curtis youngblood atg manualI went to the CY website, downloaded the manual, manual addendum and it is full of omisisons and errors - I need some help from anyone who may have done this My 9303 includes a governor menu which allows me to send a different ATV level per flight mode, which is tied to my gear channel on my 7 channel recvr on the heli. My governor menu lets me set the atv for the gear channel for each of my 3 flight modes and I am used to this setup from my other helis, where I set head speed per fligh mode. I then switched my flight mode switch to Stunt 1 and the Governor stopped blinking the LED's and I could not tell what my other asetting were going to give me RPM wise. The instruction, the adendums, and corections on the web site are useless ( I am very surprised at the poor documentation - I had heard good things about CY stuff, and this is my first product from him and I am not impressed ) - Anyways, does anyone know how to set up one of these things with the aux channel set to flip between my 3 flight modes. I bought the heli here and I am getting ready to rip out this thing and put a Futaba GV-1 in it - simple to setup with documentation that actually is accurate Any help would be appreciated! My other choice would have been the Vibe 90 set up for FAI or the MA FAI Tempest. The Avro 90 is an expensive machine but there is nothing that needs to be upgraded.I still have the opportunity to pick one up but havn't.The Gyro Mounting System is unlike anything seen in anyother helicopter. Servo Arm Supports are supplied for both JR and Futaba servos.http://www.proactiveparents.ca/userfiles/engenius-durafon-4x-hc-manual.xml

For the price you expect top workmanship - design - support, and you get all of this. The Manual is very well done and of very good quality. The Avro 90 is Very Tunable for any style of flying, 3D to FAI F3C - And the Manual and the Separate Avro 90 Set Up Guide explains very well how to setup to the style of flying you want. Good Luck, Cherokee Jim Mahoney All rights reserved. It went up over the top just fine, but the engine seemed to lose power on the descent causing an alarming drop in height. As it bottomed, the blades sort of auto'd, the engine sprang back to life and the heli came out of the bottom of the loop about 10 - 15 feet off the ground having started the loop at least 50 - 60 ft up!! A scary moment! I have the CY ATG in basic mode and used the engine kill point to set the low point. Reading the manual again, it seems to note this behaviour and suggests re-setting the low point with the trim above the engine kill point. Has anyone else suffered this - any suggestions as to how many clicks to give the trim. I did it twice today and don't relish another low pass tbh. Thanks for any advice Keith I don't understand what throttle low actually means though. Surely, if the throttle in basic mode is set to 1800rpm, that's what it should maintain.? Or on the descent does it cut the power to 35 of zero. Many thanks, Keith If the governor cuts in from 30 (or 35) throttle and the revs are set at 1800, why would the governor decide to cut out when the collective is pushed all the way to 100 and the heli is in danger of planting itself in the ground. Surely the governor aims to maintain the given headspeed, not cut out. Lastly - how accurate are the headspeed settings do you reckon. I've read that they are only approximate - perhaps I don't actually have 1800rpm. Back in January, after a minor crash:-( I landed and the governor wouldn't cut out - had to wait for the fuel to run dry.http://myplumbingwebsite.com/userfiles/engenius-durafon-4x-manual-pdf.xmlI have an Align RCEG600 on my 90 and SiG emailed me with one from the BMFA classifieds last night, so I bought it and will swap it out. Cannot afford to 'plant' a Raptor 50 for the sake of a confusing governor. Cheers Keith I have an Align RCEG600 on my 90 and SiG emailed me with one from the BMFA classifieds last night, so I bought it and will swap it out. Cheers Keith oh well that wont help me much if i get mine, oh well will have to hope is ok for me. Do you think that re-setting the low point could cure it. Might be worth a reprieve - I just wish these manuals were more understandable - even CY himself admits it's wrong. Thanks Keith Could the issue be insufficient power from the engine. When I looped, the governor couldn't command enough power. Or am I way off the mark. Thanks again, Keith I'm assuming you've got equal pos and neg pitch in these idle up modes, have you. If you have, then your throttle curves should be the same each side of centre stick. I'd also say the centre number is way too high. Your headspeed at zero degs must be mental! 