Rear-Facing Pull the seat pad off the front corners of the Alpha Omega car seat to expose the slots for the LATCH belt. Thread the entire LATCH belt through the upper slot the reach your hand under the pad and pull one end of the belt between the crotch buckle and the rear harness slot and push the LATCH hook out through the rear-facing belt path. Repeat for the other side of the car seat. Replace the seat pad and recline the car seat fully. Place the Cosco Omega seat in a rear-facing position in a rear seat of your vehicle. Connect the LATCH hooks on each side of the car seat to the anchors located in your vehicle. Consult your vehicle owner's manual for the location of the anchors. Pull up on the loop of the belt while pressing firmly on the car seat to tighten the LATCH belt. Forward-Facing Feed the LATCH belt through the upper slot in the side of the car seat shell and out through the upper slot on the other side. Place the Alpha Omega car seat flush against the seat back of a rear seat in your vehicle. Recline the seat if needed to make it flush with the back of the seat. Fasten the LATCH hooks on both sides of the car seat onto the anchors in your vehicle seat. Consult your vehicle's owner's manual for locations of the anchors. Push firmly on the Alpha Omega seat with your knee while pulling hard on the loop of the LATCH belt to tighten it. Attach the LATCH hook of the top tether strap to the anchor above or behind your vehicle seat. Pull the tether belt to tighten it while continuing to press firmly on the car seat with your knee. Belt-Positioning Booster Fasten the LATCH belt hooks together behind the Alpha Omega car seat. Remove the seat base before installing the seat in your vehicle. Recline the seat to the lowest setting and push the tab down on right side of base while pushing on and removing the bar from the other side. Pull the recline lever to lift the seat off its base. Remove the harness by unfastening it from the T-shaped splitter plate on the back of the car seat and feeding it out through the slots to the front of the seat. Release the buckle section by and threading the metal plate on the underside of the seat up through the slot to the top of the seat. Return the seat to the fully upright position. Place the booster seat in the vehicle with the seat back flush against the back of the vehicle seat. Thread the safety belt through the notch in the belt positioning guide so that the belt lies against the child's chest without obstructing her face or neck. Pull up on the safety belt to tighten it. Tips Always check that the seat is installed properly before using it. For rear-facing or forward-facing installations, the seat should not move more than one inch in any direction if installed correctly. Your car seat has an expiration date printed on it. It is black and grey with red piping. Gender neutral. It comes with an extra pillow head support for infants and a cup holder for toddlers. Recommend rear facing from 5 lbs to 40 lbs and front facing from 22 lbs to 50 lbs. After that, a booster seat. What's really nice about this car seat is the removable cushion for machine washing and drying. The booklet that comes with it is in English only, and is 54 pages with lots of photos and tips. When rear facing, buy a Styrofoam pool noodle, cut it to length, and use it in the crack of the seat to level the car seat. All in all, I am impressed with the quality of this car seat and would not hesitate to recommend it to any one for their child. They are currently rear facing. In my SUV it fits better, but you still have to roll up one towel or sheet to get it at the right angle. It does not fit as well in our car. I installed it yesterday and I still need to go make adjustments. I came back to read reviews to see if I was missing something. Looks like I will be needing to roll about 3 towels or sheets underneath to get it leaned back far enough. Doesn't feel incredibly snug, but I think my children will be safe. It's very well padded. The box said that the cup holder easily switches to both sides, but it only feels secure on one side where there is a notch for the cup holder. Also, one of my seats did not come with a manual. Thankfully I bought more than one. I wouldn't recommend others to buy this car seat unfortunately. I was pretty excited about the purchase at first. I do hear great things about them being forward facing though and my kids grow like weeds, so hopefully my seats wont have to be like this for long. Sometimes they really are confusing, and hard to adjust. Sometimes you have to take THE WHOLE SEAT OUT of the car to adjust when your child grows. This car seat is different. You install it once (right out of the box, no adjusting needed), and adjustments can happen in place with the two top levers to adjust for shoulder height and a button below and between the legs to let out more belt. This is a BLESSING. We've had other car seats where we had to dig out the manual to figure out how to adjust the shoulder size and then re-thread all the belts back in place. Such a hassle, but this one is hassle free. This car seat is comfortable for my 5 year old and attractive. It also has the bonus that it goes up to 80 pounds. My 5 year old is very tall and big for his age, so this is just a necessity. He outgrew his old 40 pound seat in no time. The straps wouldn't even fit him anymore. This one will last him until he's legally able to be without a car seat. We like the cup holder. Wish there were two, but the one that is there can be adjusted on either side of the seat. The chair is a big one so we have a small car that now only comfortably fits two in the back seat because of the bigness of the chair. I can get the chair and two kids back there, but the chair does take up a lot of room. Overall, despite only one cup holder and the size - I really like it. This Cosco car seat fits perfect. It was pretty easy to install, the