sights. I have over 500 rounds through her already and not a single problem. It did need a little over 50 rounds before it finally settled down to the tight groups it is capable of. I almost got the 717, but figured I would be wanting the better one and would regret getting the cheaper one. Well I am very happy with this one and can reccomend it for target shooting. It is not powerful enough for popping rats. Accurate enough for hitting them, but not enough power for hunting them. Please try again later. Please try again later. sinaus 5.0 out of 5 stars The 1st one I received was having many issues. Firstly the cocking lever I noticed had pretty bad dent. This dent was from cocking the pistol and upon closing it hit the screw on the pistol body. I was pretty ok with the dent but it stopped to fire after just about 20 odd shots. Initially I was able to release the jam but later it got to a point that nothing can be done to release the jam and now the pistol is in a state that it is permanently pumped. I bought this on my birthday and I was really frustrated a within an hour or so I can't shoot anymore. I requested a replacement and the next day I received the replacement pistol and immediately I put it to test. So far I had shot almost 200 pellets and not a single issue. It is such a nice pistol to shoot and the accuracy is very good. I was very surprised that it is not pellet fussy. I was getting dime size grouping (5 meters) using my very cheap pellet by Crosman. I will be shooting at 10 meters tomorrow and hope that this pellet will hold up too. Pro of this pistol: quiet, accurate and reasonable quality for the price point. Cons: Nothing really but it will be very nice if it can hit a bit harder. Please try again later. Please try again later. SHAWNP 5.0 out of 5 stars Having shot a walther cp2 club pistol prior to buying this i wasnt sure what to expect but couldnt dish out the big bucks for a walther or steyr so I took a gamble. The pistol is nice, cast alright with a couple of rough edges here and there but not too bad. The trigger is good, not great but good. I can compare it to the trigger on a Ruger Mkiii pistol. After 100 rounds of practice I was shooting in the 80's on a regulation 10m target at 33ft. Best i did with the walther co2 high dollar gun was an 88. With some more practice i think i can get there with this gun. The gun gets a bit heavy after long shooting session. The sights are good. This is by far the best firearms invesment I have made to date in regards to value to price paid. I have way more fun shooting this gun than any of my rimfire or centerfire pistols.Pellets I have shot Meisterkugeln (7 grain) and crossman premier super match pellets (7.9 grain) They both shoot equally as well. The Meisterkugeln look more refined but the crossman premier seem to group about the same. Please try again later. Please try again later. Just Jim Top Contributor: Photography 5.0 out of 5 stars The gun is very well made. It is obvious that care was taken to grind out molding lines, especially on the pump arm. It looks nice. The finish on the gun I received was unmarked. The little metal adjustment tool did not damage the finish in shipping. It was wrapped in paper and held fast against the frame by the pressure of the pump lever. This may lighten up with use but it is still a terrific trigger. It is wide and comfortable and breaks sharply for the shot. Once you pull back to the onset of resistance further movement to the rear will fire the shot. I can't detect any creep at all. The gun is easy to pump. The grip thumb shelf tends to push the right thumb up to where it is pretty close to where the lever comes to rest so be mindful of that. Daisy makes left-handed grips. Left-handed shooters will want those since the massive thumb rest is too hard to overcome when shooting left handed. My only complaint about this pistol is the tiny plastic bolt lever. Its action is very stiff. Its angular shape gives it edges which soon make the fingertips sore. Once you get used to it, it's not so bad. This is a target pistol, no more. You should not try to hunt with it. It is designed to accurately put pellets into a paper target or to hit spinners, silhouettes, or just general plinking. I highly recommend this pistol. You could spend a lot more and do much worse. It's a terrific shooter and it is very hard to put down once you get started. If you pass it around to your friends it might be quite a while before it comes back to you. Please try again later. Please try again later. Milrose 5.0 out of 5 stars The packaging is not double-boxed, the interior box is a half-box styrofoam affair that fits inside the cardboard mailing carton. I ordered it from Pyramyd via Amazon. All vendors use this same packaging as it originates with Daisy. None of them repackage the piece nor do they open it to inspect before shipping it out. In fact, Daisy packs a bright orange instruction sheet that says if you have problems (defective gun, etc.) Do Not Return the airgun to the retail store where you purchased it, return it to Daisy. So, for all of you collector types, you do not get much of an original box. The name on the gun is Daisy Power Line 747. The pellet gun comes with a bit of oil on it and in it--particularly inside the barrel. Instructions tell you to run several cotton patches down the barrel to get rid of the excess oil before you fire it. If you don't have a.177 ramrod, a wood dowel or bamboo skewer works well and it will not scratch or ding the rifling in the barrel. The front sight is a metal blade and ramp and the rear is plastic and completely adjustable for windage and elevation. It was easy to adjust. The safety is a T-bolt and works fine. There is a metal, ? circle shroud on it on the side where you push it off of safety--a minor annoyance, but once off you can leave it off. The trigger is wide, smooth, and can be finely adjusted down to a one pound pull. An adjustment tool is packaged with the gun. The checkered grips are fairly large plastic target grips with a great thumb rest and come in left or right hand. Mine fit well and do not slip or creep. They are dark in color and really don't look that bad--they still feel and sound like plastic. These terms and conditions, as amended by Canadian Tire from time to time, constitute the entire agreement between the Member and Canadian Tir e with respect to eCTM.
