Thanks! This guide will cover the current way of obtaining equipment introduced with the iTCG system as well as the relevant badge exchange quest. Important Information: As of v.210, iTCG crafting has been removed from the game. All Badge Redemption and Exchange Quests have been removed. This guide is now only relevant between v.171 and v.209. Preque sts Like most of the deeper content in the game, there are prequests required. You will only need to complete three quests minimally. Click here if you need video help navigating the forest. Lv. 90 - Welcome To New Leaf City. Speak to Icebyrd Slimm and complete his quiz, this unlocks the rest of the quests in town and the Phantom Forest, which you can all mostly ignore. Lv. 112 - The Fallen Woods Speak to Taggrin at Dead Man's Gorge and accept his quest to collect 25 Phantom Seeds. After completing The Fallen Woods, there won't be an active quest from Taggrin until you have the Map of Phantom Forest. H owever, you can retrieve the map early by travelling to Jack Barricade without doing any other quests. Lv. 112 - The Right Path After receiving the Map of Phantom Forest from Jack Barricade, return to Taggrin and speak with him. After completing The Right Path, you do not have to do any additional quests. Joko's badge redemption exchange and Fiona 's item crafting are available after completing it. However, if you wish to retrieve the Marker of Heroism to skip past the Valley of Heroes jump quest, you need to finish additional quests. This is only useful if you plan on extensively farming for badges. You do not need this item for anything related to the exchange quest, it's purely for convenience. You can either farm badges in the Phantom Forest maps, or you can simply do the Valley of Heroes jump quest to travel to the Crimsonwood Mountain maps. This questline is very annoying due to the map layouts, low spawn rates, and just simply walking. You may teleport freely within New Leaf City, Bigger Ben, and the Krakian Jungle maps however. To begin, you still need to have completed Welcome To New Leaf City to unlock all the other quests in the area. Lv. 98 - Subani's Legacy - Discovery Speak to John Barricade in Bigger Ben's Lobby and accept his quest to defeat 100 Killa Bees. Lv. 100 - Lost! Speak to Elpam Gorlab in New Leaf City and accept his quest to retrieve 30 Elpam Magnets while defeating 60 Fire Tusks. Lv. 102 - ReVersal Speak to Elpam Gorlab in New Leaf City and accept his quest to retrieve 60 Temporal Fragments while defeating 120 Electrophants. I recommend doing this quest at the same time as Subani's Legacy - Transgression. Lv. 102 - Subani's Legacy - Transgression Speak to John Barricade in Bigger Ben's Lobby and accept his quest to retrieve 50 Hyper Glyphs while defeating 100 Electrophants. I recommend doing this quest at the same time as ReVersal. Lv. 106 - Subani's Legacy - Deliverance Speak to John Barricade in Bigger Ben's Lobby and accept his quest to retrieve 25 Map Piece s while defeating 50 I.AM.ROBOT's. Lv. 112 - The Brewing Storm Speak to the Nameless Warrior in Phantom Road and accept his quest to retrieve 15 Stormbreaker Badges while defeating 100 Stormbreakers. You can either do this quest while in the Phantom Forest, or you can wait until you're in Crimsonwood Mountain doing the next quest. Lv. 112 - Finding Jack Speak to John Barricade in Bigger Ben's Lobby and accept his quest to deliver a letter to Jack Barricade. Navigate through the forest until you reach Lower Ascent. Jack is located in the Cavern of Pain visible on the left side of the Lower Ascent. I recommend doing The Brewing Storm while you are here in the Crimsonwood Mountain maps. Lv. 112 - Lost In Translation 1 Speak to Jack Barricade in the Cavern of Pain and accept his quest to deliver the Coded Communique to John Barricade in Bigger Ben's Lobby. Lv. 112 - Storming The Castle Speak to the Nameless Warrior in Phantom Road and accept his quest to defeat 75 Windraiders, Nightshadows, and Firebrands. I recommend staying in Phantom Road to complete the Windraiders and however many Nightshadows you kill during that time. I would then suggest the Crossroads map immediate from Bent Tree for the remaining Nightshadows and Firebrands. You will receive the Crimsonwood Keystone upon completion needed for Stemming The Tide. Lv. 112 - Lost In Translation 2 Speak to John Barricade in Bigger Ben's Lobby and accept his quest to deliver the Coded Communique to Elpam Gorlab. Lv. 112 - Lost In Translation 3 Speak to John Barricade in Bigger Ben's Lobby and accept his quest to return back to