I have heard mutters about service issues with Chester, though no personal experience. Another good thing about the Warco is that the top slide has T slots where as a lot of the newer vairable speed machines don't, for a start you have a lot of work to fit a vertical slide, important if you don't have a mill. Incidently, finally received what i ordered many months later 6 in fact paid in full, guess what delivered to wrong address couldnt get that right.Their biggest fault is that the leadscrew has a slot milled into it for normal feed but along with the thread it makes for cutting teeth that destroy the soft aluminium half nuts unless deburred adequately. This is only an issue when you engage the half nuts for threading as normal feed is thru a worm drive that leaves the half nuts open and unaffected. After maybe 30 mods and improvements I wouldn't sell mine but it took a while to get there. The Chester versions seem particularly poor, I got mine from Excel Machine Tool of Coventry, they're on t'interweb One interesting thing I did find out is that not all Chinese machines are made in the same factory, not all 9x20's are made by Seig, it seems that there may be a 'common' set of plans and the same product could have been made by any one of a number of factories, each available to different levels of finish.
