Slim is in At only 6mm thin, the transmitter hides unobtrusively in your shirt pocket, purse or even handbag. They're small and light. They don't make you look stupid when you wear them, but actually look pretty cool. To sync up with the adapter is super-easy. The adapter, by the way, is SO convenient. I can plug it into my non-bluetooth enabled computer and listen to my tunes or computer games and plug it into my guitar amp when I'm jamming out, but don't want to disturb people. The battery life is great and you can just plug it in before you go to bed and leave it charging all night. It stops taking juice when it's full charged.Decent, not GREAT, but decent, battery life. Low noise (for what it is).It barely makes it across a room without totally loosing signal, and will not go through a wall or around corners. I bought this so that I could work on cars without getting the wires mixed up in everything, but considering this thing has less (practical) range then a corded unit. It sits unused on my desk. That way I wouldn't have to use the included audio transmitter with my Laptop, or with my Nokia E61 smartphone. I think I am mainly disappointed about not being able to use the headphones directly with my Nokia E61 as I wouldn't have to buy Nokia's headphone port connection and then plug the transmitter to that. That would make it harder for me to carry my smartphone around.Click here for more details. Secure shopping made faster. I suspect that sound concepts page may just 'die' as I suspect not many found it useful.Just because it is not on that list does not mean for certain it is not supported (although this could very well be). Could you do a screen dump of the page, and mark it up as to where it states your specific X-fi is not supported. Some X-Fi work with Linux and some do not, and I can not see the SB1040 version on the page you note. A good place to go, when one has tried everything they can think of and still do not have their sound working, is to write a bug report on openSUSE-11.3 component 'sound'. This brings their sound problem to the attention of the SuSE-GmbH packager, who is also a developer of the alsa sound driver. If anyone can be 100 accurate in their assessment as to a sound card's compatibility, they can for sure. There is guidance here for writing a bug report: openSUSE:Submitting bug reports - openSUSE Use your openSUSE forum user name and password to log on to bugzilla. Note the openSUSE packager will REFUSE to read a forum thread, so the bug report must have all salient information.I stopped providing you support on that thread: No Sound From Speakers.Just because it is not on that list does not mean for certain it is not supported (although this could very well be). Note the openSUSE packager will REFUSE to read a forum thread, so the bug report must have all salient information.I stopped providing you support on that thread: No Sound From Speakers.I am not quite sure why openSUSE thinks that it is an SB1040. I am trying my best to become proficient with Linux while also trying to find some solution to this problem. Thanks. The site may not work properly if you don't update your browser. In terms of sound quality, the Xtreme Audio seems better. In terms of driver support from Rob with his amazing drivers, the Xtreme Audio is also good. Am I correct? Can somebody help me with any corrections. Is there a better card that Rob supports out there?Going with an Xtreme Audio is a serious downgrade from the Xtreme Music. It's a rebranded Audigy SE, and doesn't have the Emu processing chip. The Music is similar to the Fatality card. So, either keep the card you have, or go with the Titanium.I got this for a friend as he wanted something more tailored for FPS games. Oh. and the Rob has Z series drivers out too.I just like the warmth of how the XtremeMusic sounds, while being able to hear the high frequencies. I admit it isn't perfect, but it's fine for me - the Sound Blaster Z was a very obvious downgrade, hence I returned both cards a day after getting them. I did think that the Xtreme Audio might be a little too budget, that's why I'm now glad I've asked on here to confirm my suspicions.Games' wise I will usually point people to Creatives' Z, but only after I point out that onboard audio these days are more than good enough for gaming IF you get the right one, with the right Realtek chip. I'll usually pick either as well for the all-rounders too. Music wise I always point people to the Asus Xonar Essence STX II, or at least something in that series. Hands down the best card for music. However I once read that, as far as hardware goes, the Creative Zxr is very similar to it, just implemented differently, or rather that they each tailored their cards for different customers. With the right op-amps you could get the Zxr up to snuff for music (although it'll probably cost you as much for the op-amps as it does for the card itself). Will this card be an improvement from my X-Fi Xtreme Music, or will it be very similar. How is the driver to setup. I will be using it on Windows 8.1, with a view to move to Windows 10 when they can sort out automatic updates of drivers. There was something about Dolby Digital Live that I can't recall exactly. As for drivers, it's been a while since I've install them, so unfortunately I can't speak to them. Sorry. Personally I noticed that switching from PCI to PCIe alleviated a little issue I was having while gaming. Actually it even happened with music playback. It was almost like the CPU or the motherboard was causing a problem. I couldn't isolate it. I later found out that Azuentech was making an X-Fi card, the Forte, that had replaceable op-amps, a dedicated headphone amp, and used audio grade capacitors from Nichicon, so I moved to that. Love that card. Still have it in my multimedia box in fact. Thanks you, my several year long hunt for the perfect replacement for my PCI Creative X-Fi Xtreme Music (SB0460) is over. The PCIe Creative X-Fi Titanium (SB0880) more than exceeds my expectations. The one thing that did catch me out were the speaker connections. But after reading the manual properly, my short-lived troubles were gone. I think I installed the drivers properly. If there is any way I can help, I will glady try.If there is any way I can help, I will glady try. Click to expand. Click to expand. Click to expand.
