By the way one could use theoretically also several nVidia video cards, however officially not as SLI, but only the output to several monitors would be supported. Additionally to the three PCI Express 2.0 slots there are 3 PCI slots and one x1 PCIe 2.0 slot. Of course it is not as comfortable as a conventional fan controller and it is not possible to use it with all fan types, but it should help some users to get a more silent PC. But AMD did reply and they were right the prob was with my CPU, I ended up keeping the board because I couldn't afford to go up to the Gigabyte UD5, and my friend said he'd take it since he doesn't need it for Internet anyway. Well the cpu and a 560ti made a difference, it unlocked my X3 into a X4 and although limited in it's OC'ing ability which I knew before I bought it, it's held up nicely.Not for serious Overclocking (read professional reviews), however it does have it good points too. Good board layout, vid card does NOT cover PCI E port, enough space for Crossfire or SLI although only 8x pipes with the chipset. Most LG CPU coolers won't cover ram slots, and with lots of air board stays at 30-34c when being pushed.This still isn't the best board on the market by along shot, I'm not even sure it's the best in it's price range. But this board would not complete a single stress test before shutting down or producing errors, this was purchased with Athlon II x3 450, Gigabyte Radeon HD 6850 (Now known to have a memory controller issue.) It also has the third slot with 4 lanes. It's interesting that even the latter can accomodate a dual-slot graphics card without blocking access to any peripheral ports. If you only have one graphics card, you should install it into the first graphics slot, because it's the only one with 16 PCI Express lanes. In all other aspects, the motherboard is simple. It offers chipset functionality plus USB 3.0 and FireWire. This is typical for most motherboards based on this chipset that we have reviewed. Note that ASRock decided to go without an IDE port. This will be a disadvantage, if you still have legacy drives. As for the eSATA 3Gbps port on the backpanel, ASRock tells us that it uses one of the chipset ports (ASRock 890GX Extreme3 has all six SATA 6Gbps ports, but lacks an additional SATA 3Gbps controller). But then why does that port only provides 3Gbps bandwidth instead of 6Gbps. ASRock says it's located too far from the Southbridge, so the connecting lane is too long hence throughput limitations. Unfortunately, it hardly helps cooling. A cover like that is especially unreasonable on a low-profile Southbridge heatsink.
