I recently purchased from you a Copterx 450 se kit and have just finished installing all electrics. Having purchased the CopterX CX-CT6A Transmitter with CX-CR6A receiver and also the CopterX 450 Electronic Parts Package.http://emeraldspareparts.com/public_html/userfiles/ds4700-express-model-70-manual.xml I have paired the reciever with the transmitter and all servos apart from the tail servo are working. The Gyro is working as well and the servo seems to be getting power but no movement when I try to control it through the transmitter. I have tried unplugging and replugging into the receiver and swapping the plugs around but it still doesn't work. Is there something I have missed or something I'm doing wrong??? Also I purchased a progamming card for the ESC but when plugging directly into the card itself and hooking up the battery it doesn't seem to work either. Following the instructions it says it doesn't need a separate battery pack to provide power because the ESC has BEC. Is the programming card not compatible with Copterx product or again have I done something wrong??? Anyone's help would be great!!! Although if anyone has had experience with the setup of the transmitter settings on the CopterX CX-CT6A, in mode 1, advice would be muchly appreciated Now I want to buy a 450-class electric heli. I thought of getting a Blade 400 (read a lot of good stuff on it, and it comes with a Spektrum dx6i). However, I have read great things about Trex and its clones, like CopterX. Plus I hear building your own heli (from a kit, like CopterX) helps out in the long run. So my questions are: 1) Do you like the CopterX and would you recommend it? 2) Is the CopterX 450 electronics package good (ie will it fly well and can you do basic 3D with it), and 3) Is it roughly the same cost for repairs as the Blade 400. Any advice is appreciated, thanks! And all worked out fine for me. As a newby I found the standard copterx transmitter very easy and understandable. The settings for throttle an pitch curves in the software program are self explanatory, you can see in the curve how you set it. Only negative point is that you always have to use your computer to setup the tx. So after you progress in the hobby you soon want a decent 6 or 7 channel radio (dx6 or 7 or a futaba 7c) the standard motor and esc are very good and the gyro works great if you are a beginner. I upgraded after a few months to a Copterx 450 AE and transfered all electronics.I still love my copterx and keep flying and upgrading it. Get a rtf set or a kit from ehirobo and you will love it to. You can fly basic 3d with the standard setup from copterx package. If progress your flying skills update the servo's for couple stronger ones ( I use towerpro mg 90 now good servo for a cheap price and very crash resistant) and spare parts are very cheap for the copterx heli's and if you want u can use all the top notch stuff from align on the X Please enter your desired user name, your REAL and WORKING email address and other required details in the form below.Note that passwords are case-sensitive. The system is using FHSS. I have been unable to find anything in the web. The predecessor model CT6B appears to be compatible to FlySky.I have not been able to find any useful information in the internet telling something helpful regarding the used protocol. Up so far it seems that the used protocol is not compatibel to anything known such as e. g. Flysky. Indeed some availble comments in the web are confirming lack of success to bind TX or RX to any other system. Is the protocol already known or analyzed. Can I somehow help for the implementation e. g. by recording the initialisation SPI data stream or reverse-engineering the RF SPI interface PCB connections? Then we'd know what RF chip it uses and how hard is the reversing of the protocol from the mechanical point of view - how hard is to solder to the RF chip. Probably these photos are already allowing the cracks to identify compatibility to any known or already analyzed application. Please let me know if I can contribute further support information. This system use integrated RF chip on both ends, so the protocol implementation is embedded in the chip itself and there is no way to trace SPI interaction between MCU and RF - there is none. All other cases use separate RF chip at least at one end. The only hope is to decode the protocol directly from air using SDR, but I have not mastered this technique yet. I did hope that the printed labels on the receiver side (MOSI, MISO,.) are somehow indicating that the internal NRF24LE1G SPI interface is visible. I got everything here such as logic analyzer so I can try to record some SPI data if it will help. And even if there were SPI, it's commands should not have any correlation with low level RF chip register accesses. So even if you trace this it will be absolutely useless for the purpose of programming this protocol into Deviation. They mention that it uses 20 channels, can you check that it does not bind to HiSky. HiSky also uses 20 channels, uses similar module in transmitter with the same chip, and people usually are too lazy to invent something - they prefer to copy (or may be even license). Hopefully this will change pretty soon, depending on Asian delivery times. As soon as my playground becomes available I will try anything to take these receivers into operation based on already implemented protocols - what means using try and error binding for all given NRF24L01 protocols. Assuming that at least the Turnigy