Jack Barricade in the Cavern of Pain. I recommend finishing Storming The Castle before returning to Jack Barricade. Lv. 112 - Stemming The Tide Speak to Jack Barricade in the Cavern of Pain and accept his quest to retrieve the Crimsonwood Keystone. You should have received the Crimsonwood Keystone as a reward from Storming The Castle earlier, meaning you can complete this instantly. Lv. 120 - The Marker Of Heroism Speak to John Barricade in Bigger Ben's Lobby and accept his quest to retrieve 1 Typhon Feather while defeating 100 Typhons. Additionally, you will need 10 Gold Ore and 1 Power Crystal Ore in order to complete the quest and craft the Marker Of Heroism. Once you've obtained the Marker of Heroism, you're able to skip the Valley of Heroes jump quest by pressing up on the statues. There is no portal indicator, just press up on them. You could potentially trade in 1000 badges and not get the crafting materials that you need for whatever it is you want. On average, I've been able to get at least 1 of every crafting item within 20 badge exchanges. I would recommend grabbing about 30 badges (for solo rolls) just so you don't have to re-farm anything. It shouldn't be difficult to figure out, but the badges drop from the corresponding monster. They have a much lower drop rate but it's potentially faster than doing the exchange quest for them. I'll list what I've personally confirmed. The former refers to the Forgotten Path, Phantom Road, and both Crossroads. However, Crimson Guardians are only found at Upper Ascent. Unfortunately, not every item or system has made it out alive. That isn't to say these equips are completely unobtainable somewhere in-game, they just aren't available through this system anymore. Ridley had an exchange quest of his own that involved trading Boss Parts for a variety of interesting equipment that is no longer available. He'll give you a Forging Manual in exchange for the crafting materials. Once you have the Forging Manual, take it to Spindle in New Leaf City. Spindle will tell you the actual crafting materials needed, at which point you can bring to him and actually make your item. The only exceptions are Bosshunter Items that John will restore himself. Simple enough right. Here are the relevant items that you'll be looking for. Jack O'Lanterns needed for Bosshunter equips are dropped by the Headless Horseman. (1) - Nightshadow Badge He'll give you a Forging Manual in exchange for the crafting materials. Simple enough right. Foxwit's Equipment Black Phoenix Shield Vorticular Gyro, Zeta Residue, Black Versal Materia To forge: Black Phoenix Shield Forging Manual, 10 Mithril Plate, 2 Sapphire, 1 Dark Crystal Ore Dark Shards Zeta Residue, Blinking Dingbat Dark Shard Earrings Forging Manual, 10 Black Crystal Ore, 10 Power Crystal Ore Sirius Cloak Blinking Dingbat, Dark Matter, Black Versal Materia Sirius Cloak Forging Manual, 5 Gold Plate, 5 Sapphire, 2 Diamond Zeta Cape Dark Matter, Vorticular Gyro Zeta Cape Forging Manual, 5 Power Crystal Ore, 5 Gold Ore, 5 Opal Here are the relevant items that you'll be looking for. Thankfully you only need Nightshadow badges for these. (1) - Nightshadow Badge However, the option to craft the Materia Orb through the Glimmer Man is still present and the single material needed from the exchange quest is still available, so if you feel so inclined to waste your time, you may do so. Glimmer Man's Materia Orb Materia Orb White Versal Material, 7 Black Crystals Glimmer Man's Equipment Andromeda Bow Materia Orb Astral Blade Materia Orb Black Hole Materia Orb Celestial Staff Materia Orb Cosmic Scepter Materia Orb Crescent Moon Materia Orb Heavenly Messenger Materia Orb Nebula Dagger 1 (LUK) Materia Orb Nebula Dagger 2 (STR) Materia Orb Sunspear Materia Orb Void Hunter Materia Orb A few of the items available through Adonis are item upgrades that still go through the crafting process, think of the initial equips as just crafting materials. Additionally, Adonis has his own exchange quest, similar to how the Ridley Statue would have worked had Nexon remembered to keep it around. You obtain Stone Denari through Joko's badge redemption and pay Adonis with it to spin the RNG wheel for a random reward. Adonis' Upgraded Equipment Black Crystal Blade Crystal Blade, One-Handed Sword Forging Manual, One-Handed Sword Forging Stimulator, 50 Black Crystal, Zakum Diamond Hard Hat Miner's Hat, 10 Boomer Core, 5 Batteries, 1 Power Crystal, 10 Silver Plate, Zakum Diamond Shroud of Zakum Cloak of Corruption, Ridley's Book of Rituals, 50 Dark Crystal, Naricain Jewel, LeFay