The value i s give n as a negative ex ponent: - 20 is a v ery good val ue whi le -8 0 is relat ively poor. Si gnal q uality can be r educed by dis tance, by inter ference from o ther ra dio - freq uency sourc es (such as cordles s teleph ones or neig hboring wir eless netw orks ), and by obs ta cles betw een the route r and t he wir eless devic e. Time Online: Simply the amo unt of time th e dev ice has b een conn ected to the r outer. Kick: Cl ick on t his but ton t o disconnec t a cl ient. If GPS i s suppor ted m ake sure the modem is in an area w here it ca n rec eive a s ignal fro m the GPS satellit es. For each type o f devi ce, dif ferent i nformati on w ill be i ncluded i n the Dev ice Infor mation s ection. For mode ms, th e Di agnosti cs secti on pr ovides specific infor mation a bout how the modem is communi cating w ith i ts carr ier. Y ou can als o see a LED dis play of the curr ent signal streng th.The wireles s devi ce’s si gnal streng th wi ll only be display ed as lo ng as i t supp orts “Li ve Di agnosti cs.” Sam ple rat e and si ze can be adjus ted fro m the dropdow n box es. The log options allow you to filter t he router log s so y ou can easi ly fi nd relev ant mess ages. T his rout er also has e xter nal Sy slog Serv er supp ort so you c an send t he lo g files t o a com puter o n your networ k that i s running a Sy slog uti lity. A ut o Update: The logs automati cally refres h w henever the rout er cre ates a n ew message. Update: Click to c heck f or new r outer m essages. Clear L og: Clear the log file. Sav e Log: This w ill open a dialog in your brow ser t hat will allow y ou to sav e the rou ter's log to y our c omputer. This may be req uired for s ome appli cations to funct ion, or for an a pplicati on to improve f unctional ity or add feat ures. P PTP and F TP ar e enable d by def ault, w hile SIP, TFTP, an d IRC can b e enabl ed to enhance or enabl e par ticular features that use th ose protoc ols. To add M AC addres ses to t his l ist, simply select d evi ces show n in the MAC Addr ess Log and c lick “ Ignore. ” You can also add addr esses manually. MAC Address Log: This show s the last 64 MAC addr esses that hav e connected to the rout er, as w ell as whi ch interface w as us ed to co nnect. The p age may ne ed to be re freshed t o show the mos t recent log entr ies. Double - cl icking on entr ies from this list w ill add them to the Ignored MAC Addresse s list. Choose from W iF i and Ethern et inter faces.DHCP Server: (Default: Enabled) When the DHC P s erver is enabl ed, user s o f your netw ork w ill be abl e t o automat ically connect to th e Inte rnet wi thout any special config uration. It is recommended that you leave this enabled. Disab ling the DHCP s erver is only recom m ended if you have anot her DH CP serv er on y our net work and it is config ured properl y. Range Start a nd Range End: Thes e desig nate the r ange of val ues in the reser ved pool of IP addres ses for the DHCP s erver. Values wit hin this r ange w ill be gi ven to any DHCP ena b led co mputer s on your netw ork. T he defaul t values are al most alw ays sufficien t (defaul t: 7 2 to 200, as in 192.168.0.72 to 192. 168.0.2 00).