version should have quite a remarkable sales volume there should be some experience like that. We'll see - I'll get back soon. I got the down-converter I mentioned previously, but haven't yet installed it, so I'm still working with my (reasonably expensive) USRP unit when working on 2.4GHz. Still, I probably have several months (or more) of working with known data before I'm comfortable enough to try to decode unknown data. If I ever get far enough that I can snoop the NRF24L01, I may grab one of these to try, but it is unlikelyto be anytime soon. As far as the spreadsheet goes, I clarified the state of the CopterX protocol. I happen to have V202 code for Arduino You can just check whether it binds or not. I also got a few Arduino boards (Nano) but I hate to work using Arduino development environment. Is something like this possible for you? (Attached just for orientation two impressions of typical micro modelling electronics I've done) If it is, I'd buy XR7000 just to make sure that it binds (or not) to HiSky. Sorry for misleading last post - I did not mean V202, I meant HiSky, for which, unfortunately, I don't have Arduino code. Due to the fact that both transmitters do look exactly the same I assume that there is no risk in assuming both identically looking receivers are also the same. Attention: it is important to use XR7000S not XR7000 (!) If acceptable for you I love to pay for the analysis receiver. Just let me know. Bedankt daarvoor! I always like that very much. I have almost no coax experience myself and a 450 size coax sound really great. Do you have an url which leads to such big coax machines? Only move to next small step until your mastered your current practise. Thats the most common learning strategy there is for human beings. It took me 60 days for a good tail in hover ?? with my HBFP V2. In that time you learn to set up it better to, so your progress can double ?? I visit there chat too. Can be lots of fun 2. Imagine your heli flying in your TV. Thats no fun at all. Below 3ft your heli will encounter tremendous wake aka rotor wash. Also your heli has the tendency to drift left and sometimes backwards. Hovering in rotor wash is good to train reflexes. And hovering a little higher makes life easier. Getting of the ground to slow can cause mega drift to. I am sure you encountered it already. This can become a serious mesh in only a few seconds! I have 2 of these now, one on HK450MT and other on HK250GT but cant work out how to store both on the tx without rebinding each time. Preparing for a busy weekend of frustration. Great that we share similar equipment. HK450 is nice bird, easy to assemble and fly. 250 (I have 2, one for spares) is difficult for big hands to build but great for indoors (its summer here in Doha at the moment, day temperatures outside mid 40’s C so outside flying is not very nice). 250 tail is rubbish, am waiting for delivery of a MicroHeli tail, which should fix the problem. Have made all the suggested mods, Trex CF blades, belt and feathering shafts etc. Fully Loctite and CNA all screws. HXT900 servos, Turnigy DS 480 on the tail with Telebee and HK401B gyros. Also have a Walkera CB100 which is a bundle of fun. Keep up the good work, Cheers until next time, Paul. I really appriciate it! Let me try to explain. Before you power up the TX push and keep pushed the two small buttons on the left near the display. Then power the TX and then let go of the 2 buttons. Now we are in the model selection menu. N1 N2 N3 N4 N5 are model channels to use. Use the right two buttons to go to lets say N2. When you power the tx off and on it will start up in N2. Also check if channel to is the heli mode with Ccpm mixing. Check manual for that. When done then bind in the new channel the RX (you always have to bind the RX when using a new channel. Switch TX off and on after binding and channel 2 has his own binding and is ready for setting up. Power up TX and push the two left buttons at the same time. Go to N2 and you are happy to go. I am slightly disappointed that you have to bind each time you change from one heli to another but at least the settings stay set. I now have the 250 set as n1 and the 450 as n2. For the 450 the specs are: Regards, Paul. Sorry for not being as clear to you as I wished to be. You just have to switch from channel after that without any new bindings. Just one time for each channel. All will be working fine. I do not like hearing you crashed because of my bad English ?? And I am sure you will love building and flying the HK450 Pro TT. It is such a lovely piece of clone art. Its not working or doesnt pick up on my laptop.Mode 1 or 2? And whats the exact problem, more specific. Eric The flight sim that comes with ESKY is called FMS and is downloadable at many places online. So just look online for a good copy of FMS which will be free to download. I remember Vista had some problems with FMS. WHen you installed FMS you will also have the drivers for your TX. AT least thats how it worked in my case. I hope my answer was of any help ?? It’s been very helpful. I got myself an Esky Big Lama a couple weeks ago. Your site has helped a lot. I haven’t even tried to fly it yet. I want to use the FMS program over the winter so I’ll be somewhat ready in the spring to try it. For some reason FMS reads my rudder as channel 6 which seems strange as the heli only comes with a 4 channel transmitter??? As expected I had a heck of a time getting FMS to work at all, I’m running it on a Windows 7 pro laptop but I almost