Jewel, Zakum Diamond Wrath of El Nath El Nathian Cape, 50 Firebomb Flame, 10 Bain's Spiky Collar, 10 Dark Pepe Beak, 10 Dark Yeti's Horn, Pharoah's Wrappings, Zakum Diamond However, these item's have an absolutely ridiculous crafting cost. A few of these items are available through Joko's badge redemption without having to go through Fiona's crafting or upgrading process. If for some reason you haven't look through the full badge redemption list, I'll list the available equipment here. (10) Each - Windraider Badge, Stormbreaker Badge, Nightshadow Badge, Firebrand Badge (25) - Crimson Heart You will need: Speak to Fiona in Dead Man's Gorge to craft them after completing the relevant prequests. Q: How do I get the taos. Speak to Joko after completing the relevant prequests and redeem badges until you get what you want. Tao's are also dropped by mobs occasionally. (2) Each - Windraider Badge, Stormbreaker Badge, Nightshadow Badge, Firebrand Badge Crafting Crystal Ilbis Take my advice and just craft Crystal Ilbis instead, it's much simpler. Q: What materials will I need. You will need: Q: How do I get these materials. Speak to Joko after completing the relevant prequests and redeem badges until you get what you want.Final Thoughts Crafting is a very tedious process, and like most things in this game, it is locked behind a few prequests in an area many people may have completely forgotten about or simply don't even visit. However, most of these equips look pretty badass so they make for neat anvils. Is beauty worth it? Always. Many guides for iTCG crafting have fallen aside elsewhere on the internet, something I found very frustrating while I was trying to craft things myself. Hopefully this stays relevant because while I'll attempt to maintain upkeep, I really don't want to rewrite the entire thing if crafting gets reworked again. Also bring back muthafuckin' Ridley. He was curious afterwards though, hah. Please consider registering or whitelisting us. Thanks! The site may not work properly if you don't update your browser. We now use the profession smithing system to make weapons that you used to make with that system back in the day:P You cant give your weapon extra stats like with stimulators though, its all based on luck now. Then you get an empress weapon at 140, fafnir at 150 if you can afford it. Nobody really crafts equips anymore. However I don't think you can use forging manuals to make a BCB. At the time of writing, both my NL and my bishop (CheeSePun) are level 200. I have been playing Saga for two and a half years. I'm currently in guild Oogway. This guide is for the ambitious people who want to do raids and have high damage range and are willing to invest lots of time into maple (even if it's only a few hours a day consistently for a long period of time). I know many people who enjoy the game daily in different forms. Some people focus on doing quests, some people fm hoe (sit in free market and talk to others) and some people are committed to bonding with their guild members. All of these are legitimate ways to enjoy the game but this guide is for the people who want to level up and be strong in raids. These defining features will be essential to understanding certain recommendations in my guide. 1. The VIP Dungeon Ticket Purchasing a ticket allows you to bring your party into a special map (i.e. the dungeon) for the stated duration of time. There is a long list of monsters you can choose from. The dungeon will only spawn the specific monster that you choose. The spawn rate as well as the configuration of the map makes it the best map for training or farming. You may get an idea of what the dungeon looks like with the regular dungeon tickets obtainable by voting. The difference between the regular and the VIP dungeon tickets are that (i) the regular ticket is only for 10mins, (ii) you may bring a whole party in with the VIP ticket but only 1 character for regular and (iii) you may re-enter after you leave for the VIP ticket as long as it is still active. What this means is that the “end game” consists mostly of doing raids. The available Raids in the server are: The system only allows each character to pick up one badge. The badge may then be traded with the NPC to obtain a random prize. In essence: A decent raiding character will cost at least 20bil mesos. The fastest and most reliable way of earning this amount of mesos in MapleSaga is by: Having a mage also makes doing quests, farming etcs and training new characters. Almost all of the regular raiders on the server have a mage or have access