40 - 45 at centre should be more than enough. I guess the curves are a throw back from the learning days - not doing any fancy manoeuvres yet, just sport flying, circuits and now loops. I've not yet flown with the new curves - just dialled them in today, so they need changing yes. An earlier post details what they were (52-52-52-75-100) and that didn't give me any crazy headspeed - but shouldn't the governor sort that out anyway. Thanks for the help, Keith Lol, haven't used a governor before. You don't need a gview, it's easy without. Anyone know of a model shop in Surrey that can help with this service?? It won't switch between head speeds I set. I haven't changed anything. Checked the sensor is picking up, and the setup still seems the way it should. Any ideas?? --- I am here:,-0.565817. I prefer to sell it all as a combo since it all Curstis Yougblood Brand and the G-View works both the gyro and governor. I still have the box and manual for the Solid-G but you can get current manuals online. Sensor is also with the ATG. Basically everything you see in the picture. Makes for an easy and quick setup, allows access to hidden menus for extra fine tuning of your ATG, Solid G, Ect. You do not need to change this if you have already gone through the initial setup in the manual. Do not need to change this, although for the 600N make sure you are set on T-rex600. It will flash the model setting quickly when you enter this mode then switch to asking you if you want to switch it to a Vibe. Then turn off the radio. In our opinion, the G-View is a must, but NOT a necessity. The gyro will work PERFECTLY without it.They are not packaged together as a set because once you purchase 1 G-View you do not need to buy any more. Even if you have 5 ATGs and 5 Solid-Gs you only need 1 G-view. How does it work? Phase sensor produce a square signal from the pulses that drive the electric motors. The signal changes depending how fast the pulses are firing (i.e. RPM of the motor). That way the VBar can read the signal and by that determine what RPM the motor is running. Some combinations might cause interference (unstable readings), you will notice this already in hover, the RPM changes constantly. Only thing you can try then is to change the speed controller setting for frequency and timing, if that does not help, you need to install a Magnet and use a hall effect sensor type (to read the magnet). 1st signal line: Raw signal, all 3 phases from ESC to motor. This could be detected as a new phase depending on the sensor design and will cause changing RPM in hover. There is 1 item in your cart. This Dual Mode Governor features simply push button setup, rpm indication lights, and a small slim case. Compatible with G-view display Modes of Operation Basic mode- a simple, quick start option for setting up the ATG. Set the rpm range via push button and indication lights and go fly. Nothing but basic curves needed. Active Throttle Mode- Much more than just a limiter. In Active Mode ATG allows you to run your throttle curves and mixes to optimize engine performance, while still governing to to a set RPM. ATG passes through all your throttle curves and mixes and simply modifies that signal as needed to keep your set RPM. Note! When going through initial setup please do Quick setup (steps 1- 12) first. Comes in origional box with manual, mounting tape and decals. Fully optimized for aggressive 3D and Precision flying. Features an amazingly constant pirouette rate and solid straight line hold. Allows for the use of any tail servo and is a breeze to setup. The Solid G allows for the use of any tail servo currently available on the market, from the Futaba 9256 to the JR 8700g. All you have to do is pick which servo you will be using from the menu and plug it in. Also the unit allows you to select the type of helicopter you are flying. Vibe, Stratus, Trex 600 and Synergy all have preprogrammed base maps to make it that much easier to tune the unit to your machine. The Solid G was designed to be used with the G-View (sold separately). So everyone that gets a Solid G should also get a G-view in our opinion. We do not pack them together as a set because once you purchase 1 G-View you do not need to buy any more. Even if you have 5 ATG's and 5 Solid G's you only need 1 G-View.- Includes manual and double-sided Designed for use with the ATG, Solid G, etc. The G-View makes for an easy and quick setup, allows access to hidden menus for extra fine tuning of your ATG and Solid G.Every helicopter I sell is rebuilt from the GROUND UP RC HELICOPTERS. Taken down to the frame, parts are tested, cleaned or replaced depending on the condition. My goal is to give you a helicopter thats used but in better than new condition. Every one is tested on a test stand after I build it and set to fly with novice settings. Once it's set I'll take it on a short flight, no 3D or acrobatic flying, just normal flying. If it passes both tests it goes up for sale. She was killed by her own friend, who drove through a stop sign not paying