have it sorted out,,:). On the way to this point I messed with the servo reversing switches in the botton right corner of the tx. I think I have it right now with the left 2 up and the right 2 down. Anyway, thank you for this site I will be visiting it often and let you know how I make out. The only heli I’ve flown before this was a micro 3 channel which is a lot of fun. This huge heli is a total nother world. At 64 my learning curve has slowed WWWWaaaaaayyyyyy down. LOL Thanks again, Les And congratulations with being the owner of Big Lama.Using a sim is great for orientation practice. I saves money too. I learned the hard way without and I wish I had used a sim. Learning to fly a helicopter takes time. Our brain needs to make new connections for the new wanted skills. This just takes time. And maybe a little more when being 64. Just make your hours on the SIM. When you get bored of FMS, just try to find an other sim. You can learn very much by just looking at your own flying. And other love to watch the first steps too ?? Notify me of new posts via email. To find out more, including how to control cookies, see here. But I am not sure about the version number being correct. Here's why: My question is that when I start up the CopterX V2.1 software Program, it shows the firmware level being V2.1 for both the firmware and the Software Program at V2.1 (which is the latest for the software program). Which Firmware am I now running? Is it V2.1 firmware like the bottom left screen of the software program says, or is it really the latest V2.2 firmware I am running, and somehow the front screen of the software program did not get updated to the real new version of firmware V2.2 installed - why does it still show V2.1 as the firmware level. If I do not have the latest V2.2 firmware, where can I get it and once installed, will it show the correct version of the firmware on the CopterX V2.1 Software program used to connect to the Gyro to program it. I want to make sure i have the latest PC software program (V2.1) and the latest Firmware for the CX-3x2000 V2.2 firmware which I have that is supposed to be firmware V2.2. But since the main screen of the Software program shows Version 2.1 firmware, I don't know what to believe. Can you clear this up please and thanks. Thanks, I look forward to your reply.:-)Dear Dave: This is a bug copterX is being fix now. If you follow the steps to install the v2.2 firmware it is installed to the gyro already. But it will still show v2.1 at the software. Do not worry if you follow all the steps you have the latest firmware in your gyro already. Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience caused. Best regards Janice Cheung www.ehirobo.com and Dear Dave: Thank you for your support for copterX products. This is a bug for the v2.2 software as even after you upload it to your gyro it still show v2.1 in the software. As long as you follow all the instruction to upload the firmware you will have the latest version of firmware in your gyro. We will fix this bug as soon as possible and sorry for the inconvenience caused. Best regards, KY Model Web site: www.ky-model.com And will make the gyro more stable during high vibration operation. Looking forward to the new firmware, Thanks, Dave Use of this site indicates your consent to the Terms of Use. Use of this site indicates your consent to the Terms of Use. Forum questions or problems Test Posting Forum I want to buy this piece, but I'm not sure if it worth the money. I would like to get some opinions here.I know the V2 is mostly a clone but when I looked at the pics of the V3, I see a lot of differences. You will not find a worse example of electronics. There's a reason why they are so cheap. Instead, buy the kit and build it up yourself. You'll gain a wealth of needed knowledge and probably be a better pilot along the way.I agree,,, pass on the electronics though. Suspect at best. The heli as most are now adays will be 90-95 assembled. JimThe pictures tell the story. The CopterxproV3 is is a copy of the Trex pro series with torque tube or without.I would choose the V3 because the frame set and head is a bit stronger designed and the servo mounts insure no interaction. As far as electronics here is a list I would choose from ( and have). Trex450m motor, or older version of the 3770kv.or Scorpion 2221-8. Esc I would use an Align 35x.Hitec hs 65 servos, or Align 410 digitals. Spectrum radio system with a 6200 receiver. DX7 would be nice but the DX6I with 6200 combo would be perfect. A Futaba401 gyro, Futaba520 gyro (my choice) and a 9257 tail servo or 9650 servo or JR290 servo. If you use the 9257 you will need a step down regulator to 5.1v as it will only run on 5V. (about 6 bucks) The others will work fine on 6V. I would invest in a really good charger or chargers such as the FMA cellpro4,8 or 10.Charge 2 at a time. Most folks around here are using Zippy flight PRO 2200 MAH 3 CELL BATTERIES with great success. About a third of the price.Just a thought. I paid about 400 and change for a dx7SE and 7600.It really depend if you are like to do normal flights it will do the job. But if you are looking for ultra 3D do not use the copterX electronics. As far as parts goes as the copterX pro v3 is an earlier clone of the trex pro. So the parts are different than current model. The latest one will be the copterX Pro V5 DFC which is a align PRO DFC clone.Use of this site indicates your consent to the Terms of Use. Use of this site indicates your consent to the Terms of Use.
