Very often issues with D-Link DCS-6620G begin only after the warranty period ends and you may want to find how to repair it or just do some service work. Even oftener it is hard to remember what does each function in Digital Camera D-Link DCS-6620G is responsible for and what options to choose for expected result. Fortunately you can find all manuals for Digital Camera on our side using links below. Connected to a network in a building, campus, or to the broadband Internet, it provides you with high-quality video and audio monitoring. Equipped with built-in Web server, 2-way audio for listening and talking, and a rotation motor, this camera can be panned, tilted and zoomed remotely from a PC connected to a local network or the Internet. With motion detected image recording, time-saving trigger event playback, alert message and powerful software for multi-camera monitoring and management, this camera provides a comprehensive system for convenient surveillance from both a local site or remotely from anywhere in the world. The 10x optical zoom lens delivers the level of detail necessary to identify people, license plate numbers, and other important details that are difficult to clearly view with digital zoom. Instead of recording 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, images can also be recorded only when motions are detected. This saves disk space and eliminates the time wasted to view unnecessary images. Playback consumes little time with triggered event browsing and fast database searching. With support for both Motion JPEG and MPEG-4 recording, this camera is well suited for various recording scenarios. Motion JPEG delivers greater file integrity, making it ideal for critical monitoring situations. MPEG-4 video has smaller file sizes, making it more useful for extended recording periods or for use in low bandwidth networks. The D-Link 10x optical zoom Internet camera provides a built-in microphone. Attach a speaker to this camera, and you can remotely communicate with people near the camera. An ideal location to use this 2-way audio feature includes point-of-entry areas, where you might want to identify a person before granting access. With the ability to record video in low light settings, the camera can provide exceptional nighttime surveillance. Extreme low light sensitivity of.05 Lux enables recording in near total darkness. You can remotely monitor your camera using a web-based interface, or through the D-Link IP surveillance software. The web-based interface lets up to 10 simultaneous users view the live feed from the camera. Using the feature-rich IP surveillance program, monitor and manage up to 16 cameras, set recording schedules, configure motion detection settings, and change settings to multiple cameras. Two camera models are available for selection: DCS-6620 with an Ethernet port, and DCS-6620G with Ethernet and 802.11g wireless interfaces. The wireless model offers installation flexibility and freedom of wireless connectivity in difficult locations without the hassle of running Ethernet cables.Cameras on Single Screen: 16 - Reset Button - Max. After a bit of research, it turns out there is a buggy interaction between. Internet Explorer sending a fairly long string about what type of file. At the same time you can engage its powerful 10x optical zoom to bring people and objects into close view for better inspection. There are also a number of preset PTZ positions that you can set the camera to follow. PTZ operation is also possible locally using the supplied remote control. Dual Streaming Video can be captured in either the MPEG-4 or M-JPEG compression formats. This allows a user to choose between the more stable M-JPEG format and the lower bandwidth MPEG-4 format to suit a particular application. 10x Optical Zoom With the simple click of a mouse from a remote Internet location, a user can activate the camera's powerful 10x optical zoom to get a better look at people and objects. 2-Way Audio By using an optional external speaker together with the camera's built-in microphone, a user can hear and speak with a person at the camera location. This is a very useful feature for retail stores, controlled entry facilities, factories or any other applications requiring voice along with video communication. Simple to Operate Instead of having to recall a string of numbers, you can assign the camera an easy-to-remember name and domain such as www.mycamera.myddns.com, available free at many domain host providers online. Because this name is dynamic rather that static, it stays permanently with the camera and will not change even if you switch your Internet provider.Among other features, it allows video or snapshots to be archived directly to a hard drive, supports the monitoring of up to sixteen cameras on a single screen simultaneously by up to ten users and initiates recording at a date and time, or when motion is detected. You may need to test different shutter settings for your environment. The default setting of the CCD is in