There will be small arrows on the inner lip of the spool indicating the correct direction. Wind the string from side to side on the spool and try to prevent excessive overlap. Feed the other end of the trimmer string through the hole in the trimmer head until about 6 inches are extending from it. Insert the line into the exit hole on the hub. Align the notch with the exit hole and replace the spool back onto the spindle by pressing on it until it snaps into place. Pull the string taut and cut it with shears to a length that leaves 1 inch of clearance between the end of the string and the guard. Reconnect the spark plug wire to the spark plug.