latch system is good. Easy to adjust the shoulder strap height and crotch buckle position. You do need to rethread them, but it's super easy to do. My daughter's previous convertible car seat took up so much room and barely reclined at all. Even rear facing, there is still plenty of room between the driver's seat and the back of the car seat. It also comes in handy when we are having a hard time getting her to sleep. I also like that the head rest is flexible. It is also very nice and definitely necessary that the cover is machine washable. The head support is so nice to have when she falls asleep so that her head never falls forward and strains her neck. It also has a removable cushion for the booty, which I'm sure she appreciates during our long car rides. Be aware that it is wider than expected, so it may take up some room. The Cosco Easy Elite 3-in-1 car-seat has a lot of cushion.The car seat was easy to install. It's a nice looking seat and well made. I like that it will hold up to 80 lbs. In the pictures that i provided with my 6 year old granddaughter she wanted to see how it felt with the pillow behind her head, but as you can see, she didn't need it. With her bulky sweater on, and with the bulk of the pillow it almost looks like she doesn't fit well in the seat. She's tall and lanky for a 6 year old. The pillow is for newborns so I did remove it from behind her; Possibly without the sweater the pillow would work out for her. I love the side impact cushions. The seat is neat, I really like it. My van is usually full of car seats and children going to and fro from school, doctor or dental appointments. The picture shows the car seat in the middle row, but I will be installing it in the 3rd row. I'm thinking about getting two more of these seats to fill up my 3rd row seating so that all of the seats match. This is a very soft material and he is very hot natured, so far he does not seem to get hot when riding in this seat. What I liked about this seat was we were able to take it right out of the box and install in the car easily. The seat does come with an instruction booklet and it was well written and filled with pictures. If you had any issues installing this seat your issues would be resolved fast by this instruction booklet. The material cover does come off so you can wash it. I did take it off to see how easy it was to take off, I had no issues removing it or putting it back on. Easy to do and a huge must when you have a seat that should last for the amount of time that needs to be in a car seat. Love that this seat can be used for such a very long time. What a fantastic idea to help families save money by buying a seat that should last for such a long time. I am very pleased with this seat, very easy to use, long life span and love the cup holder that this comes with, my nephew loves that the most plus he said it was comfy and awesome. I received this seat thru the spark reviewer program, and this is my honest unbiased opinion and have come to it by using the seat myself for my nephew. I knew it was time to upgrade from our infant car seat. My daughter is 11 months old. She's 18 pounds and 26 inches. She was getting a little too long for her old car seat, so we tried this one. I love it! First of all, it is a beautiful pink color. Very bright and colorful. It is super padded and looks very comfortable. As soon as I got it out of the box my daughter wanted to sit in it. She even got mad at me when I tried to get her out of it. The thing that I love the most about it is that it is the last car seat I'll ever need. It goes up to 80 pounds. It's 3 car seats in one. It says you can start as little as 5 pounds but I still recommend using an infant car seat for a least the first few months. They are easier to take in and out of cars and you can keep the baby in it while you shop or are waiting in a waiting room. This car seat is perfect for the little girl who needs more room and doesn't want to sit in a seat for longer than she has to. Beautiful, comfortable and is versatile. I love it! I got to say that this was not a disappointment. The first thing I noticed when I got the car seat out of the box was the weight, not too heavy but without being so light that I felt like I was going to be able to chuck it one handed into my car. It has a typical LATCH system installation common with new car seats that allow for a tight safe fit into your car with a left, right, and overhead latch. Since it is a common install, it took less than 15 minutes to fit it into my car. After properly tightening the car seat, I was happy to see that it did not wiggle around like with some same priced car seats. Even though the LATCH system is a safe and tight fit I still like to include the extra insurance of using the car seat belt and threading it through the back, and this was were I found my first small issue. The area meant to slide the seat belt through is much smaller than other car seats that I have had, and even with my smaller hands and wrists, I still had some difficulty threading the belt from one side to the other. Now this will not be an issue for those that only plan to use the LATCH system and do not feel the need of the seat belt, but this might make it difficult for anyone with a car made before September of 2002 or if you are like me and just like the added level of security. I would recommend anyone with leather or faux leather seats to place a towel or some other fabric underneath the car seat as any car seat has a tendency of creating deep possibly permanent dents into the material. Another benefits to this car seat is that the height adjustment is two knobs at the top of the seat that you can slide up or down if you have multiple children sitting in the same car seat without having to remove the car sea each time like you have to do with most other seats.See more Reviewed by a1chef2011 a1chef2011 Spark Reviewer Helpful.
