99 tahoe manual transmissionIt is not to be confused with GMC Denali. This situation changed when GMC rebadged the full-size Jimmy as the Yukon in 1991. Chevrolet waited until 1994 to rebadge the redesigned mid-size S-10 Blazer as the Blazer, renaming the full-size Blazer as the Tahoe. The name Tahoe refers to the rugged and scenic area surrounding Lake Tahoe in the western United States. The name Yukon refers to the Yukon territory of northern Canada. For the 1995 model year, the Tahoe and Yukon gained a new 4-door model slotting in size between the 2-door models and the longer wheelbase and higher passenger capacity to up to nine passengers like the Chevrolet Suburban and newly named Yukon XL.The Yukon is only sold in North America and the Middle East.Lengthened wheelbase models are available for both as the Suburban for Chevrolet and Yukon XL for GMC. A luxury Denali model joined the Yukon lineup in 1998 for the 1999 model year. As of 2001, a Denali version of the Yukon XL has also been available as the Yukon XL Denali. The Cadillac Escalade is closely related to the Denali models of the Yukon.All were 2-door models through 1994. The Chevrolet K5 Blazer was discontinued after the 1994 model year. The Chevrolet Tahoe was introduced in 1995 for the 1995 model year with the addition of an all-new 4-door version. 4-door Yukon, Tahoe production started on January 20, 1995 at Janesville Assembly. The Tahoe was Motor Trend magazine's Truck of the Year for 1996. It is named for Lake Tahoe on the California-Nevada border in the United States. This was a true truck chassis, and was based on that used in the Chevrolet Silverado full-size pickup truck. Both two-door and four-door models were produced in rear- and four-wheel drive. The two-door weighs roughly 4,500 lb (2,041 kg) while the four-door weighs approximately 5,500 lb (2,495 kg). LT models feature power-adjustable, body-color exterior mirrors with power folding, memory and integrated turn signal indicators.A redesigned instrument cluster featured a new Driver Information Center, which can monitor and report on up to 34 different vehicle system functions including: Service StabiliTrak, Ice Possible and Door Ajar. The interior was refreshed, including a new eight-button steering wheel that allows the driver to safely access new infotainment features as well as a redesigned center console.These included a new Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) system to improve throttle feel and new oxygen sensors to improve durability and reduce emissions during engine warm-up. Two new colors, Blue Velvet and Pepperdust Metallic, were added to replace four colors. The 22-inch wheels option was expanded to three, and the rear seat entertainment system was overhauled.Two new colors, Dark Blue Sapphire Metallic and Mineral Metallic were introduced, the latter exclusive to the Denali, which is also adding a new 22-inch ultra bright aluminum wheels with midnight silver premium paint and a head-up display to its features. The interior backlights changed from red to blue.The 2018 Tahoe will have the Custom Edition package added as an option on the base LS trim level. The GMC Yukon received a 10 speed automatic transmission on the Denali trim level and the GMC Yukon is facelifted for 2018 with a refreshed grille similar to the one from the 2017 GMC Acadia and 2018 GMC Terrain. The Tahoe expanded its size length to 210.7 inches, and the wheelbase to 120.9 inches while shortened down by 15 inches longer due to the rear wheelbase moving back by 5 inches, making it the largest SUV in the full size length segment. It gains 11 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row and 10 inches of third-row legroom.The LS, Z71, and RST trims will not have this feature because of their configurations.Newly updated features include a 10.25-inch touch screen that is now standard on all trims, and a pair of 12.6-inch LCD rear screens that can play movies and offer content from passengers’ smartphones, and can play different programs on the two screens. A new push button shifter column (P, R, N, D) is placed on the dashboard, nine camera displays for enhanced towing capabilities and a total of 30 additional safety features have been implemented throughout the Tahoe. An Air Ride Adaptive Suspension is standard on the higher trims, likewise with an 8-inch driver screen.Like the Tahoe, the Yukon will also feature an independent rear suspension, a 3.0-liter inline-six turbodiesel engine, and a top-shelf suspension option featuring air springs and magnetic-ride shocks, a standard 5.3-liter V-8, an optional 420-hp 6.2-liter V-8, and a 10-speed automatic transmission that is standard across the lineup. It also gains 4.9 inches in the wheelbase but only 0.4 inch in overall length, making it still short of the Tahoe's length. The dashboard will have two versions, one similar to the Tahoe while a different one with a larger entertainment screen will be exclusive to the Denali. The Yukon's design follows GMC's design language, with the front grille mimicking the Sierra but the tailgate mimicking the GMC crossover SUV lineup with the lights extended to the tailgate doors.The issue was sent out to dealerships ahead of receiving the vehicles and were instructed to inspect the engine oil cooler lines at the quick connector on the radiator in order to ensure they are properly seated before selling or dealer-trading the vehicle.The Denali is available on both standard and XL versions and is the top-of-the-line trim in the GMC Yukon lineup.In the interior, in addition, the Denali features luxury options not available in the Yukon. It will also have a different dashboard feature that will be exclusive