attention. The mounting bracket which holds the sensor will be mounted usually on the two hex screws that hold the motor to the frame of the heli. Its a very simple process. Setting it up however can be tricky for the first time. But will be amazed afterwards how simple it can be. As for choosing the right governor, I really can't help you there. I know the GV-1 has alot of nice features but from what I read it is outdated. I use a Throttle Jockey Pro that works perfect and basically from what I can tell it does the same thing for half the price. The only problem is you will have to buy a tachometer which costs 90 bucks and by then you've got the price of a GV-1.There are other Governors out there tho. You've got the MultiGov which is very nice and lightweight. And then theres the ATG made by Curtis Youngblood. I have not flown either of these however, I have seen the ATG and it does not disappoint. It also has great support and the information that comes with it goes though everything as far as the setup. I have a friend that has been very impressed with it. Hope this helped JeffNot sure what Americans call them. Since you are in the UK I would recommend the Revlock RL20 from CSM. Using the PC interface, the RL20 can either be set up as a governor or as a limiter - your choice. I bought mine through Midland Helicopters. CSM stuff here I have a GV-1 which is acceptable, but the Revlock blows it into the weeds. Far superior performance than the flashier looking GV-1 with its LCD panel. Also the manual for the GV-1 is probably the worst written technical document in the history of the universe.ever! The GV-1 is basically only a governor but it can be set up to automatically control the high needle on the carb as well. But. Most people never require this nowadays and to do so you'd need a sixth servo and the right type of carb.Problem is, it probably doesn't make US sense JeffThe CSM RL20 is my personal favorite. It weighs half as much as a gv1, costs half as much and works twice as fast, you also dont need a tach to set it up like some other offerings. About the only two things it lacks is highest speed in flight which the gv1 can display and inflight mixture control which hasnt been used since the Beatles were popular (my UK refference ) My second choice is the Multigove by Aerospire, it costs a bit more for the first one but once you get the LCD you can just buy the unit and the sensor. Also a governor is nice but you dont really benefit much from it until you are doing more serious aerobatics that load and unload the head quickly.Makes us UK guys well all welcome. Sticken out, thats Belfast for OK GV1 is old, doesnt support digital servos and is slow. Edit: FWIW I have both, my 3d birds get the RL20s, (v2, titan, avant) and my scale birds got Aerospires, I can open the door, plug in the lcd and not worry about being able to see the leds.Use of this site indicates your consent to the Terms of Use. With the Futaba 14MZ the signals to the servos from Channels 1-3, 7-9 and 14 (Group A) all are sent at the same time. The signals from channels 4-6 and 10-13 (Group B) are sent at a different time. Thus with the ATG the throttle and Aux(RPM) channels must be from different groups. The default throttle channel in the Futaba is Channel 1, and Channels 4-6 are normally used for Aileron, Elevator, and Collective. With the ATG, the governor function can be assigned to any of the available channels in Group B. We have actually used channel 10 and 11 for this and it functioned fine. The procedure we used is as follows: Go to the Linkage Menu Function Assign an unused Aux channel to Channel 7 (normal governor channel). Then push the page button twice. If you push it again it changes to ORIG. What this now means is the flight mod switch now controls this mix. If you hit the page button again to get back to the first page, you can see the curve. As you flip the idle up and throttle hold switches the vertical line moves to different positions on the curve. All you need to do is store points for each of these positions and then raise or lower the curve to change the RPM. So you now have control of RPM using the stunt mode (idle up) switches. The only other thing to do is go to the second page on the mix menu by hitting the page button again. On this page you can select when you want this mix on or off. Technical Information ATG is rated up to 12V operation. NOTE: When going through initial setup please do Quick setup (steps 1- 12) first. Detailed instructions not in proper order for step by step setup. ATG - uses a hall affects sensor to monitor Engine RPM (compatible with Throttle Jockey) Note: it is not compatible with CSM sensors!! Comes with all hardware needed to use on 30 -90 size glow powered machines. How to tell the difference between ATG V1 and V2 1.) V2 has a small blue dot on the packaging with a “2” on it.