the auto-iris mode. If the shutter is selected to auto, the iris of the CCD will become fixed. Faster shutter speed will allow fast moving objects to be seen more clearly. There are 9 levels of white balance that can be adjusted that will help the camera to capture video with correct colors. This is used mostly for monitoring indoor objects. Adjustments are from 3200K-8000K to get the correct colors. When object is in front of bright lights it is sometimes difficult to see, selecting this option and adjust sensitivity level can allow object to become clearer to see. The window is divided into 48 squares, select the squares that BLC is required; if no squares are selected there will be no differences in the video. However, a few years into use and housed within the DCS-70 Dome, the camera's base broke and caused the camera to swivel incorrectly and it would end up facing the wrong direction. With the exception to the fault in the plastic base, the camera performed very well for video and access. This camera is worth every penny. The 2 way Audio support is also amazing, I can pick up almost every speech of my 700 Square Feet Store, and when I'm traveling (and when i'm at my office too) I can use the camera like an IP Phone. You Name It, the Camera excels it: Image Quality, Sound Quality, EXTREME ZOOM, Low Light Image Quality, Motion Detection (and maybe a dozen more useful functions I can't remember at this moment or haven't got the time to learn). This camera has it all. Update: April 2009. Still working flawlessly almost Non-Stop for all this years, and to this date, I haven't seen something comparable (in image quality, integrated web-server, two-way audio) installed here in my country, for a technology product to be up to date for all this years, seems that D-Link really made a future-proof product!.Everything was working properly, both on the LAN and over the Internet. After a week, the device was no longer visible on the network (LAN nor Internet). The D-Link configuration program could not see it on the LAN, it could not be pinged, and following the instructions to reset the device and restore the factory defaults did not resolve the problem. D-Link's support, which is based in India, was not helpful and could not understand that the camera was physically 3,000 miles away from where I was. This thing is a dinosaur! The main problem is that the cameras periodically hang and the only way to fix the problem is to power cycle them. The motion detection is a bit hit and miss but once detected the e-mail notification etc. works well. I purchased the DCS6620G because of its optical zoom. The picture quality is exceptional and the zoom works well but is somewhat jerky. The network scan feature is really usful especially if you use a network repeater or have neighbors with a WiFi network. Avoiding conflicting channel settings is a great help. The main problem I have encountered is the camera hanging requiring a power cycle to reset the camera. A real annoyance if the camera is monitoring an unattended premises. I switched to using Panasonic cameras and these work reliably and to date I have not experienced a single hung camera. If you get a black screen then look at your port fowarding. The D-Link cameras all need THREE ports opening. If you fail to open the port used for video you will get a blank screen. I am surprised D-Link tech support did not spot this. But then again the D-Link Tech Support is lacking it so many areas one should not be surprised. I would never buy another D-Link camera! This being the most expensive of the line, would have the least reviews and exposure. Read about the others before buying. I was just called to a new client site last week that has 11 cameras installed. I've used netstumlber and a few other apps to verify the wireless network health, which in my opinion is very good. At the farthest point, I am still receiving 92 signal with a non-enhanced Linksys router. Other devices on his network are problem free; the issues are isolated to the cameras. They are running the latest firmware. It would be something I would be interested in since if they do work as promised, I could recommend them to future clients. I will follow-up if Dlink provides an actual solution. AIM is my username above if anyone has jumped this hurdle. FOLLOW-UP 10 days have passed and not a peep back from DLink Tech support. I called their sales line and someone immediately picked up. The cameras were boxed up and sent back. I was able to pull a few down and place them in a controlled environment for testing. Of the 3 I tested, 1 locked up within 24 hours. Not a good score. Still they also are trying to get into the infrastructure market with hubs, switches, and larger corporate items. I support over 40,000 users on my main account and their line is one I can't recommend. Waiting for DLink. Not too confident they will get back to me.In order to navigate out of this carousel please use your heading shortcut key to navigate to the next or previous heading.