to a mage. If you hate farming, be prepared for your journey to becoming a top player to be an extremely long one.You can usually do this at level 160 with average 20 tma equips. If you can afford NX for VIP dungeon tickets: People who want their characters to get leeched often offer to buy the dungeon ticket for you while you leech their characters. Basically: If you are a new player starting from scratch. The ideal scenario would be to (i) make HS mule then (ii) make archmage and then (iii) make meso up mule. This is the ideal set up for making mesos. You have to constantly buff your party. Also there tends to be some pot lag when using hurricane. Typically, as long as you have enough HP and you don’t have a reputation of dying you would be accepted into raids. Section 6: How to Progress in Saga Raiding guilds often host raids and recruit within the guild itself before opening to outsiders. Hence, most of the top raids aren't publicly recruited in Saga. Please do not treat your guild as simply a means to an end. A good rule to follow is to try to give more than you take from the guild. For example, offer help to guild members when you can or give discounts to guild members. Remember that MapleSaga has a very small community and reputation is really important. Making friends is more important than having good gears. Guilds can be a great help in progressing but do not take things for granted. Once again, don't just add them so you can make use of them. It's easy to smell these people from a mile away. Maple is a social game after all. A 5wa 30luk chaser equip outperforms a 6wa 20luk chaser equip. This should give you sufficient range for the top raids. Most people do Party Quests (PQs) that eventually gives these untradeable equipments. Once again, you scroll them with Chaos Scrolls for more weapon attack. Aim for 6-7 wa before moving on to improving the next equip. After that, upgrade your 3 wa dimension earrings to the transcendent dimension earrings and scroll them. There is a short guide on them here. Usually you would only scroll a perfect clean weapon this way. Interrim Weapon: Perfecting a weapon is a long arduous process as you would need around 80 white scrolls. Having an interim weapon is a good. Aim for 3-5 30 passes on an average stat weapon. For example, a clean Fist of Malice may have 61-71 weapon attack. Also remember that sometimes it is worth it to equip a lower weapon attack weapon because of lower secondary stat requirements. For example, a 68 wa craven requires 140 dex to equip while a Fist of Malice requires 220 dex to equip. However, this requires you to have friends who are really powerful. People often do 4 hours of CWKPQ with 2x EXP on. Another way of levelling is to do some of the higher level raids. Horntail and Castellan Toad in particular give pretty good EXP. It is essential to obtain TB ring 3 as it gives a lot of stats and weapon attack. You can even upgrade your ring by creating a Blessing of the Fairy (BOF) character. There is a guide here. There is a list of medals and how to get them here. These are: If you're starting out, those that are easy to complete first are: Ultimate Explorer, Socialite, Superstar and Party Quest Maniac. Scroll them with Chaos Scrolls Thank you for creating this guide Figure I'd lyk so you can correct OP. Click to expand. Thanks so much!It won't be worth it in the end if you want to play the high level game. Thanks for the guide!Wondering if anyone has the updated figures?Wondering if anyone has the updated figures. Expect 1 cs per hour on average without 2x drop It's quite an easy point to reach as long as you have gene 30. It's really easy for the Archmages to 2 hit DC. Furthermore, if you have HS (whether bishop or HS mule), people are willing to buy leech from you Personally I find it very worth it because it means every hour i spend farming now is twice as efficient. That being said, I enjoy playing bishops and took my time to get here doing raid on my bishops as well. This is way easier to do with archmages. I also HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting a Meso Up mule. (For me this means 80mil more mesos in 4 hours) But I was wondering around what ranges do you start being able to 2 Hit DC as an Archmage. Is it like Lv 150s or what sort of TMA? 1 Hit DC seems like something you need to be close to 200 with some gear to do but 2 Hit seems like a decent compromise and an obtainable goal for now.Atm I just reached third job on the mage lvl 70 and I was wondering if I could get some more elaboration on the milestones.
