The process resets the box's flash memory, erasing everything except the firmware. Hold down any button on the remote control, then disconnect and reconnect the power cord. I eventually discovered that switching on my garbage disposal would often cause the DCT700 to reset. I later discovered that switching on my vacuum cleaner would usually (almost always) cause a DCT700 reset. A quick check of the (third-party) power supply that had come with the DCT700 left me impressed the cable box was still managing to work at all. So, I pursued a two-track response. I ordered this supply via Amazon and investigated the ailing supply. The supply ordered via Amazon plugged right in as expected and restored reliable DCT700 operation. No more unwanted resets. The old third-party supply proved to have a failed output capacitor. Replacement with the proper(ly functioning) part rendered that supply once again able to power the DCT700 without trouble.It's a power cord. Not sure what else needs to be saidIt doesn’t have the same product or model number.