to this trim.The vehicle can run on either gasoline, electricity or a mixture of the two using automatic Two-Mode Hybrid system that monitors the vehicle's torque, and state of the battery to choose the most efficient source of power. The Tahoe is considered a strong or full hybrid, in that it can run entirely on the battery (for a limited range) at low speeds.It is also used by the Sao Paulo State Police and the Rio Grande do Sul State Police. But as the cars grew old, the great majority of them were substituted, mainly by the smaller Chevrolet Blazer midsize SUV. I picked up a 96' Nv4500 out of a chevy 3500 truck. The trans is complete with the transfer case, yoke and PTO. The Tahoe currently has a 4l60e in it. I know that I will need to have the ECM re flashed, Install master cylinder and pedal (provisions provided on the firewall) cut hole in floor board (provisions provided by GM), adapter u joints and wire up the neutral safety switch. GM PN 12346190, the dodge equivalent (should be listed on side of tranny PTO cover, or any dodge dealer worth a crap should know) or Amsoil.I have no clue, but to be safe, I would get the PCM flashed for a manual transmission.I assume by the 4L60E that it is a gasser.The truck is a 99 Tahoe 2 door 4wd 5.7, I spoke with Black Bear Performance and PCM 4 Less over the weekend and both seemed to think that the Turning off the codes in the ECM would be no problem. Ill get a tune as well as the ECM mods. Here is a picture of the PTO. Can remove the PTO and just bolt a stock cover on it. Do i need to remove the PTO gear? I still have a couple bugs to work out and wire up the clutch safety switch. Gm Guy, the PTO is a Muncie brand Part number RG6D-N7913-C1BX. I am about 3 hours north of Rio Vista in Redding. The paint is fading fast, (i had it florida for 10 years) and I am now in process of a major redo. This by fr is my favorite bodystyle and is HUGE inside. Basically, I think I have more then 100k left on it, so I will repaint, recarpet, and replace what I can cosmetically. (new headlights too). To me it is so darn dependable. It takes the freeways no problem, almost rides like a car. The inside is so big I have occassional put a mattress in back for long trips, (not in summer!). The only other thing I have done is put a truck horn in it. In florida they cut you off just for the heck of it, and I love their reactions when the horn goes off. If you can find a low milage used one, and take care of it, you will have it a LOOOONG time.It's an LT with the grey interior. It is a very solid vehicle, no squeaks, rattles, etc. And the truck is 19 years old this year !! My baby has never been in an accident, and is a rust free California truck. Parts are very easy to get. I ONLY use AC Delco or GM parts on my baby. And I run it on premium fuel exclusively.Big Blue has treated me well over the years. Only had to have it towed once, when the fuel pump quit on me in the parking lot at work. But the truck had like 120000 at the time. The odometer now reads 262,000. I had a remanufactured engine, transmission, and transfer case installed at 255,000, so my new drivetrain has just over 7000 miles on it now. The body is a solid 9 out of 10. The interior is a 7.5 -8 out of 10. Everything works. With a new drivetrain and my easy driving habits, I think that Big Blue is good for at least another 150,000 -200,000 miles !! I decided to keep the Tahoe rather than sell it and get another one because I just love the body style !! Classic !! Plus this is the last year for the 2 door. Another nice option is the push button 4WD, no levers to move, more room up front.These large full size suvs are good for about any thing you can think of using them for. Mechanically they are about as simple as they come. The parts generally are affordable and easy to install. The vortec 5.7 lt. (350) engine are bullet proof and run strong. But I can't say too much for its fuel injection system. This system along with the fuel pressure regulator is hidden under the upper intake plenum. In order to service it the upper plenum and numerous wiring harnesses have to be removed. The system is totally different and there are timing marks on this engines distributor that if one is unaware of they're purpose will be in for a night mare. Because the engine will not start and will cost you time and money trying to figure out why. Yes 180 out. The engines computer corrects this once it's been started. So word to the wise. Mine went out on me and they wanted an arm and a leg to rebuild it. I would recommend the do it your self r to be fully aware of these Tahoes late model issues in advance. If I where to get another GM truck of this Era I would stick to the 95 and earlier vintage. And finally there are few performance parts available for the vortec 350. And if you do come across them, like headers, be prepared to pay top dollar. Other than that they are great trucks.It is the last 2 door Tahoe's manufactured. It has the shortest turning radius of any truck I have driven and is great in the mountains. I have used it in the high country of Colorado every year since 2005 and find that it out performs any pick-up or 4 door Tahoe due to almost 50-50 weight distribution and short turning radius. I haul a small utility trailer and can pack -in for 6 to 8 weeks with no problem. I continue to maintain this truck for my hunting and fishing ventures since there is no longer a truck like it on the market. It has over 185,000 miles and is still going strong. I am sure that it will last for the rest of my hunting and fishing activities.At 300,000 miles I installed a re-manufactured engine and completely rebuilt the front suspension and the drive line.
